He should have texted sooner but he hadn't, busy with school and work as well as other things. he had sent the text to Torin though. He'd kept it short, telling him he had something for him and his partner - it was business related. He figured that would keep anyone who might see his phone, or Torin's, from getting suspicious over the text.
he'd given a time and a place to meet, including the street and the store roof top he'd be on waiting for the other. He'd sent the message the day before, so the other had time to see the message and possibly rearrange his schedule. Seung didn't want to be rude or take the other away from any pre-planned things, not if he could help it, but it was coming close to 10'clock and Venice sat on a roof top in Korea town waiting.
At his side was a small bag, which he was making due with for now, that had the new ring updates inside as well as his medication in case anything actually did happen. He could smell, from down the block, the vendor roasting chestnuts. He had smelled that and immediately had sought out the vendor, with eyes only, and kept his distance from them...which also meant he wasn't on the roof top he'd planned on being on - oops.
On the plus side though was the bubble tea he had seated on the ground next to him, just about a third of the drink having been consumed, and a small foam container with food in it. Cheaper wooden chopsticks to eat with and he was helping himself...and making himself a sitting duck if someone decided to interrupt the late night meal. But he was hungry and he couldn't help himself.
The noise from people down below was soothing, something he was used to, the smells of frying foods and other things made him want to eat a little bit of everything...but he'd gain weight and get fat. Smiling as he brought his chopsticks to his mouth he easily got the noodles into his mouth and then reached for his drink.
Sipping slowly he shifted a bit before reaching into the small pack he had with him. Inside he was his cell phone which he pulled out, in order to check the time...and again close youtube...reopen it...search the video he wanted...pull it up and hit play. He had his headset in but since he didn't have the buds in his ears it was effectively silent. He was doing it to help the view count for the video go up. Back at home he was streaming the music on another two sites and he knew his cousin was doing the same, as well as viewing the youtube video as much as possible. Stashing his phone back into his pack he settled back to eating, drinking, and waiting. At least he had thought of a hoodie to wear over his vest so he could keep warm, it was too cold for just a vest now.

Summer had been the only painful season for Gevaudan, both his old uniform and knight one were meant for being kept warm and came with plenty of layers which meant he was usually unbuttoning and fanning himself during the humid peak of summer but comfortable most other seasons. Fall was a welcome relief from the hot nights of the past few months, but he did worry about Hawa now with his lack of any coverage. Aside from a pair of pants and a tiny vest, the man was not made to traverse snow and ice. Maybe he should learn to knit and make him a sweater he could wear during patrols........or he could just give him his jacket.
While he did not know what Venice wanted, he knew that being contacted must be serious and so he left home with a note to Hawa what he was up to and arrived in the busier district of Korean Town. While he didn't visit this area often, it smelled heavenly. Still, he was worried and paranoid with so many people about meeting with local street vendors for something to drink and eat.
Landing on the roof, he saw Venice was in like-spirits as he sat having a bite. "Any good? I never ate around here." He asked, wondering if Hawa would like something.

Looking up he smiled and held up the styrofoam container he had. "Try some - tell me. it's good." At least for him it was, it was a bite of home...a comfort for him. He had sensed the others approach but was surprised by the question, it was unexpected. "Can treat you to some food if you want. Good food here...just not the vendor down the block." That he wouldn't be getting near. It didn't throw him into a serious allergic reaction but it still caused a reaction,as far as he could figure.
Unfolding his legs he stretched a bit and motioned the other over. "Helped a knight of Saturn...was working on ring upgrade - very good one. Finally got bugs out, anyknown anyway." He started slowly before taking another bite of the almost clear noodles he had. "Finally made many to distribute. I know...don't have ring yet but upgrade you should have - is useful." It would prove very useful for people, at least he thought so. Maybe he could set his to picking up how bad a reaction he was having...incase he ever did have one, so someone like Tortuga could tell how bad and when it was getting better? He'd have to talk to him about that at another time.
"Brought many back from Olympus...for the kids...also for you and partner." Nodding to the pack he bad brought with him.
"Can explain them as well, even if you can't use now." Smiling up at the other from where he sat watching the other. Setting his chopsticks down, his drink already sitting on the roof top, he shifted about to grab at the pack he had with him. Moving his left sleeve out of the way before it got caught by the zipper, he had a small fresh bruise on the back of his hand, he reached into the open pack and took out the two little upgrades. "Go inside ring behind the stone, nice and hidden. Will keep vitals for health...can do basic things or more things. Another can see but not chaos...in case of emergency." Which for him would mean Tortuga or Shang could see it, he needed to know what he should put which may help them if he ever had some attack of allergies. Speaking of allergies...he had his three epipens in the same pack, he was using this for now...he was working on something better.

He held out his hand, taking the sliver of tech from Venice and stared down at his open palm. "Th...thanks." He managed, staring at it with a deep frown. "That was very thoughtful of you." And completely useless to him. The sudden weight of guilt rose up like a stone gargoyle and rested upon his shoulders. The ring.
It was something that was vital to all knights and one item he still never ventured to get. The other knights were making these vital upgrades, but he didn't even have the basics down.
Pocketing the upgrade, he glanced up nervously at the other. "So...you've tested it on your ring?"

