xxx»» Chrys desperately wishes she'd been born a boy; she hates dresses, lace, frilly things, and any sort of pastime that is generally thought of to be 'for girls', such as tea parties and dress up. She has chopped off her own hair (rather haphazardly) on two separate occasions and constantly begs her parents to allow her to wear pants. She enjoys getting dirty and rough-housing, both of which are frowned upon.

xxx»» She takes the role of eldest sibling very seriously; Chrys would do absolutely anything for her younger sister and brother. She would take the fall for them when they misbehave, fend off any bully who dared look at them funny. Though she is personally afraid of the dark, she braves it to make her way down the hall to her brother's room if she hears him crying in the night. When they were small, she was frequently found in her sister's bed in the morning, having woken up to find that Finny was plagued by a nightmare and promised to fend it off.
EXCITABLE
xxx»» She gets very excited about just about everything, bad and good. She's known for reacting a bit to excitedly to any sort of good news, and for being exceptionally melodramatic in the face of bad. It's not uncommon for her to declare "This is the worst thing to ever happen ever!" over something extremely minor. She also frequently declares anything she likes even a little to be 'her favorite _____ ever', regardless of how many other things she has said to be such. There's no grey area with her; either it's the best or worst ever, no matter what.
IMPISH
xxx»» Chrys is an adventurous child, and she likes to get up to mischeif. She's not one to shirk away from causing trouble, though she draws the line at doing anything that will hurt another person. Harmless fun, she calls it. Now, that's not to say that her schemes don't land people in awkward situations (she's quite fond of the good old fashioned 'bucket on a door', a classic as she calls it). But, barring unforseen circumstances, she never causes anyone pain. When it happens, she is obviously distraught. But, most of the time, things go smoothly, and she has a good laugh. She always tries to placate the victim, and help them see the humor in it, but if they don't get it, she generally chalks it up to them not having a sense of humor, and leaves them alone.
EMOTIONAL
xxx»» Being exceptionally passionate, all of Chrys' emotions are always quite close to the surface. She doesn't hide her feelings well, if she even bothers to try. Generally speaking, she wears her heart on her sleeve. She's quick to lose her temper, and prone to very dramatic tears when upset. The benefit of this is that, when she has a negative emotion, she can typically cry or yell it out and move onto better things. She doesn't hold grudges well, unless she feels that she or someone she loves has been wronged on an incredibly deep level. She's quick to change moods if something happens to cause the shift, and exceptionally vocal about how she's feeling.
EXTROVERTED
xxx»» Chrys craves social interactions; when left alone for too long a time (typically more than thirty minutes), she becomes a bundle of nerves, desperately wishing for someone to talk to. It's like an itch she can't scratch, and it drives her up the walls. She needs constant companionship, something that is difficult to come by, given that she is home-schooled. Were she an only child, she's quite certain she'd have gone mad by now. As it is, she is constantly seeking out her younger siblings for interaction, something which she doesn't think either of them seems to mind over all. Being around other people leaves her energized rather than drained, and if she goes alone for too long, she wilts.

- CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Chrysanthemum was the firstborn child of Hyacinth and Abigail Meadows. Her parents' marriage had been arranged when the pair were second years in school, and while they always got along well enough, they weren't particularly close. Still, her birth did give them something to bond over somewhat, making their relationship progress from 'cordial but distant' to 'friends who happen to be married'. She was a very happy child for the most part, though never quite understood why her grandparents seemed disappointed that she was a girl. At age five, she happened to overhear them with her parents, discussing how she, and her sister Delphinia, would be skipped over as 'heirs' to the family line, and everything would pass to her brother Sherwood. She didn't quite understand what any of that meant, but she did know that the problem was that she was a girl. Since that day, she has alienated herself from anything approaching femininity, as much as a child whose parents place value on traditional gender roles possibly can. Overall, she's still quite happy, and loves her siblings dearly. Her parents bother her sometimes with forcing her to wear dresses and keep her hair long, but she loves them all the same. Around the time her brother was born, both her parents began spending a lot of time with their respective 'best friends', to the point that the two women practically live in the Meadows home. Chrys has always found the arrangement quite odd, particularly since she has twice spotted her mother kissing Miss Delilah Taylor, once on the cheek and once on the lips. But, given that the time on the lips was under the mistletoe at Christmastime, she hasn't questioned it overmuch. Her father, meanwhile, is much more discreet in his own affair, at least around the children. His own mistress, a Miss Regina Lawrence, is a close friend of his from his school years, with whom he always shared a mutual attraction. Up until the birth of his son, he'd refused to act on it, but since he and his wife have decided to cease their 'marital duties' following the birth of what his parents considered a proper heir, he sees no harm in it, as long as all parties are happy and content.
SCHOOL YEARS
- FIRST YEAR »» Chrys quite enjoyed her first year at Hogwarts. She made a lot of friends, starting with Dris, a boy in her year that she met at the train station. She quite liked Dris, and liked him even more when she found out he was friends with her friend Chance, who wouldn't be attending until the next year. Dris introduced her to his friend Skylar, and they met plenty of other kids in their year. Chrys liked almost everyone she met, really, except a boy in Slytherin named Julius, who she can't really describe without using words only her Aunt Anthea gets away with saying. A less than pleasant encounter soured her for the boy, who is basically a perfect example of everything she hates having to be because she's a pureblood from and old family, and he was arrogant and insulted her to boot. Worse, he didn't know he was doing it, and didn't own up to it when she pointed it out. She'd be quite happy if she never had to speak to him again, to be honest. The most interesting thing that happened was when she came down to breakfast one morning, and discovered that Dris had apparently not just sleep-walker, but sleep-painted, as in 'painted a huge mural on the Great Hall wall while sleeping, before sitting down at the Gryffindor table and sleeping there until he was found that morning.' He got in pretty big trouble for it, and was forced to clean it up. Chrys suggested they start tying him to his bed at night to keep him from doing it again.

