MetaSanctuary Vice Captain

 Welcome to the Halloween Ball at Metamorphose Sanctuary!
For years, Halloween has been a very important time for Metas, ironically being a kind of month of new chances, blossoming friendships, and even love. It's not uncommon to hear two lovers having met at the old Halloween balls that used to be held at the academy or even in various October balls in Belosh throughout the time the academy had been closed.
In celebration for the first Halloween with the newly reopened Sanctuary, Headmaster Rhun has gone all out to decorate the ballroom on the grounds with fun and spooky decorations. The dance held in the indoor ballroom set up with a dance floor, many tables, open areas to stand and mingle. There are tables lined with all kinds of free food and drink, and even a few party games. There is a huge haunted house to the side of the building outside and there is an outdoor area to just relax under the moonlight. Everything has been decorated for the occasion and is being chaperoned by Headmaster Rhun, Kreios, Mirabelle, Nova, and Tendren to make sure nothing gets out of hand.
((OOC Note: The way this RP will work is almost in an AU style. You may enter your characters as you see fit. It'll go on throughout October and in the end, you may choose whether this affects your character as canon and fit it into the story where it is convenient for you. Or you may choose to regard it as non-canon and disregard specific interactions between characters speficially. (Althought, I obviously encourage the former.) There is no specific post order since characters will interact at different paces, so be sure to tag who you're responding to so they are aware when you've responded to those characters.))
***A note about non-canon Metas: Quest Metas are allowed to be RPed here, and fall under the same OOC note rules listed above.

Estrian made his way toward the decorated ballroom, feather wings held in tightly since this would actually be the first social event he joined in his life. Yet it was still on the grounds so it would be a pity not to at least go inside and investigate? He didn't even have the good excuse of being busy so might as well... Moving toward the open doors he walks inside hoping that being in costume was not a requirement as he gazed around the ballroom.

 Headmaster Rhun had been busy with setting up everything for the ball today, scurrying here and there. His long black cape billowing as he hurried along to make sure that everything was in order. It wasn't until Nova insisted he just enjoy the rest of the night that he even slowed down. Reluctant, she assured she'd handle the rest and sent him on his way. Rhun adjusted his top hat and white fabric mask and looked around at the ball that had a few people there by now. He noticed a familiar white-haired angel and a smile formed on his lips. "Are you dressed up as a normal person?" he asked with a chuckle as he approached. He, himself, was dressed as a man in a tuxedo with a top hat and mask with a red rose in his gloved hand. -------  Leukos entered the ballroom reluctantly, knowing that Rhun was likely around and maybe even Mira. There would be questions, lots of questions. Holding Vale carefully, he had dressed her in a nice old brown suit and gave her a fake mustache, a cardboard monocle tape to her glasses and a gentlemans hat. For himself, he was wearing a long tan overcoat and a similar old style brown vest and pants. He had a dark deerstalker hat on and a pipe in his mouth. He made his way in and set her down to stand on her own. He had let Melody leave to go retrieve some costume that Alice had apparently insisted she wear. Now that he was on his own, he took Vale's hand to walk her over to the table with food at it. "Hungry?" he asked with a stoic look down at her.----------------  Jaser had been wandering about alone, trying to lose his sister to the best of his ability as he kept to the walls, walking along them and eventually crawling under the table. He move to the other side and peeked up over the backside of the table and grabbed a couple orange pumpkin shaped cookies and then ducked back down under the table. He was wearing a dark red yarn wig and had painted his ghostly skin with stitchs and was wearing a tattered patchwork dress and had slippers on and drawn on lashes on his face. It felt nice. He was sitting under the table, munching on the cookies as he watched feet walk by from underneath the tablecloth.

Estrian turned faintly startled and smiled sheepishly as he noted who it was. "I heard normal was rare, so thought it might make a good costume" he say waving to his clothing before embarrassment forced him to drop the act.
"Truthfully, I wasn't sure if we had to come dressed up or not... " he said trying to pinpoint the costume and failing. "Most of my time in prior years was spent usually healing people who hurt themselves drinking, or those who thought playing pranks in the forest was a great idea. " he rolled his eyes. " so no real time to enjoy the festivities" he said with a faint smile even if that was not quite true. Oh!
"Phantom of the opera?" he said looking at the rose then the mask and waiting for confirmation or not.

[Vale]
Vale was grinning from ear to ear, pulling on the edges of the hat as she was carried in by Leukos. With matching costumes, they looked quite the part and quite adorable - more so the small girl who was dressed as a tiny Watson to the teens Sherlock. Once she was set down, she ran about in place and looked up at him as she was asked a question. Noddng, she smiled brightly, "Yeah!

