Kaleo had not really been planning on imbuing, not until he was settled with a partner, anyway. He was a bit of a hopeless romantic and his perfect mental image of what he wanted in life definitely involved someone to raise a child or several with. But life, as usual, had other plans for him it seemed. Despite being so far away from home (on purpose, he might add) he still felt an immense amount of pressure from family to imbue. It was time, they said. Everyone else did it at this age, they said. Find a nice Naiad fellow and get on with it.
He'd been trying to ignore them for months, but sometime at the end of September a soulstone was delivered to his house. Well. That he couldn't ignore. He knew how his family was- sooner or later they'd show up in person to apply more pressure- and like usual he'd end up bending to their will. 'You want to do this anyway! You've always talked about having a family.' That would be their reasoning, and they weren't wrong, he did want to do it anyway.
Kaleo had resigned to just imbuing, showing them through pictures that it was, in fact imbued, and then not actually awakening it. They couldn't be upset about that... could they? He'd imbued, the family line was going to continue on after him eventually. Surely they could understand him waiting until he actually found someone he wanted to settle with.
At least, that was what he thought before both of his parents showed up on his flower shop doorstep midway through the next month.