Watching the other carefully he nodded. "Very few showed to the call...others took several to hand out. "So he had done the same, had planned to the moment he noticed no one from their little group. This was an upgrade they needed, it was useful and could really help in a battle, or even just a small fight.
"Mmm, beta tested. Got burned by it...bad readings too. Got fixed and should work now. Shows vitals...different stats for person - magic left, oxygen levels, temperature...and more. Only your stats but others can see also, pull them up, and can customize...pick what you want it to watch." Rolling his eyes then Venice grabbed his drink and held it up in silent offering to the other. It was with a good amount of ice, not too much, and medium sweetness with tapioca pearls in the bottom. It was black tea with milk as well. Something simple but good, and kinda cold...
"Sit...eat...drink?" He offered motioning to the roof top. "Or we go get food together?" He had no issue in treating the other to food, the other knight had asked and Venice had been the one to call him out here tonight.

He rose his hand up, declining it all together before over at Venice, or more specifically now, his hand.
"How long have you had your ring?" It sounded more like a soft accusation than a question.

Setting his food, and drink, aside for now he focused on the other the question posed to him. Somehow he didn't think the answer he'd give would be good, that the other would like it. He'd had his ring a while now where as the other hadn't...and he had a feeling that would be a sore spot. he was more than willing to help the other, he really was.
"May...Erebus helped...find it." Actually Erebus had been the one to find it and slip it onto his finger, the same one it was on now. And he waited, watched, wanting to see how the other would react. He wasn't sure what to expect but he doubted it would be good either way it went.

He continued staring at him, focused and fixed. "And what did you find there? At your wonder?"

Unsure where this was going, wondering if there was some point or something the other was seeking...a purpose to his questioning. Unknowing of the reason for the question he answered honestly.
"A mess...papers...office, costumes...settings design. Holes in floors...separate room for writings - can't read them. Code piece and ancestor..." Was there something specific the other was looking for? An answer he wanted..something more narrow?
"Something maybe wanting to know? Specific thing?" He questioned softly, unsure of his words.

He rose his hand up to quiet Venice. His questioning had reason, but he didn't need to tell Venice everything. "Was that the only power there? The only force? The Code piece?"

Falling silent he nodded to the next question. "Yes...haven't been everywhere...so maybe missed something. But nothing yet." He knew he hadn't investigated his whole wonder and his senses weren't as...strong as others, as those with more power. But he hadn't sensed anything thus far.
Was something wrong? There had to be a reason for the questions, and he knew it, he doubted it was good either. Something had to be wrong...but what? His food was well forgotten right now, in favor of these questions and the worry. Something wasn't right and he was sure of it; he just didn't know what.

He looked away, looking at the people that moved about and moved to the edge to stare down at them. "I wouldn't talk with full freedom at your wonder. I wouldn't drop my guard there. Each wonder is a danger - and the Code is your biggest risk. It may supply us power, but it's also a weakness without clear motives."

Now he was concerned, worried, and staring at the other as he wondered just what was going on - what had happened? "What happened? Know something...but how?" And just what did the knight know. He had never had an issue talking with his ancestor but was that a risk?
"Ancestor also?" He questioned. He trusted the older knight, the former knight of Venice. He would like to think his ancestor wouldn't turn on him or their wonder...or would be a dishonorable sort. But could he be?
"Is something going on? Something bad?" He asked turning fully to face the other from where he sat on the roof top. His dark eyes focused on the other and blinking only when they needed to, the other had his full attention. He couldn't see the people below but he could certainly hear the sounds from them. The sounds of people shouting, cars, and other various sounds. "Is because of code that was poisoned by chaos?" Was that was this was because of or had something else happened or been done?

"I don't know about your ancestor. I just know the Code was corrupted before and one one even knew what to do or what was going on until we just stumbled upon the piece that was captured during our attack. If Cadeus hadn't shown up, if those knights hadn't decided to deviate from the original plan and check out the other areas, we would still all be with a power source corrupted by chaos. We could just all wind up as Negaverse soldiers just because ONE chaos piece is taken. Any rookie gets a wonder taken and that piece placed right back in their hands and we're ALL <********>." This was the gravity of the situation, and on one seemed to care about it. Everyone just felt the problem was solved once they purified the Code piece that was taken, but the security risk was still there for all of them.
They were all attacked to a power that could be corrupted at any point EASILY. That was the truly terrifying point of it, and the Code wasn't even a person. It was just another emotionless force like Metallia that had power to give, power not even their own, that could just change it's mind at any point for it's own purposes.

This was true...it had been corrupted and it could happen again - couldn't it. Who would bring that piece to chaos though? He'd like to think that no knight would...but he was sure there was at least one knight in the lot of them who weren't satisfied and might do something like that. Bringing something like that with you would certainly sweeten the deal if one wanted to change sides. The idea was...unsettling to say the least. Was this sort of worry always on the others mind?
There were surely other ways it could happen also, where a piece could land in the hands of chaos, and no one would know...for how long? The last one had been down there for how long ?A thousand years? Less...more?
"We cannot do anything....no way to keep safe or keep tabs on all pieces. Could move the piece from the moon...but other knights pieces...at risk also." Weren't they all then? if a knight decided to take their piece to earth and hand it over? Could they even do that though? This wasn't something he'd ever thought about and right now he was sort of glad he hadn't.
"But yes, see the problem with talking around code..." But the walls didn't have minds...or ears. He was safe down in the living quarters talking to his ancestor, or he should be.
