Pyre fluttered a few steps, gliding more or less off of his seat and to the edge of the rug. Flying was pretty far out of his realm yet but flapping his feathery appendages always felt good, getting out his antsy feelings. The thick-lashed Freshling sighed contently, looking around. Hmm. He hadn't mastered the clock he but he was pretty sure when the big hand was there and the little hand there it was almost snack time. The Fallen's stomach rumbled a bit pitifully. "Do we eat snack soon?" he asked softly to no one in particular, running his stubby fingers through the ends of his long hair with a frown as he began to wander almost aimlessly. Pyre always looked a little shy, but they were always enough absorbed with themselves they never truly felt alone.

 Lorek nibbled his lip absentmindedly. Life had been interesting lately with all his new siblings, not that he was complaining in the least, he was happy to have more family, but it was taking some getting used to since he was so used to being the youngest, but he was growing up now. He had become, more or less, a teacher's pet. While for some kids that meant that he was ripe to make fun of, being able to do things to help made him feel happy and was starting to get him out of his shell just a little... well, maybe.
He stared at the teacher while she handed him some cups that had some snacks in it. He was extremely nervous about talking to his fellow students, but he wanted to make the teacher's life easier, so he began his chore of handing them out. He was thankful that most of them didn't pay him much mind, they were just happy to finally get something in their stomachs. Not that he minded talking to people, he was just extremely shy. He finally only had two cups left, one for a Fallen Freshling and the other for himself. So he carefully went over there and held the cup out, trying to be as friendly as possible. "Here you go."

As if some angel akin to Mom appeared with food at hand, Pyre's eyes flew open wide and a soft smile blossomed across the Fallen's face. "Snack," the boy chirped happily, taking the cup before suddenly looking a bit sheepish. He was capable of more than one word responses after all.
"Thank you," he tried again, ear tufts wiggling in contentment as he shoved his tiny fingers into the cup. The gummies were all red, which was fine by Pyre but they were curious. Maybe it was a trait of having so many siblings, the desire to always be treated as an equal. "Do you have red gummies too?" Pyre asked in their whisper voice, head cocked to the side. With a smile, he held out an open hand with a pair of red cherry gummies in the middle for comparison.

Lorek was about to go back to a lone little corner to eat his snack when he heard the other Freshling ask him a question. He paused in his tracks, not used to anyone addressing him since he was so painfully shy. However, he was glad that the other Freshling did. It wasn't often that he got to talk to other people in class, and it actually made him smile a little. He glanced down into his cup, "Mine are orange." He pulled out one of the little candies to show the other kid. "Do you want one?" He offered. He wanted to come closer but wasn't sure what the other child's reaction to him would be, so he kept himself a pace or two apart, letting the other come closer if he wanted the snacks.

"I like orange," Pyre agreed, ear tufts wiggling as he hopped a step closer. "Do you want to trade some?" the Fallen boy asked, smiling warmly. He could tell Lorek was being a little cautious, but the soft-spoken boy wasn't sure why.
"I like red too though, so it's okay if you don't want to," he added on encase the suggestion caused the other boy some discomfort. Not everyone was so open to sharing like him and all of his siblings. The idea of having personal items was slightly abstract to him. He leaned onto his toes, clearly interested in whatever flavors might be floating around the room too.

Lorek watched the boy come closer to him. He tried his best to keep himself from jumping since he was usually way too shy to talk to other people. This kid seemed really nice though, or he thought so so far. "I'm good with trading some, if you'd like?" He offered a few for the other boy in an outstretched hand. "I'm.... I'm Lorek." He figured he should at least introduce himself, though he wasn't sure if the boy would continue talking to him after the trade concluded. "Are you looking for something?" He questioned when he saw the Fallen lift himself up on his toes.

"Sure!" Pyre chirped, smile still bright as he gently poured a few of his gummies into the other boy's hand. With his nimble little fingers, he plucked an equal number out of Lorek's hand. Then, immediately, he popped all three into his mouth. "Thank you!" he mumbled, doing his best not to spit any chunks at the other.
Pyre swallowed, wings ruffling in delight. "Sorry, they're really yummy," he informed in his soft tone. "I'm Pyre," the Fallen boy informed, blue yes bright as ever. "I was just looking what the others got," he informed warmly. "I like sharing, and blue tastes good too. Thank you for giving me some oranges."

Lorek smiled a little, still feeling incredibly nervous about the whole exchange. "You're welcome!" He squeaked out, anxiously looking at his cup that now held both orange and red candies. He reached in, grabbing a red one and gently plucked it into his mouth. "They are really yummy."
"It's nice to meet you, Pyre." He watched the boy and couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm, wishing he had had that much. It slightly reminded him of Kiessi, his oldest sibling. No matter what, Kiessi had always seemed to have a smile on their face. "I think someone has some blues, and purple ones..." He stated, remembering when he was handing them out.

He just smiled, pleased to see that Lorek was lightening up the slightest. The boy had seemed really stiff before. At the mention of others, he swiveled around on his small feet, a brief look of mischief crossing his lips. "I think I am out of gummies to barter," the Fallen informed with a giggle, showing his empty, but sticky palm.
Pyre shrugged, moving to push his long locks behind his ear tuft. "Is snack time your favorite class too?" he boy teased. Of course, he knew it was not actually a class, but it was still apart of his favorite time of the day at school.

Lorek noted when Pyre showed him the cup. He then reached out, offering the few gummies that were left in his cup. He never had that much of a sweet tooth, so he was happy to help if he could. "You can have the rest of mine, if you like?"
To the question, he slowly shook his head. "Honestly, no. I much prefer learning things. I really like Math!" He sheepishly replied, noticing that he and Pyre probably didn't have all that much in common, but he thought the boy was really nice and hoped they could be friends. He opened his mouth to say something further when he heard the teacher call out that snack time was over. "Well, it was nice meeting you. Maybe we can hang out sometime?" He offered, not wanting to lose his possible first friend outside of his family.
