Level 1 commoner, any standard race. 0 points for point buy (you may lower an ability to raise another). Starting gold is 1d6x10. System is Pathfinder. No alignment restrictions, you might end up leaning close to evil by the first week, depending on how you abuse your "gift" (to come).

Point of this game is that whenever you kill something, you may absorb one (and only one) of it abilities or traits; Its size, speeds, special attacks/qualities, senses, natural attacks/armor, spells, spell-like abilities, skill ranks, feats, +4 racial to Cha, ******** it has. Physical changes accompany the ability absorbed, depending on the physical characteristics of the creature it was absorbed from. +8 racial to perception from a Hawk? You have Hawk eyes now. Grab on claws from crabs? You're now Zoidberg.

Restrictions:
-If a Feat/Ability has a prereq other than class, you must have that prerequisite. You want Weapon Specialization? Then you need Weapon Focus in that weapon.
-SOME abilities have level requirements to balance the game out. Other abilities won't be allowed.
-A vermin's "Immunity to Mind-Affecting" is by virtue of its NA Int. Killing a bug and taking that doesn't make you immune to Charm Person, it puts you in a catatonic state... which then makes you immune.
-

Size changes apply when determining racial bonuses to ability scores if such scores are not determined by the creature's stats. For instance, the difference between a tiny creature and a medium one is +8 points of Str, -4 Dex, and +2 Con. For reference, here, is the size chart, as screenshotted from a word doc since tabbing doesn't work here.

Cascade
Day 0, hour 4

You awake to a normal day in Castlehaven. With the bustling sounds of early dock workers outside your home and the light pouring through the window gives you a sense of serenity. It looks as if it might be a wonderful day! Shaking off the echos of dreams from your mind, you rise from your simple bed and prep yourself for the tasks ahead.

(Castlehaven is a large city with a highly diverse population, human majority. It is governed by a council [NG]. The city is arranged into separate districts: Market, Wharf, Docks, Temple, Noble, Urban, and Military.

Days take place in three 8-hour segments, one of which is usually required to sleep.)

((money roll))

Letting out a yawn Wei Ren (pronounced Way Ren [means 'for the people']) vigorously rubs his face with both hands. Looking out and smiling at the light, Ah! Yesterday was good. Today can only get better!

Hopping out of bed, loosely fluffs his covers so it looks neat and prepares for his morning rituals before checking his stores on dried and drying herbs.

Everything seems in its place, save for a drafty hole chewed in the corner near the floor and a winding trail of crumbs. It appears as if rats may have gotten in! Damages seem minor, in all, a few herbs here and there have been nibbled, but nothing seems contaminated.

The day starts off slow, as it usually does. Most seeking treatment typically come later in the day, when injury is most likely to occur. Not many have reckless behaviour at night due to a vigilant night watch.

The daytime customers are the usual; older folks who swear on Ren's work who purchase small amounts of herbs and gossip, and farmer's wives with often false concerns over their reckless kids.

(Heal/Profession check, divided by 2, then by 7. That's how much gold you earn in a single 8-hour day working.)

((Heal +3))

