How had this happened? Seziah pressed herself hard into the far corner of her room, eyes narrowed, body tense, and limbs dragged in close and protectively. She checked for things like this. She checked every day to ensure herself a certain peace of mind regarding what cretinous monstrosities might lurk in her chambers. She was afraid of having bugs in her pillows that might eat through her eyes, and so to ward off that thought, she searched her pillow stuffing for tiny insects.
This giant terror could certainly eat through her eyes and anything else, and it likely wouldn't even fit in her pillow case. Certainly not unnoticably. Scuttling before her, pincers clicking, was the largest insect abomination she'd ever seen.
Immediately, Seziah expected it had every potential to kill her, and it clearly wanted to if it had come to her room, specifically. How it had maneuvered through the house undetected was a mystery to her. She thought to shout for help, but it would probably hear her and attack. Nor could she move around it, because it was basically everywhere and it would see her and come after her, and oh, it was useless.
At least Sami thought it was funny.
While Seziah crammed herself into the smallest space she could muster, the other girl laughed loudly from the hallway, peering in through Sez's open door and pointing and howling with glee. Sami was a peculiar girl. She could probably control bugs. And she knew how Seziah felt about them. From her place in the back, Sez whined softly.
Meanwhile, Granny escorted a young man through the home's front door, telling him briskly that they had a 'horrible infestation of the most ugly thing she'd ever seen' and that if he could eradicate or remove them, his time and effort would be due compensated.

Fortunately, Granny didn't feel any great need to leave strange boys to traipse unsupervised through her home. She had about as much interest in bugs as the next person, but so long as she maintained a few feet of space between the young man, his business, and herself, she felt it her obligation to trail him about as he handled whatever creepy crawlies had found their way inside. Finding the first proved to be an easy task, thanks to the loud laughter from one of the girls.
"Get out of the way, Sami," Granny hissed softly as she nudged the other female's arm, encouraging her off to the side so this boy could make quick work of these creatures. She didn't want him here any more than he likely wanted to be here, but the job needed doing.
When Seziah spotted Granny appearing in her doorway, a bubble of hope blossomed in her chest. She was old, yes, but she would surely be of more use than Sami. Granny would know what to- Oh.
Then her gaze landed on the man in her company, before dropping hastily to the floor. This was less acceptable.
"Seziah," Granny called, trying to be what was probably reassuring. Sez scrunched away harder, and refused to look up. She gestured to the Yaeli male at her side. "This is- Oh, sorry, dearie, I never got your name?" She realized after only a moment.
That was all fine and well, but really Sez didn't care much about any of that.

Seziah strongly doubted any stranger plucked from the streets would be very useful here. Especially since this man didn't even look particularly... comfortable with his current location. She couldn't say for sure, what with the very brief glance she'd given him and the smile that appeared on his face a moment later, but she thought he- Kieran looked fairly agitated with the people around him. And to be fair, Sez wasn't especially comfortable with the situation, either.
This was her room, filled with her things, and that man was unfamiliar in every way. Very, very unwelcome in her space under most circumstances. But since her options for insect removal were limited, she probably had no choice.
Careful to stay as tightly pressed into the corner as she could, Sez dusted a lengthy messy strand of curls from her eyes and peered about. The giant bug was scuttling about her room like it owned the place, but at the sound of footsteps and voices, it had retreated beyond her immediate vision. Silently, she jabbed a finger in the direction she'd last seen it, escaping beneath a wooden trunk against the wall opposite her.