[Anastasia]
Wearing the lab coat that she had been initially given, a red button-up shirt, a black skirt that went just above her knee, a black tie, a set o cute black kitten heels, with her hair done up in a bun with a pair of circle framed glasses, Anastasia made her way into the ballroom with Paige and Kioko in tow. She had been tasked with taking the two children to the halloween ball as both Michael and Delilah seemed to be uneasy with going themselves. Taking a breath, she braced herself for any possible interactions with people, and let the two run loose once they got into the room.

Being the child of a scientist and a woman who was quite proficient in sewing, as well as having an aunt who could also make clothing, Paige had the tough task of just deciding what to be for halloween. With her own long hair pulled and braided into a ponytail of sorts; strips of it shimmering as it changed colors; she was wearing a white tanktop with a logo and some print on it, an orange jumpsuit that was pulled up to her waist with the arms wrapped around and tied up so it would stay, a pair of white boots with a black strip along the back, and a bulky black and white gun that the lights inside of it would shift from orange to blue if she pressed a button inside of the gun. Looking excited that she was getting to meet new people, Paige ran into the ballroom past Anastasia and looked at the people she had never seen.

 [Sparrow] Sparrow was dressed up as a little forest fairy - big green wings, a cute dress, and a few leaves and twigs ornamenting her shimmering hair. She didn't mind the way her parents had dressed her, or the way that anything woodsy-related reminded her of Shiro (and how she hadn't seen him in so, so long). Maybe he would show up at the ball. Maybe not - it was a children's thing after all. Shiro didn't do stuff meant for little kids. She had to. She had to keep up appearances, after all. And that, of course, meant making new friends that were 'her age'. In that vein, the little Malice/Muse turned to the food table, her little mouth watering at the offerings piled there. Well, why not enjoy herself while doing it? ((I need to actually put up her journal i don't know why I forgot))

[Headmaster Rhun] Rhun chuckled as Estrian answered. "I supposed normal is pretty rare nowadays." He grinned lightly, actually glad to talk someone who wasnt Nova or Mira for once. He waved a hand dismissively as Estrian came out with the truth. "Its fine, it's not madatory or anything. If you want, I can find you a masquerade mask or something." He blinked with a bit of surprise and held in a laugh. "I'm not phantom of the opera.. I'm tuxedo mask." he answered with a smile. -------------- [Leukos] Leukos seemed content with being with Vale, even if he never showed it on his face, a stoic expression masking any emotion he would show for now as he tried to keep his guard up. He realized she would be too small to see what's on the table as he picked her up into one arm and grabbed a plate for her in the other. "Just point out what you want and I'll put it on the plate for you." he instructed calmly.------------------- [Jaser] Jaser was watching the feet carefully, blue and black eyes darting back and forth calculating but apathetic none the less. He saw the glimpse of silver skin child and he was compelled to see who it was. Peeking out from underneath the cloth on the table, he swallowed the mouthful of cookie he still had in his mouth curiously as he looked up at her.------------------- [Melody] Melody finally arrived at the ballroom, nervous about entering as she pulled at her poofy skirt. She was dressed in a pink fairy costume, adorned with pink ribbons, pink and yellow wings, and a pink headband. She shuffled inside and frowned, whispering to herself, looking fairly embarrassed. "..alice, this costume is too small..." "Its fine.. It was that short when I wore it too..." Melody blushed and pulled at the skirt more, "...this is embarrassing..." "...will you go dance already..." She shook her head and shuffled along the wall timidly and kept her eyes down. "Why do I feel this would have been easier if Hexxis was here.." she sighed and looked around for Leukos.--------------------- [Kioko] Kioko arrived with Paige, and had been so excited from the moment she had heard she was going to the Halloween ball. And having the same lovely and talented mother who sews well, she requested a princely costume to wear and boy, did she deliver. Kioko was dawned in a white prince costume adorned with beautiful golden embellishment and regal appliques. Then a long red and white cape to top it all off. She looked ecstatic as she practically bolted the moment they got there, running about with all the people but then ran back and stood next to Paige again. "Apologies, I couldn't help it." she spoke with a laugh and then took a steadying breath. "What first?"

" Hah! Just as rare as common sense " he chuckled softly and calmed . "Ah good " he relaxed finally with a faint smile, even if he was still feeling a little self-conscious as he stared at quote a few of the other dressed up metas. Already he was mentally reviewing what he could throw on with the things he had brought with him. "A mask? If it isn't to much trouble... " he said said with a look of relief and a larger smile. He could pass with almost anything just wearing a mask. Pausing he blink in blank understanding as Rhun revealed who he was dressed up as. "Ah...sorry, I don't think I am familiar with him" he said with an apologetic smile. "Where is he from?" he asked curiously.

