He hadn't meant for things to escalate in such a fashion, but as the door slammed announcing his brother leaving the house Ashta had to fight the urge to punch something. If you are so worried about her welfare why don't YOU marry her!? His brothers words rang in his mind, it had pierced his heart. He couldn't admit to his younger brother that he was in love with his fiance, not when Kyruie was finally showing signs of shaking his drug habit. A woman would do him good, keep him on the straight and narrow and regardless of what Ashta thought soon Kyruie would be stronger than he was all the intensive training was paying off. Keeping his brother from going to visit their 'charge' as well from having no time to sneak off to do bad things. Rubbing his face he looked up at the ceiling before sighing. Ashta was doing his best to keep himself in check when around Sriina. But seeing her so often...having to push that fake smile around their parents while with Kyruie frustrated him. Ashta had a hunch that his brother was more into men than women and perhaps he felt that such tastes had been influenced by his slave master...so he had counted this arranged marriage like a blessing in disguise. Only to find out it was torture for everyone involved. Well everyone besides the oblivious parents. Alone in the house he grabbed his cloak and holstered his swords before leaving the house. Without realizing where his feet were taking him he found himself in front of Sriina's house, he had already knocked on the door before he could figure out a reason for why he had come here.

Sriina had been relaxing in the family room, her parents both out for the night at their friends' house, leaving her to reading by herself, something she enjoyed quite a lot. She was already in the middle of her second book when she could hear a knocking at the door.
It took her by surprise, she wasn't expecting any visitors; Amari hadn't even been in town for weeks, so it wouldn't have been her best friend. And the knocking sounded urgent, or at the very least in a rush.
She quickly put the book to the side and when she pulled the door back to reveal who was on the other side she was more than surprised. It was Ashta. She hadn't seen him in quite some time now, not one on one like this, not since the tournament in Oba. She could feel her stomach already twisting gently at the sight of him.

Standing outside he was still wondering if there was still a chance for him to leave..or hope that no one was home the door was opened and he was standing there staring at Sriina. He marveled a moment at how pretty she was, and how even as kids she had always been cute but time had really changed her. Though he supposed idly that time had changed everyone rather drastically. "Ah..sorry to bother you like this.." Ashta muttered looking down at the ground so he wasn't just staring at her. "Do you mind if I come in?" He prompted awkwardly, why was he here? Was he instinctively following his brothers words? Checking up on his brothers fiance? With ulterior motives? No no...he was just here to check on her. Wait..what ulterior motives? His face flushed slightly as he realized his train of thought had slipped into cheating territory. Ah no...that wasn't right.

She could feel the odd situation and the awkwardness that just seemed to pour out of Ashta. What was even going on, what was he here for?
She stammered briefly before moving to the side of the door allowing him to enter. "Yes, sure. Come in I guess." She gave a little wave with her hand, gesturing him in.
"How... are you doing?" She asked hesitantly. What she really wanted to ask was, 'why are you here?' not that she didn't mind him over, not that she hadn't thought about him before in her off time, wondering what he was up to. But it was... odd, his behavior tonight. she wasn't used to this, that was for sure. She almost wanted to ask if something was wrong, but she would keep her thoughts to herself for now.

There was that moment of pause, he had asked if he could come inside and she was allowing him to. So why was he lingering in the door way? Taking perhaps too many extra seconds he then strode inside, this was the first time he had been in her house and he gave a glance around before noting the book.
"Ah..I am sorry am I interrupting you?" He inquired feeling stupidier as the minutes past on. He wasn't a pubescent kid,but a adult he should be able to have a conversation with Sriina right?
"I..well I am not sure..Sriina, do you think ..how I am teaching Kyruie is right? I mean..." a hand came up to his face as if he now cursed himself for saying anything at all.

Sriina looked down to the book still in her arm and back to Ashta, her mind drawing a brief blank. "Oh. Ah, well no. It's alright." She looked around at the furniture around her before putting the book down on a table to her left. "I was just finishing anyways."
Ashta sputtered out a question and Sriina was a bit confused. This was why he was here? To ask about Kyruie? About his training? She sucked in a breath, she didn't know why she was disappointed. Had she been hoping for more? It was hard for her to tell, but her stomach seemed to know the answer. She just wished it would just tell her already. "I... don't see a problem with it?" She couldn't really answer him. Kyruie didn't seem worse off for it, but Sriina still didn't know too much about her future husband. The words - even in her thoughts - struck a sour note.

Rubbing the back of his neck he watched her place the book down he noted a small chance in her tone. He really was stupid wasn't he? Bringing up his brother which was obviously a ..touchy subject to everyone as a whole.
"I'm..sorry...about..everything." Ashta manages as he moves to sit down, "I know my brother..is a pain..distant..." Trailing off he wasn't entirely sure why he brought his brother up again. What was he trying to do? Convince himself that Sriina was a good match for his brother? Remind himself that he wasn't allowed to have feelings for her?
"Tell me...honestly...you don't love my brother do you?" Ashta murmured looking to the floor as he couldn't imagine the expression she would have on her face with this question.

