You're attacked by a group of three small animals -- your choice what sort, but they should be native to the Louisiana area. Their eyes are crazed, and their action are erratic, implying that there's no sense behind their actions. These are wild beasts, and they attack together.
Hit Points: 10 each, for a total of 30, but one dies for each 10 HP damage you do to them. Damage: Each does 2 each time you attack, for a total of 6 to start. This number goes down as you kill them.
If you successfully kill all three animals and reach 500 words, each party involved in the battle gets 10XP and rolls 1d100 to collect loot according to the following:
1-10: You are bitten during the attack, and are turned into an animal! Size is determined by your weapon: agile weapons become small animals, balanced become medium sized, and heavy become large. 11-40: You gain nothing but the victory of having beaten this opponent. 41-90: Moly Flower: a small white flower with a dark root. You're not quite sure what it's for, but decide to keep it. 91-100: Rabid Blood: these creatures have been infected with something that makes their blood potent. It can be vialed and used once to deal an extra 3 damage [after modifiers] on your next successful attack, after which it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever.

Refreshed, a shower and a trip in town to scrounge up some cheap clothing options, and something to clean their clothing in the inn sink, Lex felt almost human. Certainly better than they had been. Their nails were notorious though. They couldn’t get them clean no matter how much they tried picking under them. Orange sticks would help, but that would have to wait. And well, they was still running about the swamp, searching for turned people and rabid creatures, made crazy with whatever it was the witch had let loose in the swamp.
Lex paused, hearing loud and angry croaking and looked down, taking in the squat and angry looking toads. <******** me. Lex sighed, batting away one of the angry croaker and gave a displeased hiss as the others jumped him. They really, really hated frogs and toads. Salamanders at least were cute and derpy.

The frog that jumped them, gave a sad squelching sound as their knuckles met it, liquid splattering. So, so gross. Lex wrinkled their nose and winced as the other two pelted them and why did it have to be frogs. Or toads. So, so grosss.

The one good thing about fighting sick frogs was that they squished easily enough. They were small and wet and gross and really went splat. Which was just, so, so gross. Lex gave a displeased noise, that certainly was not a whine, as one peed on them.
They were going to kill them all. No question about it. They were going to kill all of these disgusting things.

As the frogs launched at them again, Lex knocked one down to the earth and vindictively and viciously stomped it. Gross, gross, gross! They scraped the guts off on the tree trunks. Eww, eww, it was stuck on his tennis shoes. “Why, why are all of you just so disgusting!” They shouted and flailed slightly.
Ugh. They hated frogs! They hated toads. They were hating nature and this swamp.

So they had stolen his current clothes, for reasons, it didn’t mean that they wanted to be covered in frog… toad, guts. There was guts now. It turns out thin skin creatures sort of broke if you punched them hard. Lex was starting to somewhat regret their weapon choice. Other things bleed.
Just more of nature to hate. Well the swamp to hate. Lex thought things would be different if it was Michigan. Their forests weren’t hot sweaty deathtraps.

They wonder if they could talk their mom and sister into apple picking and cider, just something relaxing and not life threating. Lex shifted and kicked the last remaining frog away from them. Ugh, why couldn’t it just die.

That… was not the smartest thing they have ever done. Lex lifted up their shoe, having stomped down and groaned at the mess. Eww. Not a good idea. Do not smash frogs with feet. Lex scraped the remains on a tree sighing. They preferred other prey… when they had to actually battle to a death… deaths.
