Rumors are spreading of a traveler who has entered the area. Apparently, this traveler has a strange item they claim comes from a different time. It's hard to believe what people are saying, and the only way to really know what is going on is if you see it with your own eyes. So, you make it a point to travel to where the traveler was last sighted, and as you approach you notice a crowd. The traveler is holding up an object, high above their head, and shouting across the crowd. Some approach to get a closer look, some appear fearful, but everyone can agree...this is something no one has ever seen before.

Rolled 5-6

The traveler pulls two strange pieces of metal, which don't seem to go together outside of their color. One is covered in a language that sort of looks familiar, but isn't fully legible. The other is a winding spiral, which is too big to wrap comfortably around a wrist.

((Would help if I specified how many dice I were rolling))

Rumors of a traveler didn't mean much to Nyko. As a newly transplanted resident of Matori who was he to say someone else was 'odd', but this one was apparently just that; odd. Strange enough for the injured singer to pull himself together, lace up a pair of fresh breeches and go to seek him out.

After all, it wasn't so much the traveler that Nyko wanted to see, but rather the item he carried with him. No one rumor could pinpoint exactly what it was, much to his annoyance. Was it something magical? Or was it a weapon from a different time?

After spending enough time in one little hut, resting and healing, Nyko was more than ready to get out. His wounds had ceased bleeding every little time he moved, and he had begun physical exercises to get his 'strength' back. So, in his eyes, sneaking out past the chatty healers to see this traveler himself was just as good as physical exercises. They seemed content enough gossiping about this stranger anyway, so why not go see them, and return with information for those who had been taking care of him for so long?

Unfortunately, Nyko was not nearly as stealthy as he wished, and so, accompanying him to the 'traveler' was a healer by the name of Tsu. At least he liked her, which was a plus; Tsu was an older woman with hair so grey and puffy that it looked like a storm cloud. She insisted on holding onto his arm, and he obliged her.

They spent the better part of the day just walking and talking, speculating among each other as to what the objects actually were. By the time they were close enough to where the suspected 'traveler' was Nyko was sure it was some kind of magical artifact that could travel through time. They meandered their way into the thick of the crowd, looking up to see the speaker holding up not one, but two objects into the air.

From this distance Nyko could say if the speaker were male or female - though he wasn't exactly looking that close - but he did focus on the objects. They were similar enough in color, but beyond that he didn't see much of a connection. One had a strange sort of language carved into it that glistened in the light. It looked similar to him, but he couldn't exactly say why. Maybe the masters would have known? And the other...it may have passed for jewelry, had it not been so big. But still...

"Oh, my daughter has one of those. The coiled piece; it's a necklace. You add to the coil as you get older. Her husband's tribe does it as a sign of the family's wealth." Tsu explained. Nyko found it odd that any woman would willingly put that around her neck, and to wind it so tight...but he suspected it could be actual jewelry. Weird jewelry, but it seemed to make sense.

"I think that the other one didn't come from a different time, but a different land." Nyko murmured out loud. "What if there's another place out there, like Yael, that we just haven't seen yet? Where that kind of metal is normal and women wear necklaces like your daughter. Or or or or maybe both! Maybe they're from Yael's early years."

"Or maybe the traveler is a time traveler."

Nyko inhaled sharply. "Nooo. You don't think-? Well, I guess that would explain those weird clothes she's wearing. Maybe it's fashionable in her own time to wear a vegetable sack." The two shared a laugh, but Nyko was already musing to himself. What if she really was a time traveler? And what if those were from Yael's early years?

The speaker herself was talking about ancient relics, but Nyko didn't think anything ancient would have survive this long without being taken directly from that time. The whole thing was enough to give him a migraine.

"What if...what if that piece of metal, the one with the writing, are instructions on how to wear the necklace? Like how to wrap it? They may not have had scrolls then to write it on, so they could have just carved it."

"Oh Nyko, you're brilliant! That has to be it; what else could it be?"

Yes yes, of course he was brilliant. What else could they be but a fashion statement that a time traveler brought to the future? Maybe Tsu's daughter was wearing it wrong and the time traveler simply meant to teach her how to do it? Nyko wasn't so sure, but he was sure that Sajah needed to hear about this.