As she was picked back up, she giggled a little bit, though as she looked at the assortment of food, she gasped a little bit. "Everything, everything!" she stated happily, grinning from ear to ear as she looked at it all. Everything looked so good, she just couldn't choose.

Laughing softly, albeit a little uneasily, Anastasia looked down at the two. "Go play, but no leaving the ballroom, okay? We'll be staying here for a night with Mira before we head back tomorrow." she stated, letting the two children run off to play as she herself moved towards a wall, one where she could face the door but find a way to connect to the network of Sanctuary, if she could. Though, as she faced the door, her eyes met with a familiar figure. One whom she had been chatting with for awhile now over the network. Swallowing hard, she pressed herself against the wall and tried to be inconspicuous as she stared at Melody.

Given nearly free reign over what they could do, Paige made a beeline for the table, curious about what was available - if anything was interesting, she grabbed one to try it. Picking up a cookie, she started to nibble on it and looked around, her colorful hair still glowing faintly as her small fairy wings fluttering behind her.

[Headmaster Rhun] Rhun laughed at his comment then smiled. The agreement on the mask made him nod with a slight delight as he moved to another table of various halloween costume parts in case the children didn't have one, he dug into a bag behind the table for a bit before returning with a black and silver mask with hints of blue along the edges and into an intricate swirling design on one side. He held the mask out for Estrian, "It's one of my own, so you can just return it some time after." Rhun paused as Estrian asked him where his character was from and a hint of color flushed over his cheeks. "It's.. he's a male protagonist in an all female magical fighting show. They fight evil and he helps out too...." he explained beginning to mumble then laughed nervously. "It was just kind of a nice thing to watch a show of defenders that fight in the name of love and justice... " Rhun looked down embarrassedly, he hadn't expected to realize the implications of what he watched so late but what was done was done. He sighed, well, it could have been worse. -------------- [Leukos] Leukos had a twinge of a smile as she requested to have everything. He nodded and began to put a little bit of everything on the plate until it was actually quite full now. Manuevering to get the plate into the hand that was wrapped around Vale, he poured a drink for her then moved off to a table so she could sit and eat it. Sitting in the chair, he put the small Vale into his lap so she could easily reach the plate and let her have it.------------------- [Melody] Melody nervously stayed by the wall, unable to even see where Leukos had gone, which was surprising. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to push through the crowd and look around for him, but to no avail. She did, however, spot Headmaster Rhun talking with someone and she tensed up moving to the other side of the ballroom from him and leaned against the wall there. This was getting to be a lot. She wondered if Leukos had seen him too. And further wondered if any of the renegades were here. She frowned again, staring down at the ground. She was beginning to think this was a bad idea to come, even if it had been sort of her idea in the first place.--------------------- [Kioko] "Yes, ma'am!" she exclaimed happily then turned on her heel to run after Paige, just as excited. She looked over the table of goodies and grabbed at sweets and tried as much as she could.'...you are too old to be acting this way. It's despicable."Kioko merely hummed with a smile over what he said. "Benoni, quit being so grumpy and live a little, okay? Besides, you could use the socialization just like me. You're always so angry." she spoke to herself as she kept her eye on the many pieces of food and snacks.

 Estrian followed along with a hint of curiosity as he visually looked at all the children costumes piled up on the table with a hint of a smile. Reaching out he rubbed his fingers over the costume of a werewolf idly. That was good thinking, both for the children in sanctuary as well as any other who came. It made him wonder how many others were coming, how many metas lived in the surrounding area outside of those here.
"Hm?" He snapped his gaze up, pulling his mind away from sombering thoughts as stared at the mask in Rhun's hands. "Thank you" he said with a look of approval, as he took the mask and turned it in his hands admiring it before placing it on his face. His fingers staying along the edges where the dark blue was before reluctantly lower his hand with a sigh.
Gazing up he listened to Rhun's talk about the character's origins with a raised brow, between his explanation and body language he could easily guessed that the show wasn't exactly one other adults would consider appropriate for someone of his seeming age. "...and you think I am going to make fun of that?" He laughed softly and shook his head vigorously twice.
"It sounds more wholesome there a lot of other things I heard are on TV...hope hopeful" he said with a sigh. Plus it looks good on you " he said with a smile, looking at his face and mask intently before traveling to the rest of the costume and back, noting the lack of sword or even play sword he would have expected from the seemingly hybrid gentleman
"No Prop sword or sheath?" He asked questioningly as he gazed back at a red eye instead of silver as he had expected, if only for a moment. ----------------  Nothing made Mara happy as much as scaring the living daylight out of people on halloween. Even the with everything she had to deal day in and day out she always took this day off. Near her home, one she barely returned to, she had the reputation of setting up a scary house font with Tri and Ree's help. This year was different...new place...and...
"... Here" she said quickly as she stopped near a part of the road that lead up to Sanctuary. One that was boxed on both sides by densely growing bushes for a good distance. Muttering she headed to the edge and tried to look for some clearing on the other side.
They had to wait until dark and missed a good chunk of the people heading to Sanctuary itself.. but they would be ready for those late comers and those coming back down. It will be great..just as long as they avoid anyone in a car... muhahaha. Better make sure -not- to scare Melody, Leukos or Vale.. those were the only three she didn't want to know she was there.

