The more uncertain part of the imp's potential move directly tied to who he wanted to move in with. He wasn't really trying to force the issue, but now seemed the perfect time to take things a step further with Ayuu, especially since Bo hadn't. Ellis insisted this wasn't a competition, but... it kind of was. No matter how bad he felt about the whole misunderstanding, it was time to move on.
The imp sat at his desk, his worn blue chair almost dwarfed by his recently added bulk. He didn't think he was going to be able to bring himself to just ask Ayuu if ze wanted to live with him without some sort of lead-in, but he knew he could handle a letter, so he would start there. With a sigh, Ellis picked up his pen and began to write.
- Ayuu,
I hope you're as happy as I am that we will soon join Bo in more advanced classes! I don't mean to be nosy, but I was wondering if you had any plans to move into the senior dorms? I was going to, but I wouldn't like to do it alone.
He paused, sure that he was being too forward. He read what he had written, wrote more, scratched it out, then crumpled the entire sheet and trashed it. This was no good. He really did need to speak to zer in person.
With a faint sigh, Ellis tried again.
- Ayuu,
Congratulations on becoming a senior!
I'd really like to meet up with you and ask you something, so if you've got a minute or two in the next week, let me know! Don't worry, it's nothing serious.
Ellis
It was a little vague and might make zer worry unnecessarily, but hopefully the copious number of smileys he added to the envelope would minimize that. He added zer name to the outside in the neatest print he could manage, then headed off to slip the note under zer door, hoping for the best.