She pursed her lips at Ashta's next question. He couldn't be that blind, could he? How was she supposed to love someone who was chosen for her? Someone who didn't want to give her the time of day, and to be totally honest, she didn't care, because she didn't love him. She shook her head, "No, and how could I? I'm just doing as my parents ask. Whatever I can for them. Feelings doesn't have much to do with it really." she sighed.
It wasn't what she would have chosen for herself. But Ashta's eyes on her, the look he was giving her, it had her stomach revolting. Soon she would reach the answer she had been too preoccupied to see. What she would rather have was Ashta himself.

Watching her he felt his hands twist around each other, why did he feel so relieved to hear her say that? That she didn't love him. But then..this was a marriage of convenience then? HIs parents wanting to have Kyruie settle down and move on from his terrible past...he should be routing for this. He too wanted his brother to move on with his life...so why did he find the words so bitter in his mouth?
"ah.."
That was his response...he couldn't think of anything else to say and he was starting to have doubts about why he came here. What was his purpose? Was he so spurned on by his brothers exclamation he had to come and reaffirm his feelings? Perhaps..and he wasn't liking what he realized. He was angry at his brother because he was getting what he could not...
Standing up he moved back towards Sriina, it was strange to be faceing her like this, swallowing he reached a hand up to cup her cheek. His fingers were rough from training and strong but her held her very gently.
"Sriina..if things were different..maybe..."

Sriina waited for a response, something from Ashta that would give her some sort of relief. But his response was lackluster. 'Ah.' That was it. She felt her eyes shift away from his gaze, she didn't know what she had been hoping for, but this wasn't it.
What was it that she wanted? She couldn't answer that. Were her feelings really for Ashta, or just for a life she wouldn't have? She couldn't have what she wanted with Kyruie alone. He wasn't interested, and she had heard the rumors. She didn't take much stock in rumors, but word was he wasn't interested in her for more reasons than just her personality.
Ashta came closer, and with a shock through her system he placed a hand to her cheek. They were warm, they were comforting, and altogether surprising. She hung on his words. If things were different... what? What could happen if things were different? "Hmmm?" was all she could manage.

Ashta's brain screamed at him, told him that this was a bad idea and he should remove his hand from her skin immediately. If he didn't want to get hurt...to hurt her he needed to walk away and NOW. Yes his brain and his body acted out of unison. Instead of moving his hand away he found himself staring into her golden eyes before he leaned over and lightly placed a kiss on her lips.
The kiss sealed his feelings for her. His resolve. He loved Sriina he didn't care that she was betrothed to his brother in fact it spurned him to want to cherish her move in his brothers stead. Kyruie didn't love her, but he could.
Moving his head back slightly after kissing her, he found himself wanting more. His free hand came to seek out one of her own, as if his fingers were hoping to intertwine with hers. Leaning in he went for a second kiss, this one less tenative but he was ready for her to push him away.

Sriina felt the initial flutter, that feeling of the unknown as Ashta leaned in closer, their lips touching lightly. Sriina closed her eyes in response, letting her body act on impulse.
Ashta pulled back and Sriina felt the instant stab of despair already. She felt like she needed more. He reached for one of her hands and she gladly accepted, lacing his fingers with hers as he leaned in for a second. It was Sriina this time who closed the space between the two of them, and she felt like she was nearly humming as the kiss turned from hesitant to passionate.
This was what she wanted, Ashta was what she wanted. Not Kyruie, not that life of a husband who wouldn't want her.

Ashta was expecting her to shy away to push him away but he was surprised to find her kissing him back, closing the gap. It was so passionate and he knew it was wrong so why did it feel right?
Moving his hands to cup the back of her head he returned the kiss wanting to kiss every part of her body, wanting to...
Well perhaps not in the foyer or her house..
Separating from the kiss, as if coming up for air he gave her a look suggesting more than just kissing. "Lead on.."

Sriina felt the heaviness of the kiss and returned it with excitement and intensity. When the kiss finally broke, Ashta beckoned her to take it behind closed doors.
She felt the fire in her body and knew she wanted more as well, though the quick flutter of panic struck. He was older than her, it might not be his first... encounter, but it would be hers.
She took his hand cautiously, leading him up the stairs and to her own room. Her parents wouldn't be home for quite some time and with a little more confidence she closed the door behind the two of them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sriina shook her head of braids and laid back onto Ashta's chest. She didn't know what to expect now. "Ashta..." She murmured, not completely sure what she was supposed to say. She was engaged to his brother...

It was quite an experience, he had loved every moment of it, the intensity the way they twined their bodies together. Though it had felt like it lasted for quite a while they were done. He had an arm wrapped around her shoulders bringing her in closer (if that was even possible) as he leaned to kiss her temple. "Hmm?" He inquired sleepily as she spoke his name, right now he wasn't worrying about anything. His mind was calm his body content he was just so happy that Sriina felt the same way he did that little things like the fact he just slept with his brothers fiance seemed minuscule. Ah...why did he have to let that niggling thought into his brain? Looking down at her his face flushed. He literally just betrayed his brother by sleeping with his fiance. Regardless of the fact that neither of them loved each other...it was for the good of his brother that this union was made in the first place. With a free hand he covered his face and leaned his head back against the pillow. What had he done? "I...I.." He didn't even know what to say, it was too soon to ruin this moment.
