Creatures that don't belong are appearing in the middle of the night, like ghosts, haunting the world around them. Their creepy markings make them stand out, and their dark coloring leaves many feeling cursed. These creepy crawlers are invading the world of Tendaji, and it's up to brave souls to step up and run them off, or even tame them as pets.
Do you think you have what it takes to face these creepy creatures that have wandered away from home? Well test your luck, and see how you fare.
|| These spooky familiars have been spotted in the following locations: Maglardilla (Oba, Matori, and Yael), Perzi (Jauhar/Chibale and Tale), Keldari (Sauti and Zena). Only individuals in set locations can encounter the specific familiars. This prompt will be resolved by each player rolling 1D100 to test their success. (You can only roll once - there are no reattempts!)

When the little oasis came into view, Rhonann was overjoyed. The sun seemed to be particularly hot that day, and she was still at least an hour from the next village. She knew that she had to be careful though. In this desert land, many would be drawn to such a haven, and some of them would rather not share the wealth. ..Heck, she wasn’t too keen on the idea of sharing either. Not when her canteen was filled with more sand than water.
Despite her eagerness, she crept slowly through the huddled trees, watching and listening for any movement. A couple small animals shuffled through the grass, but nothing of concern for Rhonann. Deeper into the flora, her eyes lit up at the sight of the pool. It was a fairly small pool, but the water was translucent blue and clearly very deep at the center. At the opposite edge, three capramel were cooling their legs in the shallowest part of the pool and gently lapping up mouthfuls of water at their leisure.
Rhonann crept forward, still wary of anything or anyone else that might be lurking about. That water looked wonderful though. Kneeling down at the edge, she dipped her hands in to rinse them before scooping up a handful of water to sip at. Well, a handful of water to gulp down, to be more accurate. She wiped her damp hands over her face, and sighed with relief. It felt so good! She wanted to jump right in... but anxiety kept her from acting on her impulse. After all, Rho had no idea if she could swim or not. She hadn’t since waking up, and no memory of swimming had risen yet.
Next, her canteen was rinsed and then filled to the brim. With water stocked again, a weight lifted from her shoulders, and she dropped back to stretch out her arms and legs. Maybe she could dip her toes in? That would certainly be nice.
That was when the strange rattling sounded nearby. Rhonann froze, trying to see with her eyes first. She had never heard such a sound before! With nothing in clear sight, she slowly sat up, turning her head to see. Finally, near her left hand, she saw the movement. For a moment, she froze with wide eyes. At first, it seemed to be a pile of bones! Then she noticed the skin that actually surrounded them. What the heck was this thing? Turning to lean in a bit for a closer look, a sharp head rose and hissed sharply, baring sharp little fangs threateningly.
Rhonann shrieked and threw herself backward, away from the crazy creature. She instinctively grabbed her crossbow, clambering to her knees while she loaded a bolt. The creature snapped its head forward, but did not move from where it had been resting. With her bow aimed, Rho carefully inched forward again. The creature hissed and snapped again, and Rho pulled the trigger. The bolt landed just short of the alien creature’s head. The thing snapped at the bolt and bit onto the shaft. Rho’s brow knit. It was attacking whatever came closest to it? Experimenting, she shot another bolt, but this time the creature turned and slithered into the grasses. Well, that thing wasn’t so tough!
As it was though, Rho didn’t waste time exiting the oasis. She had gotten what she wanted, and had little desire to find out how dangerous those sharp teeth of the unknown creature were.
