Rhag’na yawned bored. Maybe he ought to go out and take a walk? Clear his mind a little and see what he could find. Guard duty was running a little thin on his nerves right now and he felt he could still do his job well even with a small patrol.

"Here kitty kitty." She called out tiredly. Riya was searching for her hairless cat, a Perzi in fact, that had gotten outside. Her mother had gotten the beast for herself but it had taken a shine to Iriyana when she was unconscious. So Riya now had a cat.
"Come on, it's cold out here and you have no fur." The stupid thing. It was late and she was tired, not to mention her muscles hurt. With another yawn she reached up to cover her mouth. "Here kitty." She mumbled.

Strange beasts had been seen around recently, Rhag’na had been assigned guard that day and he had thought he’d seen one lurking about. In reality he had no idea what it was exactly that he was looking for, the creatures weren’t native to Zena. Who in their right mind would bring some poison creature out here? Surely the cold would kill it without having to intervene? Alas one could only hope. Rhag’na didn’t mind the duty but he didn’t like hunting something he didn’t know the appearance of. It made the creatures extra dangerous in his mind and he didn’t like it.
“You again!” Rhag’na stopped abruptly as he spotted Iriyana. “Do you know how dangerous it is right now to be out?” He huffed a bit. “There are creatures on the loose, very dangerous ones. What are you doing out right now Iriyana?” He couldn’t believe he’d stumbled on the girl again.

When she heard someone she half jumped and turned quickly to look at who it was. "Oh for the love of.." Riya sighed and gave a half roll of her eyes. Rhagna was a friend but she really needed to get him used to the idea of her being able to take care of herself. Instead she crossed her arms in front of her chest gently. "I'm looking for my cat. She's a Perzi and has no fur." When he mentioned dangerous creatures she snorted.
"According to you the snow is dangerous." She teased. "Her name is Hugs. So help me look for her." She motioned around them in order to get him to help her look.

“How is something furless living in such a cold place…?” Really, he eyed Iriyana doubtfully. He also didn’t know what a Perzi was, but decided to pretend to look for her Perzi anyway just so he could keep an eye on her. After all, if the creature was smart it would attack something weak and small.
“The snow is dangerous,” Rhag’na huffed a little shaking his head. “You can – wait, you named your familiar Hugs?” He tried to keep a straight face but started chuckling. Why was that so funny? He wasn’t quite sure, but it just seemed funny to him. “Alright, I’m going to look for Hugs.” Again, Rhag’na let out a chuckle he tried to stifle but did start looking around.

"She wears a sweater!" Riya stated. When he started to pick on the cat's name she narrowed her eyes at him. "Yes I did, because she likes to hug people's faces." With her claws and some teeth, but she wasn't going to tell him that. Iriyana thought it was best to let him find out on his own. So when he chuckled after saying he was going to look for Hugs she smirked.
Riya shook her head at him but let her arms fall to her sides so that she could resume looking for her familiar again. "Here kitty kitty." The ice girl did her best to coo at the beast in hiding. When she thought she heard a sound she went closer to investigate. "Is that you Hugs? Come on kit-" Nope! Not her cat!
A scream left her and she moved quickly away from the odd looking thing that reared up at her. "Snowballs! Get it!" Riya was behind Rhagna now, clinging to one of his arms and pointing at the Keldari as it slithered over the snow toward them.

“And I bet you knit that sweater too?” Oh this story was just getting better and better now wasn’t it? Rhag’na couldn’t believe it, he also hadn’t thought that Iriyana was the type to keep a familiar but then again he was reminded he knew nothing of woman. Perhaps they all loved little creatures they could take care of as if they were their children. He would assume that they would actually like furry and cuddly things to take care if. Granted something being named Hugs probably fit the bill on this one… Minus the whole missing hair it had going on.
The scream was enough for adrenaline to surge through his veins and his hands immediately went to his wooden sword as he turned around in time to see Iriyana racing towards him and then gripping his arm. He had expected something big, something monstrous… Instead some odd looking slithering thing came out towards them. “By the gods!” He said, backing up a little. Was this the creature? Was this the poisonous thing? Did it spit poison? Acid? He drew his sword and faced it but truly wasn’t sure if they ought to approach it or not.