Well, it wouldn't have been especially polite of her to be irritated at him for trespassing (though she very much was), so rather than voice her concerns about his presence, Seziah hid her face behind a curtain of hair and nodded mutely. At least he did sort of sound like he knew what he was doing. If she was very lucky and very good, maybe the whole process would be over quickly. And it was surely, surely safe enough with him around to peel herself from the wall.
Though she didn't usually mind waiting, waiting for a creature to leave her bedroom was surprisingly less accepted. Seziah huffed as she took a step from her corner toward the Yaeli man. "If you can remove it without making a mess of my things, I suppose I will wait as long as needed. My name is Seziah. Thank you for-"
Heat crawled for her face as she belatedly realized he'd asked for silence in a slightly roundabout way.
"I am very sorry," she murmured, slightly quieter this time. "I will wait with you, if that is acceptable. This is my room, and I..." She eyed the jar with heavy suspicion as he pulled it from his satchel. And it quickly turned into a great internal struggle to remain even this much at ease as he splayed some of its sticky contents across her floor. Sez fidgeted. "I would appreciate it very much if you refrained from slopping your questionable products across my room..."

How this was 'a pleasure' for anyone, Seziah would never be sure. But Kieran's smile was, if nothing else, disarming in its own way, and he seemed polite enough (even if he was lying about the pleasantness of the situation, and even if Sez questioned his tactics with putting ooze on her floor). Either way, she deemed it an acceptable practice to slink to his side and dip to the floor in the offered spot, folding her legs neatly beneath her and tucking her hands in her lap.
This was not so terrible. Kieran wasn't overly intrusive, his jarred substance smelled nice, and she couldn't even see the bug-
Until she could. When the first resounding clicks of many bug legs hitting the hardwood floor met her ears, Seziah flinched. She might have yelped, but due to the nature of their mission (silence being a necessity, and such), she pinched her lips shut, though her eyes remained bright and fixed on the slowly approaching creature.
It showed some hesitance during its approach, which was just as well, since Seziah didn't think she could've withheld a shriek if it lunged at them. But eventually, it scuttled forward, following the sticky trail the Yaeli man had left for it.

Seziah peered at her new companion from the corner of her eye. She thought they were supposed to be still and quiet, but he was doing an awful lot of moving. Maybe his shiftiness was due to nervous fidgets too, like hers were. Still, Sez was at least managing silence, unlike him, and if he could talk, it only seemed right that she should be allowed to.
She didn't, because she didn't think those were the rules (other peoples' rules were oftentimes different for her, for some reason. She didn't understand), but if she could speak, she would've agreed that yes, it was clearly very strange. This giant, unfamiliar insect had gotten into her room. Her room of all places. That absolutely shouldn't have happened. So it was strange, because it had happened. She checked for these things, he should know, and she'd never had this type of problem before... Which was even more strange.
Rather than join him in his capturing exploits, Sez scooted a smidge backward, as far as she could manage while still being 'still.' Being close seemed like a bad idea, especially if this man's plan went awry.
But in the end, the large creature was successfully and securely snagged.
Seziah looked at the hideous thing, trapped in Kieran's net and squirming for freedom. She didn't know what became of bugs that got caught. If they were very small, she squished them. This one was not very small, and she didn't think she had anything big enough to squish it with. She stayed a comfortable amount of paces away. And though she couldn't say for sure if she was allowed to talk yet, it did seem like she should be able to, since the bug was safely netted. "What are you going to do with it?"

He'd 'have' to keep it. It was true, then, that very near to nothing that came from this man's mouth had any sensible merit. Why would he have to keep this strange specimen? Who cared if it didn't live here? That didn't mean it couldn't be disposed of here. And it was certainly, certainly not any less of a vile creature according to proximity. Hearing it clicking round in its makeshift tent was still as wildly unpleasant as it clicking around outside of it.
"Thank you for your assistance. And thank you for offering to clean up the mess I asked you not to make, but if you think that thing 'ate most of' it,' then we do not appear to be seeing the same thing." Her gaze scraped along the floor, following the residual trail left by food and the scuttley thing eating it.
Really, she'd need to tidy the whole room up, anyway, what with an unwelcome animal from outside having found its way in through unknown means. And she wasn't especially thrilled that a strange man had found his way in, either. "I think I would prefer to handle it, myself," Seziah told Kieran's boots. "And if you could remove that thing from here now, rather than later, I would be more grateful. I am not really interested in keeping it or you here longer than necessary. Thank you for catching it. Please leave."
