Regality stopped a moment to fix the bows in her hair, making sure she looked nothing less than her absolute best. She had signed up for a part time gig, via suggestion from her parents, and so found herself at the little diner dressed up in an adorable little doll in lace and frills and poms.
Originally she scoffed at the idea of 'work'. Having to actually do something and get her hooves dirty. The only reason she had agreed to this was because the outfit was adorable and she wanted to wear it. Keep it even if she could. The owner seemed so intent on having her wear the outfit even though it made little to no sense to her. What did it have to do with the diner? Yet the owner kept droning on and on and on in this half worried, half excited voice as he went over what she needed to do about five or six more times from the first five or six times he had already told her.
"Yes yes I got it the first time! Stand there, hold the sign, draw customers in." she she said and rolled her eyes. He seemed pleased, nodded and darted off to get the other mares ready who would work inside. Sighing, she picked up the sign with her magic and trotted out the door, finding the shadiest place she could find, which happened to be off to the side beneath the decor tree, to not bake in the sun.
Already it felt like minutes were passing by like hours. Phonies passing by paid little to no interest to the diner, not that she cared really. The owner came out a few times to usher her out into the open and urged, almost pleaded for her to do something, anything to attract attention.
Scoffing, Regality rolled her eyes yet again. "Fine." she snorted, trotting out with the sign levitating next to her. "Ladies and Gentlepony! Twin Saddles invites you over for their grand opening! Come and grab a stack of hayfries on the house!" she said with little to know enthusiasm. She repeated herself a couple of times, not really into the whole ordeal.... at least until one group of ponies actually stopped to look at her.
"Awww she's so cute dude! Look!" one whispered to the other, nudging his friend with an elbow.
'Yeah but dude... she's a little young..." the other said with a slight look on his face.
"Yeah...but if she's that cute.... imagine the mares inside.... " the other smirked, his grin growing wider as his friend seemed to catch on.
Regality blinked at the two, a bit confused but also a bit..... happy. They had not only noticed her but... called her cute! She already knew she was but...there was just something about other's saying it that made her feel giddy and warm inside each and every time. Half smiling, Regality thought to herself that maybe.... if she could get more ponies to come by they would all stop to admire her. Call her cute, gorgeous, little princess, amazing, beautiful... all sorts of things! Smirking herself, Regality's eyes narrowed in focus. Owner wanted her to draw attention? Oh she'd draw attention all right.
To herself!
The tan filly stepped up her game, calling out to ponies passing by, then to ponies on the corners, finally to other ponies on the other side of the street even! Little by little, more and more ponies stopped by to stare in awe at how cute she was. To squeal at her little dance moves, her cute voice, her perfectly done up hair. Each one had those ever so gratifying words of compliment before either deciding to enter the diner or keep it in mind for later. It mattered not to her if they went in to eat, even though that's what she was getting paid for. What she loved was the attention. All eyes on her. Ponies stopping and noticing her.
She already knew she liked attention, but she hadn't ever gotten it on this grand of a scale before! "This is what I want!" she squeaked to herself quietly, basking in all the attention, no matter if the ponies disappeared inside the diner or not. "I want everyone to look at me!" she beamed, her vanity slowly taking form as an image on her once empty flank.
