 Frey sighed and wondered why he had been talked into this. It was ridiculous. He was hardly the type to go to amusement parks in the first place and he was even less of the type to go to scare parks. However here he was locked in a section of the Haunted house. He looked around the macabre setting. Of course to make matters worse he had to be trapped in the section near the end where they had the pike display with the tortured souls and of course the lighting was red to make the mist showering down on him look like, well something else. To put it frankly Frey was never leaving his room or Salon again. To make matters even worse is that he had lost his so called classmates who had dragged him on this adventure and was stuck with someone he didn’t even know. “Okay this is ridiculous. Let’s just get this over with. Who knows when they’ll actually manage to get the door open? I’m Frey.”

 Ren wanted to pretty much curl up in a ball in the corner and sob. The one time he convinced himself to try a scare park because it was nearing Haunted hallows and thus the season for them the haunted house breaks down and he’s stuck in practically the creepiest place ever, and of course there was no place to sit really either. The only really saving grace was he hadn’t been trapped in here alone, although the litch he was trapped with didn’t really look to friendly. Well he supposed people who weren’t as much of an anti-social butterfly as himself would get angry in this situation. Seriously if the attraction was going to break like this, then why it was even open to the public? The creepy music was not helping either. Of course when Frey suddenly spoke Ren practically jumped three feet in the air and had to take deep breaths to control his breathing. “Ah... sorry. I’m Ren.”

Frey raised his eyebrow at the jump. He hadn’t been that startling either, but then the fey did kind of look a bit skiddish. It was quite obvious his companion wasn’t a horror fan. Frey wondered if they had been dragged along by their friends or something. If that was the case Ren’s luck was rather sucky. Then again Frey couldn’t really cast stones. He was in the same boat. With a sigh he found a relatively decoration free patch of wall that wasn’t wet and leaned up against it. He’d sit but considering the traffic in the room the floor had to be filthy.
“Well I’d say nice to meet you but you get what I mean. You know they could have turned the music and effects for this room off.” Frey complained. Sometimes it was just time to start up a conversation besides his acquaintance looked like he could do with some distracting. Hell he could do with some distraction and the ambience was barely getting to him.

Oh dear they weren’t going to start a conversation here of all places where they? Then again hadn’t Ren been trying to be more social and outgoing and it wasn’t like he was going anywhere anytime fast, no matter how Ren wished the contrary. Besides it would get his mind off the poor lighting hitting the head props and the fact he was damp. It was probably unlikely that he was ever going to see Frey again. So with a deep breath he focused his attention on proving Frey with at least tolerable conversation, or at least that was the hope.
Ren did have to laugh however at Frey’s snarkiness. It kind of reminded him of Mai’s older brother on Vanna’s really long days. “Yeah but maybe this is the only lighting in the room and all the things that need power in this room are connected to one switch. I think I prefer the creepy atmosphere to no light” He pointed out. He smiled at the disgusted look that passed over Frey’s features or at least what he assumed was a disgusted look. He had mentioned the whole horror lighting right?

“Ugh, yeah I guess I prefer at least some kind of light to none at all” Frey replied with a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair before crossing his arms. Being in this room in the dark and trapped would be a nightmare and he wasn’t even claustrophobic. There was just something creepy about pitch darkness, considering the props in the room it could even lead to injury if you stumbled around and accidentally fell. Yeah definitely preferred the creepy light, so he supposed he’d take the creepy music and sprinkler system as well.
Hmm ball was still in his court for conversation. What more could he say that didn’t delve into academy talk. Frey was pretty sure he had seen Ren around at school and he was out and way from school to get away from it for a while. Of course he should have just taken extra shifts at the salon to achieve that goal. At least when you got trapped in there you had things to do.
“So, moving on to more desirable topics, sort of…. what brought you to the park? You don’t really seem like a horror type of guy” Frey finally decided.

