It came from a number he didn't know, because it turned out the professor and the officer never had much reason to correspond. When Shun received a text from an unknown number, he was a little suspicious. He went ahead and listened to see what it was, and thankfully Algernon made it known it had come from him. He had a few ideas of what he may wish to talk about, given how close the Professor was to Heliodora. Most likely, Jeremiah had informed his spouse of what had happened, though he wasn't sure what the extent was. In any case, he went ahead and fired off a response. blade kuroda to: Shun From: Algernon 12pm. lunch tomorrow in the quad at the college Alg was there with his usual leather satchel full of papers for grading and books. There was a stone table and benches under some trees that should keep them safe if the smatterings of rain struck up again, but for now the sky was overcast but clear.

Shun arrived on time, looking around as he entered the quad. It took him a moment before he spotted Algernon at one of the stone tables under a tree. He made his way over, seating himself opposite of the man. "Professor," he greeted.

Alg was most immediately thinner than Shun had last seen him. Their encounter in the rain hadn't actually been that long ago, but Algie looked like he'd been both dieting and working out for an extended period of time. He had a fresh shave and haircut which made the thin of his face, the definition of his jaw even that more noticeable. "Shun," He smiled politely and motioned to a seat opposite him. They were safe away from prying ears. His expression was pleasant if not guarded and a leatherbound journal, the one he always carried, was tapped lightly under his fingertips. "I think we're safe here should we get a shower."

Shun nodded in turn as he seated himself, setting the lunch he had packed onto the table for the time being. He didn't take its contents out just yet, however. Alg had notibly lost weight, though... it was a little bit of a startling change, considering it really wasn't that long ago since he had last seen the Professor. "Is everything alright? You have lost weight."Thinning out like that in a short timeframe typically wasn't healthy.

Alg's hand rubbed one of his cheeks, he kept forgetting that he'd slimmed a bit. He wasn't thin and still had a bit of a belly but he was much more defined, less jiggle, and it was obvious that he had some bulk and power in the width of his shoulders and chest. "Yes I was, ah, away," Alg's fingers slid over his journal reverently a moment before it was flipped open and he was thumbing through pages, "Which is partly why I texted you to meet. Because in here it says we ran into one another after I saw you in other ashdown with the trashcan." He glanced over his glasses, which were also new frames, "It wasn't me.. who you spoke with."

There was a pause as the detective took this in. Wait. If this was the case, then... "Damn. You too?" he groaned, "Both you and Jeremiah..."Granted, his experience with the fetch version of Algernon was not nearly as bad as his encounter with Jeremiah's. No. Alg was just... a little cooky, to put it in a way. "Please tell me it was not ******** Melany who took you."292

"No," Alg made a face, " God no. Oh Jesus Christ, Melany. Is she still here?" He'd almost forgotten all about her with everything that had happened. Maybe they'd hunted her down or perhaps she'd gone back to the otherside... Not ideal really. He could only assume she would be just as powerful again on that side.

A heavy sigh escaped the detective, "No. She is back on the other side, last I heard."He was still bitter about that. It was probably only a matter of time before she stole people away again and put them through a living hell. If only he had just... Shun stopped himself there for now. He didn't want to start spiraling down that path right this moment. There might be more that Algernon wished to discuss beyond informing him that he had dealt with a fetch last time he saw the man. "Well. If it makes you feel any better, your fetch did not do anything to me. He just... I am not quite certain how to describe it. Acted slightly like a senile old man? Not quite. But almost."422

Alg frowned a bit, "It's not very reassuring honestly." The professor rubbed a hand over his brow, pinkish scrapes were evident over his knuckles, healed but Shun would recognize them as evidence he'd spent some significant amount of time hitting things. "It just means he was good at being me," His mouth formed a momentary hard line and he sighed.

"I suppose that is... one way of putting it," he replied slowly. Shun ran a hand through his hair as he eyed the hands of the Professor. He was more than familiar with scrapes such those. It seemed that he may have been put through a wringer, of sorts. "I am... uncertain of how long ago you have returned from your ordeal, but I take it you may have heard from your husband as to recent events?"422

"Yes," Alg sighed. Where previously there may have been some hard pang of emotion at Heliodora's loss, there was definitely sadness but nothing more. It had been something he'd long expected at this point and after Adoelle, he'd become dulled towards. "Which I suppose is the other reason I thought we should speak. Hearing things second hand from Jeremiah is all well and good but I thought I'd like to hear if from you yourself." He glanced up, very green eyes over the rim of his glasses. "It was fast and quiet I hope?" His voice had lowered.

Shun watched Algernon's reaction carefully. Thankfully, he seemed more resigned to the matter right now. They both knew it was pretty much an inevitability after Adoelle had been killed. Still, the other man knew her more personally than he did. "It was. I made sure of it," he replied quietly. It was a highly sensitive matter to be talking about on this side of the veil. Things could potentially take a very bad turn for him if it got out. There wasn't exactly a good way to explain what had transpired to the uninitiated. There, of course, would not be any evidence anywhere. But it would still be more trouble than it was worth. "She is counting on us."541

Alg nodded, fingers smoothing over his journal, which had closed again. He didn't seem to keep his hand off of it. "What did she tell you? About what's coming?" Again, even if Jeremiah had given him an idea, he'd like to hear it from the source. As well as details. "Jeremiah said something about the sealing spell? As a last resort?"