Scowling at his takes the old man's pulse, "You should know better than to drink so much at night. Too much cold in you, not enough heat! Make sure you add some ginger in your diet for the next few days! Don't make me get out the medical tea."
~~~~~
"Hai, hai. Your son is fine, just a small roll of the joint. Urf!" Leaning back to avoid the crying child's flailing limbs as Wei rolls the child's ankle before using his palms to apply some pressure as he vigorously rubs at the joint. "I'm afraid I'll have to sell you a small dose of oil. Apply and rub like the way I am doing on this part of his ankle." Gets kicked in the shoulder but otherwise continues, "Rest his ankle on your thigh like I am. Apply a bit of oil on palm and rub hard. This will dissipate the bruised blood and help with healing."
(Aww yiss, commoner pay)
The weary wife nods, "I think I can manage, thank you so much!"
She pays what she can and hauls her grumpy son from the shop. As you turn to start putting things away, your hear the door open, and the sound of metal footsteps on wood.
"Not exactly ideal, but this'll have to do." A woman's voice clears, "Greetings! I assume you are the owner of this establishment?"
Turning up to see who it is, you are met with a heavily armored woman in her late thirties. While reminiscent of guard armor, the motifs on her armor are simplier and more designed for functionality than presence. Her eyes look very tired, yet carry an abashed expression.
Smiling, "Uh. I am the bonesetter of the area, but if you need a place to spend the night... I do not believe my home will be good place. But if you are need of a doctor, how may I help, miss... uh..."
The woman's eyes light up, "A bonesetter? Perfect." She steps forward and offers a hand, "The name is Anjali. Not here for the night, I am here on behalf of the Houssen Sanitarium. We had an... incident last night with one of our.." she pauses, as if searching for the right word, clearly sleep deprived. She runs a hand through her cropped hair, "With a patient, yes. His arm appears to be broken, likely snapped it himself when no one was watching."
Anjali smiles, "I was sort of hoping you might be interested in making sure it heals properly? We'd get the Church, but gods, they nit-pick our work so much that we figured we'd check elsewhere first."
Brows furrows, "Yes? Wow... Permit me a moment to gather some medicine and oils and I shall be with you shortly." Running around his home, Wei rapidly opens and closes small cabinet draws filled with different medical herbs and placing and wrapping them in paper. Some herbs are placed together while others he painstakingly keeps separate. Grabbing his thin blanket from his bed, he places the wrapped herbs and a bottle of medical oil in the center before folding over it a few times before tying the bindle on his back, securing it with a wok. "All ready!"
Anjali nods, "The Sanitarium is not far from here, it should only take an hour or two out of your night."
Anjali leads Wei up the hill from the docks, deeper into town. She doesn't talk much, stumbles over a loose cobblestone occasionally, and blearily greets every guard she passes in a casual fashion.
Stopping before a tall metal gate, Anjali stretches, "Let's get you in and me to bed." She motions, as another guard stands to attention and approaches the gate, unlocking it to let the two in. A two-story stone building dominates an unkempt, grassy courtyard, with barred windows and the occasional scream from within.
"Maaaaan, am I glad to see you. Scrobe has been asking where you were, he's about ready to tear this place apart."
Anjali tilts her head towards Wei, "Well, tell Scrobe I saved him a few thousand crowns (gold). This fine gentleman here is a bonesetter, he said he'd be willing to help."
"Wait, you did?" The second guard sizes up Wei, "You ever been inside before? Not exactly a place for the faint of heart."
Anjali places an encouraging armored hand on Wei's shoulder, "You'll do fine." Yawning, she bows her head, "I need to sleep, been up all night. You handle yourself in there, ya hear?" She turns to leave Wei with the second guard, weaving her way down the street.
Giving the guard a friendly wave, Wei shakes his head, "I've never even heard of this place... maybe in passing, but no. Never been here before. But if have a patient, so I must go."
Wei bows as Anjali leaves, "Good night to you." Turning to face the guard he is now entrusted to, "I am ready."
He nods, but his bored expression remains, "Alright then, sir, if you would.."
He leads the way inside, taking care to sort the keys before opening the heavy oak doors and stepping inside to let Wei in.
The reception beyond is immaculate. Every stone surface is polished to a sheen, as if mocking the conditions outside. A desk sits to one side, behind which is a timid-looking elven woman in priestly attire.
Bickering at the top of his lungs is an older gentleman in a long, black coat. His thinning hair is slicked back, and his hooked nose juts at an odd angle, "I don't care what that crone demands, that fat idiot wouldn't know the difference between a stable individual and a madman if one broke into his home and had their way with his kids. No vistors after hours means no visitors!"
The elf bows her head apologetically before noticing the new arrival. The older gent turns on his heel, keeping his arms crossed behind his back. The elf gives a relieved expression before returning to her seat.
"Boli! Just in the nic of time, I was just looking for you. When Sergeant Anjali returns, tell her to.."
"She went home to sleep, sir. Brought this fellow to take a look at the dragonfly-nutter, says he's a bonesetter. Anjali..."
"Will get an earful for ignoring what I said when she returns," the man dismisses the guard and steps up to Wei, "So, a bonesetter you say? Well then, just my luck. Suppose Anjali put you up to this? No matter, I am Scrobe Houssen, owner of this house of the damned, er, pleasure, Mr...?"
