Rumors are spreading of a traveler who has entered the area. Apparently, this traveler has a strange item they claim comes from a different time. It's hard to believe what people are saying, and the only way to really know what is going on is if you see it with your own eyes. So, you make it a point to travel to where the traveler was last sighted, and as you approach you notice a crowd. The traveler is holding up an object, high above their head, and shouting across the crowd. Some approach to get a closer look, some appear fearful, but everyone can agree...this is something no one has ever seen before.
What exactly is the traveler showing off? Roll 1d6 to determine what strange item has been found using the guide below:
Rolled 1-2
The traveler pulls out a strange piece of metal, warped a bit on the edges and covered with an unknown language. It looked similar to what you've read, and you think you can make out words, but overall it doesn't make much sense.
Rolled 3-4
The traveler pulls out a strange piece of metal, wound around and almost bouncy in nature. It seems a bit sharp on the edges, but in general it looks like it could possibly be some sort of jewelry piece, if it was smaller.
Rolled 5-6
The traveler pulls two strange pieces of metal, which don't seem to go together outside of their color. One is covered in a language that sort of looks familiar, but isn't fully legible. The other is a winding spiral, which is too big to wrap comfortably around a wrist.
Make sure to respond with your reaction to these items. What do you think they could be?

The day was bright, the sun trickling through the tree limbs and with a light step a young woman was moving her way through the forest. Shima was being bad again, and it wasn't that she was intending to disobey her mothers rules and concerns, but she couldn't stand being cooped up any longer. So she was taking a break as it was from her punishment which was to stay within the borders of Jahaur and not to leave the forest under any means any least not unchaperoned. This also meant she wasn't allowed anywhere near the dying part of the forest, or to the beaches that were the outlying parts of the forest and so her range was very limited. It caused her to frequent many of the villages and towns in her desperate attempt to rid herself of boredom.
She was still working on trying to capture a familiar so she could begin her training as a Guardian and so she spent a large majority of time away from home anyway. She was quickly becoming acquainted with worn trails many by earthling and animal alike. The particular path she was following this day would led her to a village where she hoped to pick up a sweet or two before returning to her hunt for a pet. Upon arrival barely entering the town she was amazed to see a large gathering of people huddling close to a individual.
They were standing on a box of sorts two items above their head. In a very charismatic manner he was asking the crowd if they had ever seen anything like it. Raising it above his arms so it could glitter and glint in the days sun. Once would almost expect him to proclaim its magical properties and try to sell it off to one of the poor saps around him.
Tilting her head she squinted her eyes trying to get a better look of what it was that he had in his hands. There was two objects and they appeared to be..metallic but they weren't weapons. Pushing her way through so she could get a closer look at the foreign looking items she gave them a more careful scrutiny. One looked a like a pounded sheet of metal, nothing incredible though perhaps the most notable thing was the fact it didn't look like any metal she had seen before as well ...it looked like one piece of something much larger. She wondered what it could of belonged to. Something that flat...being apart of something larger it could of been countless things. A piece of a puzzle that may never find the rest of the picture.
Now the other item in his hand was much more interesting. A spiral shape of wire? No it looked too firm to be just wire...how was something like that even made? It was very interesting to look at as it was obvious that it was too large to be a bangle for the arm of any earthling. Perhaps it was meant for a creature? Though...wouldn't it rub? The ends weren't covered so it appeared to dig in or at least it looked like it would. It also looked pretty solid for a coil of metal so it wouldn't move much would it?
Standing on her tip toes she tried to get a better looked the spiral, The crowd around here pushed and shoved and didn't allow her to inch any closer than she was before, in fact..she was fairly certain she had been pushed back somehow. Grumbling to herself the yougn woman felt she would need to handle the strange thing before she could make any sort of guesses to its purpose. Returning her gaze back to the plate, in the glint of the sun she noticed something new. Oh! There was...letters? Writing? Something was etched into it. But even her poor grasp of the written language she could recognize that it was no language she knew.
There was a low chattering growing in the crowd that had gathered, it buzzed with excitement, fear and skepticism. . Shima could sense the unease that was building. People feared the unfamiliar and the unknown. From the stories she had heard from bother her mothers there had been many wars in the past years. In their own life time it seemed like something was boiling just below the surface. Threatening to start another war.
This was her que to leave. The crowd was growing restless, countless unanswered questions were being flung at the traveler. A fight was going to break out at this point. As she backed her way out of the crowd she heard bits and pieces of peoples opinion. Hoax, charlatan, another rebellion... it was hard to grasp but Shima felt her insides turn into a knot. As much as she wanted to protect people, she had a long way to go when it came to facing hostility. It was time to retreat for now...go back home.