SECOND YEAR »» Chrys' second year got off to a good start, at the very least. She was, once again, sad to leave her siblings behind to go to school, but was comforted with the knowledge that Finny would join her the next year, and Sher the year after that. More to the point, Chance was starting school, which she was quite excited about, because it meant that all her friends save her siblings would be together. The first half of the year was a bit dull, but she didn't mind because at least she got to spend time with her friends. However, come the holiday break, everything was ruined. Christmas dinner was always a big affair for the family, but this year seemed different from the moment she'd woken up that morning. Actually, if she were honest, it'd seemed different the moment she'd gotten home. But that night in particular was odd, with her mother and parents' mistresses fussing over her all night, dressing her extra nice and even putting her in makeup and heels. The reason was revealed when she made it to the dining room and found Julius Devereux's family in attendance. Immediately, she realized what was up. Her suspicions were confirmed when, towards the end of the meal, it was revealed that their fathers had arranged a marriage between the two of them. Chrys was obviously angered by this, and even more so angered by the 'gift' presented to her by her so-called betrothed, which felt like a subtle stab to remind her that he basically owned her now. She spent the rest of the year going back and forth between pretending like it never happened, and dramatic bouts of anger or depression.

THIRD YEAR »» The year started off rather well. Finny was a first year, and got sorted into Ravenclaw, which didn't surprise her older sister a bit. She was even getting along, more or less, with Julius. Or, well. She was being nice and acting politely aloof with him rather than exasperated by his existence, on account of his having gotten he a broom. She still wasn't allowed to play Quidditch, of course, but she'd gotten away with contacting her head of house and getting signed up for Advanced Flying by using the gift as an excuse ( "You wouldn't want me to waste a present from my betrothed, would you?" ). She actually thought for a second that she might've misjudged the Slytherin, right up until their first Mythology lesson, where he utterly ruined it by spouting outdated, elitist idiocy that she had no desire to be associated with. She opted to ignore him then, but her plans were thwarted by his inability to simply leave her alone. She ended up screaming at him in the halls, which admittedly wasn't the most ladylike reaction, but she'd never much cared for being ladylike, anyway.

FOURTH YEAR »» The start of the year found Chrys at the Hufflepuff table, comforting her newly-sorted younger brother. She set her friends, both in the house and not, on the task of helping him assimilate, and spent most of her focus on helping him navigate the start of the school year. Come the holiday break, things took a turn for the worse. If Chrys thought she was angry over her own betrothal, it was nothing compared to how she felt about her sister's. It wasn't that she hadn't known it was coming, but the entire reason she'd been betrothed so young and without input was because she was, to put it mildly, not to be trusted. Her sister, she'd thought, they would wait a while, talk to. Get opinions from. Allow her to have some shred of say in her own life. But, instead, they'd betrothed her to the twin brother of her best friend Celeste, which seemed like a no-brainer, but Chrys knew better. Finny tried to hide it under the veneer of polite kindness she was known for, but her older sister saw through it. It wasn't that she didn't like Sorin, exactly, but that they weren't a good match, and Finny found him off-putting. Of course, this bit of rage at her parents might've contributed significantly to the changes in her own personal life, namely the fact that she began dating Dris. It happened somewhat accidentally, with Chrys being a little more overbearing towards him after he scared her with a bout of illness. She did, at least, try to keep the relationship more or less quiet. She didn't lie or outright hide it, but she saw no need to broadcast her business and cause drama with her betrothed, or get into trouble with her parents.