“Oh I’m not. I actively hate the horror genre pretty much. I just… well figured I should work on the whole being social thing. Group of classmates wanted to come and they asked me because they had an extra ticket and viola here I am. I can say it’s cleared my desire of visiting on again.” Ren sighed and then took a good luck at Frey. Since Frey had brought attention to the topic Frey didn’t really seem like the scare park kind of guy either but Ren didn’t really want to turn around and ask Frey why he was here. It just seemed forced somehow. Oh he he didn’t know. However he didn’t really know how to bounce the ball back. What did one talk about when trapped with a near stranger?
He was used to being the one that sat in the back row that no one paid attention to. He was working on being more sociable though because of/for Mai. However people still really didn’t talk to him that much, other than to well bully him on the occasion.

“I guess I have a similar tale only one of my club mates is part of the radio station and they come out here for jobs and stuff on big event days. Today was apparently the day they got in free and supposedly I need to socialize more. Yippee me. I’m starting to think I should put my foot down more, nothing they drag me to actually seems to work out.” Frey stated, knowing that Ren wanted to ask but not sure how to do it really, if his face was any indication. It was then that he heard noise from the other side of the door again. It sounded somewhat closer. Good he was getting hungry to tell the truth and he so wanted out of this room.
“Hmm I guess for being stuck with someone you aren’t that bad. Maybe I should fix my early statement to ‘nice to meet you’” Frey commented and let out a rare smile when Ren apparently couldn’t hold in his laughter any more.

Ren had also heard the noise. It was way closer than just twenty minutes ago. Hopefully they would be out any moment. Frey wasn’t really too bad either. A bit snarky, and it was still really awkward with the conversation but Frey wasn’t giving him too much of a hard time with it. Besides his classmates where horror lovers... geeks...? Anyways he’d rather they not have to deal with him not really having a fun time, or making fun of him when he let one of the exhibits scare him too badly.
“You aren’t that bad yourself Frey. Thanks for starting up a conversation. It helped. I guess I was starting to freak out a bit. I… you wouldn’t happen to have a..” Ren started but never got to finish as the door suddenly swung open. Ah well his question wasn’t really that important anyways. He gave one last look at Frey before turning to fend off the questions about his well being and the staff apologizing left and right for the whole incident.

Frey had kind of wanted to know what Ren was going to ask him but the second they got out he was ambushed by his party and the staff. This is why he didn’t like getting trapped in places, but he put up with the concern for his well being and agreed to the voucher for free food since obviously he wasn’t coming back to the scare park. Well he did get free tickets to that, but maybe Ash knew someone who would enjoy going.
Eventually though he convinced his party that he was fine and that they should go try to enjoy the rest of the attraction. He’d promise he’d meet them next club meeting and that he was going to go home. Luckily they understood and he was free to go get his Funnel cake and enjoy it in relative peace without fending off apologizes.
However that unanswered question was getting on his nerves. It was about then that he spotted familiar patterns and after taking a bite walked over again. “I take it you shook off your companions as well. What was that question you wanted to ask me?”

Ren blinked as he was suddenly face to face with Frey again. He really thought that after they had partied ways to go with their parties again he wouldn’t see the litch. When Frey then wanted to know his question he nibbled nervously on his bottom lip. It sounded kind of dorky but he thought that maybe with a little time he could make Frey a friend.
“Ah yeah I did. I told them I’d find a way home and to not let me put a damper on them enjoying the attraction. Eventually I drove them off. As for the question... Well I was just going to ask if you wanted to send out parties on their merry way and well I hadn’t gotten that far actually and not really passed the part of asking if you had a way back to the academy. If you even dormed at the academy."
“Haha I do and I do. Come on Ren I’ll go rescue you” Frey laughed rescuing from his bumbling.
Ren smiled. He wondered if Mai and his Grandfather would believe him if he made what seemed like a friend by getting trapped in a haunted house attraction. Somehow he thought it would be a no.
