Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Rumors are spreading of a traveler who has entered the area. Apparently, this traveler has a strange item they claim comes from a different time. It's hard to believe what people are saying, and the only way to really know what is going on is if you see it with your own eyes. So, you make it a point to travel to where the traveler was last sighted, and as you approach you notice a crowd. The traveler is holding up an object, high above their head, and shouting across the crowd. Some approach to get a closer look, some appear fearful, but everyone can agree...this is something no one has ever seen before.

What exactly is the traveler showing off? Roll 1d6 to determine what strange item has been found using the guide below:

Rolled 1-2

The traveler pulls out a strange piece of metal, warped a bit on the edges and covered with an unknown language. It looked similar to what you've read, and you think you can make out words, but overall it doesn't make much sense.

Rolled 3-4

The traveler pulls out a strange piece of metal, wound around and almost bouncy in nature. It seems a bit sharp on the edges, but in general it looks like it could possibly be some sort of jewelry piece, if it was smaller.

Rolled 5-6

The traveler pulls two strange pieces of metal, which don't seem to go together outside of their color. One is covered in a language that sort of looks familiar, but isn't fully legible. The other is a winding spiral, which is too big to wrap comfortably around a wrist.

Itotia was traveling down to the market, followed by a younger dancer who was responsible for assisting her on errands. The boy was a bit green, and easily intimidated, so it left her with little conversation. He seemed to prefer looking down to the ground and mumbling one-word responses than looking her in her eyes. Maybe it was the silver cold coloring, or maybe it was her narrowed eyes, but Itotia really didn't care. He was efficient and was moving with her, and that was all that mattered when they needed to shop in the city. She didn't have time for sputtering fools, and this dancer was the most competent of the new bloods.

As Itotia moved forward, she would simply raise her arm and point to vendors she wanted the boy to go to. He too had a list of what they needed to buy, as well as some coin, and would scurry off quickly to purchase the items while Itotia went to her own vendors. They split up the work, and as a result finished it quite quickly.

As they moved down the vendor alley, their cart steadily filling with silks, meals, drinks, and other entertainment focused items, Itotia began to hear a bit of a noise. It seemed there was a gathering of sorts, right at the end where guest vendors would arrive from out of the city. They were loud, and often sported interesting items like fur or colored dyes. It was a nice finish to the trip, because Itotia could identify anything she was missing and most often discover them in the foreign vendors. Lately, however, she visited the location less and less because more foreigners were making a point to settle in Sulburi.

It was very easy these days to get wool from Zena, or dyes from Sauti, or even feathers from Tale. The hardest items, of course, were those from the Alkidike sisterhood or from her home island. Although, most didn't seem keen on Yaeli crafts unless they were curious; her home was bland compared to the colors of this land.

Itotia let out a sigh at that thought, her heart panging a beat as she regretted such an idea. Her home was beautiful, and full of life. This place was dry. Sure, they had gold, and colors, but that was nothing compared to the pains of the sandy homes and dry skin.

As she neared the loud noise, her assistant also approached her side. Turning, Itotia raised a brow for a second, before shaking her head.

"We've got everything we need. Hurry along and take the cart with you, I will join you shortly."

He looked to interject, but her sharp gaze silenced him and he only nodded, before rushing to pull the cart back to the Red Amaryllis. He was a good assistant, and hopefully one day he'd grow a back bone and be able to lead a bit on his own. It'd be nice to no longer worry about such tedious tasks like shopping.

As she approached the crowd, a flash caught her eye. A traveler was holding up a tablet, it seemed, which was shiny with a red-ish hue. It had markings she couldn't quite read, although they appeared faded. And the traveler was shouting about how it was a gift from the gods.

Itotia scoffed from her location in the shadows outside of the crowd, shaking her head. The traveler continued to shout about how this item was a sacred sign that the gods wanted to provide a message. They shouted about how the writing was clearly not readable, which meant it was even more holy. And then, the traveler pulled out a winding item that they claimed was another message of our fate. How it was spiraling out of control. It was all so religious and so complicated. Itotia still didn't understand what the religions were on the mainland.

Shaking her head, she looked at the item from the distance one last time. It looked like junk to her, something that was worthless that washed ashore. Her gods were clear with their messages; blessings and curses. One knew what to expect, but this was so trivial and meanless. It was open for interpretation, which didn't seem wise if a god wanted to guide their people.

Turning her back to the item, Itotia moved away from the crowd and back to the Red. She brushed the thought of the items from her mind, carefree and not concerned. If the mainlanders wanted to interpret god's will through such things, they could spend the rest of their life doing so. Itotia would focus on her own messages from her gods, as they were all that mattered.
