He couldn't help the smile on his face as he watched another batch of freshlings being chaperoned and marched towards his door. He refilled his bowl of candy to make sure there was a good selection, not that he worried about running out. He didn't have much of a sweet tooth (though sweet he was) and there wasn't anyone in his apartment he had to keep an eye out for.
It's not like he was always home but the times he was, well, it's started to feel a lot emptier than it used to be. And it's not like it was still the same bachelor pad he'd gotten for himself once his career started picking up. He'd hired contractors and made it livable for two, even three Nightmares. On the one hand, he could easily imbue a stone on his but Jerome liked being around others. He even had friends who were expressing the same sentiment of wanting freshlings of their own.
As he handed out the candy, the adult with the group informed him this was the last batch for the night. Freed up for the rest of the evening, Jerome changed clothes and headed to his favorite bar to give a proposition to his favorite bar owner. He didn't worry whether she would be in that night, the bar was always busiest during holidays.
He only hoped she'd have time for him.
