The park was a safe place, even when Remarque didn’t need one. Sometimes, when he wasn’t gathering energy or doing general Dark Mirror things, he found himself walking around here just because. It was a good place to clear his mind.
He was there, sometimes, because he didn’t feel like he needed to be anywhere else--and tonight it felt like he was just in the right place at the right time.
Mostly because he had come just to walk around--and then he felt the pleasant tingle of another Dark Mirror Senshi.
Naturally, he was keen to seek it out, figuring it was either someone he knew or someone he didn’t--and both were a pleasant option.
Without hesitation, he sought the signature out. He came up behind Juliet and saw her when he was only a few yards away. Not meaning to scare her, he was quick to make sure she knew exactly where he was.
“Evening,” he greeted, almost immediately convinced he hadn’t met her before. “Having a good night?” he asked, pushing away from the trees he’d just woven between to get here.Daekie I hope this is okay! If it needs any changes, let me know!

"Good evening," Juliet greeted back polite as could be, somewhat nonplussed by the sudden company but knowing better than to show it because she was a Good and Polite Girl. Manners were very important, after all. So many people lacked. "It's a lovely night out, yes. I was actually going to go home shortly, but - if you don't mind the company, I suppose I'd be alright sticking around for a while longer, as long as we don't get into any fights." Kyuseisha no Hikari wow this took me FOREVER, sorry for length!

”Fights?” Remarque prompted, raising a brow. “I’ve got no reason to fight you. You’re a Dark Mirror Senshi, after all. That makes us teammates, I should think.”
He shrugged and extended a hand as he introduced himself. “My name is Remarque, Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry. And, while it is a pleasure to meet you, I wouldn’t dream of keeping you from home if you were headed out. I’m just surprised to see a Senshi I haven’t yet met. Always a bit excited. The Court is so small, you know.”

"I supposed it would be a good thing to bring up," Lily just smiled back, polite and poised as everything. "This sort of thing does tend to involve fights, yes? I've been lucky so far, but I have little hope it will continue forever." She tipped her head up, looking at his emblazoned overlay with blank eyes, taking his hand and shaking it with the lightest of grips. "Juliet, Dark Mirror Senshi of Whiteouts." She curtsied, posture perfect. "I wasn't headed anywhere, actually, so you're no trouble, I promise."

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Juliet,” Remarque said, releasing her hand after they had a moment to shake.
”You are correct, though. This sort of thing does, sometimes, result in fights,” Remarque said, almost sounding a bit disappointed. The truth was, he missed fighting. He just had to reel things in to further the cause of the Dark Mirror Senshi. He hadn’t had a real opponent in quite some time--but, perhaps it was for the best.
“It is better to be prepared, though. Better safe than sorry. You don’t have to start fights, but it’s good to know how to end them. Or, at least buy you some time until you can get away. Do you have anyone to spar with?”

"I have no-one to spar with, no." She didn't sound disappointed -- after all, she didn't sound anything except polite and neutral. "I have no prior experience with physical confrontation, but I'm not interested in hurting others - only in protecting myself. My parents would be terribly worried if I came home injured, after all." And they would be. Juliet was always gentle and polite and wormed her way out of trouble - she'd come home with bruises from her kidnapping, once, and had passed it off as a sleepover. (If they trusted her, it was hard to say. She wasn't very good at reading people.)

Remarque nodded, and though he kept his face impassive he wasn't sure what to make of her polite demeanor. He was used to things getting rough--and he could handle it. He was durable, and confrontational when need be. He could get dirty, but he could defend himself--well, he liked to think.
Juliet seemed fragile, but perhaps it was only because he was blinded by his own experience and rank.
"Perhaps we can, sometime, then. If you don't want to start fights, that's fine. But there are those that will start them for you. If you only want to learn to defend yourself, you can focus on that. I can teach you to redirect some attacks, and self defense--and I am sure there are other members of the Dark Mirror Court who would be willing to do the same, if you'd like?"

"Only if you're sure," Juliet said, diction dictionary-perfect. "I wouldn't want to impose -- drawing you away from your other responsibilities would be a nightmare, really." It was honest, or at least as honest as anyone could tell. She would defend herself because she'd been asked to keep safe - not out of any personal desire for her own return. She really wasn't that important, after all. But if it made people smile to see her unharmed, she would attempt her best at making it so those smiles continued. Their happiness was much more important than hers -- she wasn't quite sure what her own even was. "I do need to balance my familial responsibilities and school with this, however, so I don't take this form particularly often."

"I don't mind," Remarque insisted. "Trust me, making sure the members of the Dark Mirror Court is my responsibility."
It wasn't just that they were small in numbers or that they were struggling to reach their goal; he honestly felt like he had some duty to do what he could to ensure that the other Dark Mirror Senshi volunteering their time and energy were a well equipped as possible to handle the things they'd face in this war.
He waved his hand somewhat nonchalantly.
"Don't worry about how often you take this form. As often as you can is good enough. I know how hard it is to balance this life and the other. Do what you have to. It means enough that you're just powering up when you can."
How could he judge her, anyway? It wasn't like it was easy to sneak out if you were too young. He was fortunate to be at a point in his life where he could manage. Others weren't there yet--and the Dark Mirror Court was still rocky. They needed to pave the way for the newer, or younger, senshi, to make it so this was something they could do.
Something they wanted to do.
Those things didn't just happen overnight, anyway.

"As long as you're alright with it," Juliet admitted, and said no more on that subject. "I don't wish to be a disappointment, but I have duties outside of this, and it happens that balancing them ends up with this form - this life - taking a position far in the back." Her teeth were perfectly aligned, perfectly white. "I do promise I'm collecting energy as I can - but my life is extremely regimented, so making the time for it is quite difficult." Kyuseisha no Hikari wanna fade to black and do a training rp sometime?

Remarque just offered her a smile. "You're still young. Don't stress. Do what you can, when you can, and that's enough. I don't expect you to bend over backwards or change everything to make room for the Dark Mirror Court." He gave her a quick, light pat on the shoulder.
"Most of us didn't know what we were getting into when we joined. Most of us didn't have a choice. I'd like to think we get a little freedom in how we perform for the Court. Not really a lot of room to judge people who don't have a lot of time. So don't worry about it."
He wasn't going to.
They'd do what they could, when they could.
One day they'd figure this whole Dark Mirror Court thing out.