"I don't think the Gods had anything to do with that!" Riya shrieked. Normally, she was a tough little thing but this.. well it was a whole new level of creepy for her. Not something she was exactly fond of. So when Rhagna backed up she did as well. Smacking him on the arm she half hissed. "Don't just stand there.. go do your swordsman thing." She urged.
What good was a tough friend if he didn't do tough things when she couldn't? Iriyana stared at the Keldari and felt shivers run down her spine. "That thing is creepy. Where did you say it came from?" Riya was fairly certain it was not a Zenan native.

Rhag’na made a face, usually this kind of thing didn’t faze him and he wasn’t afraid he was just very, very cautious at the moment.
“What if it spits poison at me? I need to be careful and think about this!” Think, think… Nothing came to mind, perhaps if he bore a shield things would be a lot different.
“Yael I believe?” But he really wasn’t sure. “That is certainly a place I will never venture to if everything looks like that.” It definitely looked like something spawned by an evil trickster god. The Keldari started slithering towards them and Rhag’na backed up again but no use. It was still headed for them. He turned, gripping Riya by the shoulders before twirling out of the things way. It slithered right past them and continued as if they hadn’t been there to begin with.
“Maybe it’s blind?” He released Riya and watched the thing move.

A look was tossed his way but she didn't say anything else. Though when he told her the place that it had come from and said that he didn't want to go there if everything looked as it did she agreed with him. "Agreed but isn't Yael like.. south. Faaaaaarrr south?" What was one of it's creatures doing here?
When Rahgna moved back she did as well to avoid being stepped on. Riya was none too thrilled with the creepy beast. Then he moved them both out of the way and it continued on. "It has multiple eyes, how can it be blind!" Not that it mattered the two of them made enough noise so that it would be able to locate them even if it was without sight. Riya pouted slightly. "It better not have poisoned Hugs."

“Yes it is,” he was a little surprised she’d heard of it. “It probably belongs to a merchant who was careless with his cargo. I will have to warn my brothers of this, it must be reported to avoid incident.” They would not like what he would have to describe to them. Ah well, warriors would be warriors and they were here to defend those around them were they not?
“The number of eyes does not matter; if it is blind then it is blind.” He said simply, Rhag’na didn’t really know how else to explain it to her. When she mentioned Hugs again Rhag’na giggled again, that name would haunt him forever it seems.
“It might have eaten him?” He said, glancing around looking for her pet.

She smacked his arm gently when he mentioned the weird animal having eaten her Perzi. "Seriously. Hugs is a sensitive boy." Riya got along just fine with the feline beast so she didn't understand why others didn't like him.
"Now go be a swordsman and check for Hugs." She pointed to where the Keldari had come from. Iriyana was brave on most fronts but not this time.

Rhag’na followed to where she pointed and kept a straight face. On the inside he sighed, hesitated briefly as he assessed the situation before walking over albeit slowly. He peered over the bush and didn’t see the beast from before. Good, but that didn’t mean it was totally safe yet! He stepped in, moving things slowly and gently so he didn’t scare anything that might not want to be found. It didn’t look like there was her Hugs anywhere here.
“Not here,” Rhag’na said as his eyes moved to different hiding spots that he thought Hugs might have been hiding in.
When he turned around, he ducked quickly just as a clawed hand came swapping at his face. Rhag’na made a face and starred up at the Perzi eyeing him on a branch.
“Found him,” Still ducked, Rhag’na moved away from the branch just as the Perzi began hissing at him. “He wasn’t even in any danger from that height.” Not from the creepy thing at least. But he’d become a danger by being up there and swapping at people. Rhag’na could have lost an eye! “He’s up on the branch.”