Scarlet entered the room where the ball was happening, a bit late since she had been searching for her brother before coming down. Her costume was a simple one easily mistaken for normal clothing. She wore a purple dress with a blue sweater, leg warmers a pink back pack and one eyed teddy bear to finish the look. Her hair didn't match, her own blocks locks hanging in a ponytail rather than the hair of the character she was portraying.
Assuming Jaser had simply decided to hide upstairs and miss the festivities she finally came down alone. People already filling the room, she mimicked her brothers behavior hiding off on a side of the room watching everyone nervously as she munched on cookie. There were to many people here and Jaser wasn't coming. Perhaps she should just hide under a table until it's all over.
Scarlet looked to the tables moving to hide under the tablecloth when she saw one of the others move, Jasers eyes glancing out at someone that stood nearby. Suddenly her anxiety faded as Scarlet screamed out excitedly, "Jaaaaaser!" She bolted across the room to cling to Jasers arm before trying to tug him from under the table.

[Sparrow] She'd been happily noshing away, unconcerned about possible weight gain or messes, when she noticed two very bright, black-and-blue eyes staring up at her from beneath the table. SHe stared back at him, mouth full but slowly clearing as she chewed and swallowed. What was he doing under there. Finally, she ventured something friendly. "Hi?" she said. He had an interesting costume on, unless it was actually his skin. It was so hard to tell at these parties... and that was what made them so easing. She wasn't intimidated - surely, his intentions were better than her own. Something - someone - propelled themselves out of the crowd towards them and she tensed defensively, until she realized that they were ignoring her and going for the meta under the table. It had already been interesting, and now... more interesting. "Hello!" she said again, letting some of her muse power leak into her voice to give it a melodic tone, "Are the two of you together? I'm Sparrow. And you?" It was, she felt, best to be direct in these sorts of situations.

 [Sally] Ha-lo-ween, Ha-lo-Ween~~~! Sally loved Halloween. It was her favorite season for so many reasons including the obvious sweet-related things, though she disliked dressing up for it. She wore a sensible, long-sleeved jumper, leggings, and boots - not party fare, by any sense of the word. In a sense, she was dressed as herself, and she figured that that was fairly appropriate and no one would know or bother to know. Of course, her first order of business was going right to the sweets available to explore her options. So many options. Some of them brand new to her - she'd have to try them out! She then turned her attention to the metas by the table, waving hello with as friendly a smile as she could manage. She hoped to make some new friends at this ball.

[Headmaster Rhun] Rhun nodded at his thanks before turning his thoughts back onto the source of his costume. "I.. uh...not really. It's just a kids show made for girls, so.... okay, maybe I am a little embarrassed about it." he answered, looking away slightly, trying not to look as shy about it as he really was. The color only slight but then deepening as Estrian complimented him. "...Thanks." he responded quietly. When he asked about a prop, he began to smile a little. "I have a wand." he then pulled out a magicians wand from beneath his cape and extended it, making a red rose appear on the end of it then chuckled. "It's kinda cheesy, but I like it."------------------- [Jaser] "oof!" a sound of surprise and slight pain as Scarlet practically almost knocked him down after running at him. The only indication that she had arrived was the fact that she had screamed before interrupting what was going to be his first words to someone else. "...scarlet.. stop..." he muttered with annoyance as he tried to tug his arm away from her to no avail. Looking back up at the the girl he had been staring at, there were now a lot more girls at this table than he was beginning to feel comfortable with. And Scarlet's screaming wasn't doing him any favors. "H-hi..." Jaser managed to stammer out. "T-together?! No... she's my sister..." he answered quickly before frowning. "I'm Jaser. It's nice to meet you, Sparrow." he responded before looking over at the dark meta that had approached as well. He gave a slight wave back before returning his gaze back to Scarlet. "..let me go.." he requested, a dull irritation begin to form in his voice.----------------------------- [Kae] She hadn't even bothered to dress up for now, only changing her hair color to blonde and her eyes to green, but otherwise looked exactly the same. She looked over with Mara with a dull face as they made it to their destination. There was, however, the beginnings of a grin on her face that was beginning as she kept hidden with her. "So.. when do we start." she asked, pulling a large controller from the bag at her side.
