Chel had a hat and sunglasses pulled onto her face. She didn't want anyone to see her shopping in this store. For some reason she was a bit paranoid; moving out was a very big step and Chel wasn't sure she was ready to take it. She figured if she was going to have her own place she was going to need ... pillows maybe? What did house owners buy?
She was in an incognito mode, hoodie pulled up over her snapback and hair tucked away.
Right now she just wanted to look at pillows as though that was going to magically solve her housing crisis, but what she found was ... a man ... in the pillow pile ...
That didn't seem right and yet she kind of wanted to join him.

Technically speaking, Lutz was supposed to be working right now, but unless his manager was literally breathing down his neck, he took every possible opportunity to slack off.
The fact that he had been left entirely unattended today just meant that he took it as a free day to do whatever the hell he wanted which, being Lutz, meant taking a nap. Good thing there was no shortage of comfy beds and pillows for him to bum out on here.
When he heard the sound of footsteps approaching, he cracked one eye open to lazily stare up at the pink-haired girl before letting his eye slide back shut.
"Keep walkin'."

"I don't think I will," Chel said, raising an eyebrow. "You look pretty comfy there ..."
He looked almost like a cat; docile and happy to snooze. She was a little bit jealous; he seemed to have no stresses. She wanted to be a bit more like that.

"I am comfy," he agreed, grabbing one of the pillow that lay beside him and setting it on his stomach, "But I'm trying to nap, and that's kiiiinda hard when someone is looking at you, you know?"
He grabbed another pillow and set it on his chest. Then another.
It was like he was trying to hide in pillows the same way crabs dug themselves down in sand.

She noticed now that he was in the uniform of someone who worked at the shop. A cheese little polo and some nice pants. Interesting. She was definitely going to look into applying here later. Any place that let their employees sleep on the job ... she was kind of okay with it.
"Ain't you s'posed t'be workin'? They just let you sleep like that?" She didn't sound scolding in the least. In fact she sounded very interested and wanted to know much, much more.
She moved a little bit closer, intent on sitting on the pillows with him.

Lutz cracked an eye open again. (╭ರᴥ•́)"I wouldn't say that they 'let' me do this...but since my manager's not here right now, I decided to take a longer break than usual." Like a 3 hour one instead of 15 minutes.
He frowned a little when she moved closer then, holding a hand up to stop her. "Woah woah, hang on there, aren't you actually here to do something? Like, you know...buy s**t? Or try to find all the hidden Mickey's in shop or something?" He used the same hand that was already up in the air to gesture tot he far corner of the store. "Imma give you a hint: there's a mickey right there in the section with the bathroom curtains. And another somewhere in the kitchen area."
"Now if you'd rather go and visit some princesses, though, you've already found me: Sleeping Beauty. If you want to hunt down the others, you'll have to check the other departments."

"Solid," Chel said. She was all about fighting the "man." If that meant napping on your shift- ******** yeah.
She stopped as the guy held up a hand. He sure did talk a lot about disney ... was this disneyland for him?
A thought occured to her: maybe this was a legitimately crazy guy who only thought he worked here. Oh. That was so sad ...
"Nah I was just gonna test out all these pillows. They look crazy comfy."

"You can't come here just to experience the pillows," he protested, though his tone indicated that he was getting tired of trying to defend his little pillow pile and was close to just letting her join him, "You haveto experience all the magic that this place has to offer. It is the place of magic, after all. ...Place? Land?" What the hell was the Disneyland slogan?

"You know what, screw it. The best thing about this place is honestly the pillows, and I'd be a pretty shitty salesperson if I denied a customer of the experience."
He rolled over to make room for Chel, which left him laying facedown in the pillows. To be fair, he seemed perfectly okay with this.

Chel took her cue and squatted down next to her, leaning into some of the pillows. She just hoped they wouldn't get in trouble; she had a lot of mascara and hair dye that was definitely going to rub off on these pillows. RIP Lutz.
She took off her glasses because it was uncomfortable to lay there with them, but the hat and hood remained on.
"Why you tryin' so hard t'get me t'leave, hm hm?"

Lutz's voice was muffled by the pillows.
"Because it's kinda hard to get any shuteye with someone lurking around. Harder yet when you're sleeping right beside them, but..." he lifted a hand and half-heartedly flapped it in her general direction, "I can't blame you for wanting to be part of the only cool thing here."

Chel gave him a tiny pat on the back. Poor guy was either totally crazy or very overworked and underpaid. She suspected a combination of both. Poor thing.
"You talkin' bout the pillows, or the guy?" She gave a wink even to his backside. Chel was a shameless flirt at all times and guys passed out on pillow piles in Bed, Bath and Beyond were no exception.
Maybe she needed to set some standards for herself ...

Chel let out a low, rumbly chuckle. She never expected anything out of her flirting; it was just how her brain was wired to respond. If there was an opportunity to flirt with something or to crack a perverted joke, she was probably going to take it.
"Wow. Sorry to be such a homewrecker then." Chel patted the pillows beside her. "He don't mean it," she whispered to them. "He loves you most."
She laughed again, her nice earthy laugh. "Heads up, there's another chick in a polo comin' over." She began to pile pillows on top of Lutz. She was a good friend.

His shoulders visibly tensed at the mention of an approaching co-worker, but his curse was barely halfway out of his mouth when he realized that the girl was burying him in pillows. Was she...was she helping him?
...
"You're a real friend," he told her, one hand emerging briefly from within the sea of pillows to give her a thumbs, "The Disney heroine to my Disney princess. You can come back here to hang out anytime."

This guy had a weird obsession with Disney. There were worse things in life, she supposed.
"Sorry 'bout this," she said quietly before rolling over and laying on top of him for the time being, looking as though she was just relaxing on the pillows. Her sunglasses went back on and she pulled out her phone to pretend she was talking on it.
"Yeah babe, I dunno. M'tryin' some of these pillows and-"
The female employee looked at her, and you could tell there was a moment where she was going to say something like ma'am please get off the pillows, but then her mouth clamped shut. She was too tired, and too underpaid for this bullshit. She just walked off, probably to tell a manager over the radio.
"-It just really feels like the real deal ..." Chel's voice trailed off as the woman walked away. When the coast was clear Chel rolled off and began unburying Lutz. "You doin' okay down there?"
