After an argument with her mother, Akeldama was out on her own late at night. She didn't think anything of it since she was still within the village. Zinris had become like a prison for her but she didn't dare leave it. Mostly because she knew her mother would come looking for her and be angrier than hungry keldari. Just for that reason alone her mother was scary. She kicked at the ground as she walked, pushing fallen leaves, dirt, and rocks into the air. Akel watched them fall back to the ground at different speeds and sighed. Why did her yellow skinned mother have to argue with her about everything all the time. She knew that she was an Elarian. She knew that she was among the first generation of the new race. And with that came responsibilities. All of this she knew.
Giving a roll of her pure green eyes she turned to head toward a small clearing that had some fallen trees to sit on. Or balance on. Or whatever she felt like doing. Honestly she wasn't so sure what she wanted. When she made it to the clearing she heard something that made the feelers by her ears move. Instantly she was on the offensive. Was someone trying to sneak into the village? Was an alkidike cousin trying to test her? Or was it one of her sisters out for training? It could have been any of those things but it was none. Instead what she found was a strange insect like creature gliding right at her. Akel frowned at it and shook her head before she reached up and batted it from the air. The dark red haired female didn't have time to mess with creatures wanting to attack or be scary or whatever it was this thing was trying to do.
As it landed on the ground she watched it for a moment then stepped closer. She'd not seen anything like it before and so she was curious about it. So far she didn't think that it was a native of Yael. It lacked the usual tall tale signs of the poisonous environment. In fact, the coloring on the beast was interesting. It definitely looked bright enough to be poisonous but for some reason she didn't think it was. Ah well, she could always keep it and take it to her mother, ask the woman if it had come from the mainland. Or if it was a creature from her homeland here and she simply hadn't seen it before in her life. Either way, the result would be the same. She would keep it as her own. Train it to be vicious. Maybe have it work closely with her during battles. Akeldama reached down and collected the bug roughly from the ground. With it secured under one arm she tapped it on the head when it tried to wiggle away. When it was still again she nodded her head firmly then started to head back home. She had many questions for her mother.
