Whilst Falias had been planning on getting in contact with Celsus on the day after receiving Scholomance's new knight ring upgrade, things had been pretty busy for him on the Marlin front to the point where it had taken a few days before he managed to snatch some time to power up.
Ironically it had taken the form of his dad popping by and deciding to work the last couple of hours at Fancy a Change, but Marlin hadn't turned his father's offer down recognising it as what it was - a rare chance at a break.
And also a chance to power up.
Which was how he had come to be over at Winston Park in the late hours of the afternoon, having sent a short message to Celsus:Dear Celsus,
I was wondering if we could meet if you're free today.
A Knight called Scholomance recently released a new upgrade and I picked up some extras.
I was also thinking of heading over to my Wonder for a little bit and was wondering if you would be interested in coming along.
I'll be at Winston Park at around half five-ish this afternoon around about the basketball court.
Falias It was actually a little before half five, although Falias was happy enough to wait for a little bit to see if Celsus would come.
Hopefully he would however, because if not then Falias would have to think of some other way in which to get the upgrade out to the other brigade members.kuropeco Hope this works as a start Kuro but lmk if I need to tweak anything. Timewise I've backdated it to just before the Blighted Garden orp (so shortly after the Olympus rp which I hope works too)

The letter came while Celsus was just finishing dusting a youma, the glittering debris of it falling around him as his ring made a noise. He glanced down at it, slightly warily, wondering whether or not he'd done something to make it off kilter yet again (like that time he'd accidentally dialed Mont Blonc - twice), but instead it was a note from Falias.
Brows rose as he read it, Celsus wiping youma dust from his forehead, a small smile tugging at his lips. After a moment, a response was given, painstakingly slowly and carefully, because he was never good at this sort of thing, after all.Quote: Falias - It would be my honor to meet with you and to accompany you to your Wonder. I will meet you at the arranged time and place. It took him a little bit to find said time and place, but at least he made it, Celsus catching the power signature as it wafted towards him. He lifted a hand in greeting, a smile spreading across his face as he ambled towards the other knight.
"Good evening," he said lightly. "How are you this evening, Falias?"litian sorry for late reply /cries

Falias didn't have to wait too long for Celsus' answer.
It had come 20 or so minutes after his initial message, the answer one of agreement.
And so he had waited, casually standing near one of the basketball hoops, a large flashlight resting against one booted foot, because Falias had brought it along with the intention of leaving it out there on his Wonder.
He caught the flare of aura first, before catching sight of the knight, raising his left hand in a greeting of his own as the red-haired knight stepped into sight.
"Good evening" his lips quirked up in an answering smile. "Thanks for coming." His smile took on a rueful slant "We're in the run up to halloween so I've been pretty lately - but I ended getting surprise cover over at the shop so I thought I'd make the most of it."
Because getting booted out by his father to his own devices counted as surprise cover didn't it...?
Well at least Falias was going to count it as such.

Falias was a good knight with a good head on his shoulders; Celsus found him easy to be around, which was always a bonus, since he rarely felt comfortable around anyone these days, save for a few. He gave a nod of his head, a small laugh escaping.
"That's all right, I understand. I'm glad that you could make it today, it's been a little bit since we've spoken. How have you been? Please - "
Celsus gestured to the other knight.
"Walk with me and speak with me, tell me how things are going before we speak of the rings."

Falias nodded and reached down to pick up the flash light before falling into step with the other Knight.
"Well not much's been happening for me powered-wise" he admitted "I've managed to power up occasionally, but not really for long."
In fact the last time that he had spent any real time powered was probably the day that Scholomance had handed out the new knight ring upgrade to those on Olympus.
His voice turned amused "I've spent my days being various things on the non-powered front from being a pirate to being an elf."
He continued in explanation "I tend to dress up when at the shop - since it's a good way of showcasing the different costumes."

Falias' company was much appreciated; Celsus cast him a sideways glance, feeling at ease in the other man's presence, something that was rarer these days than normal. He wished it wasn't so; there were still parts of him that were holding back, but at least for now he could do what was best for his brigade members.
"Is there a reason why?' he asked gently, now, Celsus's brow furrowing in concern. "Ah, why you don't power up for long, I mean to say. I mean - dressing up as a pirate and an elf sounds quite delightful," he added, a laugh escaping. "I should like to come by and visit your shop when I can. I just want to know if there's anything that I can do for you to make you feel more comfortable as Falias."

For a moment green eyes looked puzzled at Celsus' question and then looked slightly rueful as the meaning behind the question sunk in "I think I said that wrong."
The ruefulness was reflected in his voice as he continued "To be honest right now the time that I get to power up is limited because the only real time that I'm getting at the moment, generally tends to be after closing - although I'm expecting it to get better after Halloween passes."
Well at least until the lead up to Christmas and New Year started - although to be honest Halloween was always the busiest period of the year for him.
He hesitated and then admitted "Powering up - being Falias - it's not always something that I've been comfortable with." In fact there was a long period where he hadn't wanted anything to do with being a knight at all.
It was a rare admission coming from him "But it's something I've been working on."
He had promised as part of his promise on the stone that he would keep moving forward and it was a promise that so far he he had kept and a promise that he intended to continue to keep.

"Ah!" Celsus gave a nod of his head, understanding slowly dawning. "I see what you mean now. It's not that you necessarily don't want to power up, it's simply trying to make time to do so in the first place. Forgive me, I misunderstood your meaning."
It was understandable; their lives were all twisted together, after all, powered and civilian. Sometimes it was hard to find the balance between the two, something that Celsus was still attempting to struggle with after all these years as a Knight. He at least had more free time, these days, without classes.
Celsus's expression had gentled. "It hasn't always been something I've been comfortable with, either," he said quietly. "Ah - being Celsus, I mean. It's...it's been a long, hard road, sometimes I thought that I...that everything would have been better if I had not been a knight."
He took a breath, Celsus giving the smallest shake of his head.
"It's admittedly still a little hard," he said, a rueful smile on his face. "But as you have said, you're working on it, and so am I."
