LIVELY
xxx»» Mercy has almost boundless energy and enthusiasm. When she's bored, she becomes insufferable, because to her there is no greater travesty than having even a second of time you're not doing something fun. She's always down to do anything with friends, or make new friends if the ones she has are busy. She pretty much never stops smiling, laughing, chattering away about something cool or exciting. She's very animated, gesturing wildly with her hands when she speaks, and her words come out a million miles an hour. Overall, she's a very exhausting person to be around, but fun, so it's mostly worth it.

RECKLESS
xxx»» If you've ever seen a show on the telly that started with a 'don't try this at home' disclaimer, there's a roughly 50% chance Mercy has in fact tried this at home. If she hasn't, it's probably because she lacked the supplies to pull it off. Overall, she'll try anything once, no matter how ridiculous or dangerous or scary it might be. She likes challenges, and especially challenges that are likely to give her eldest sister a heart attack. Her adventurous spirit extends into most any area of her life, she's not one to let fear hold her back. There are exceptions, of course, but she's only human.

DEVIOUS
xxx»» Growing up as the spoiled baby of her family, Merc got very good at manipulating her various family members into getting her way. She was always quite content to lie through her teeth, quite convincingly, and tell her Mum 'Da said I could do it' and tell her Da 'I asked you while you were watching the game, don't you remember?' when he questioned the truth of that. Her elder sisters could be harder to lie to, because they were generally naturally suspicious of her, but save instances where she nearly got herself killed, they were also more likely to pretend to believe the lie and let it go. She likes playing everyone against each other. She tries to avoid doing anything that will cause any real trouble among her family, particularly her parents, but sometimes the temptation is too difficult to resist.

IMMATURE
xxx»» Mercy is, at her heart, a child. She's easy to amuse, and quick to make every single joke you read on the internet as if she's the genius that came up with it. She doesn't have a wealth of patience, possessing a remarkably short attention span and absolutely no attention to detail. She doesn't really understand boundaries very well, except those she sets for herself, and tends to not think her actions through until it's too late. She very much lacks the capacity to see the consequences of her actions until she's presented with them.

TENACIOUS
xxx»» Mercy's motto in the face of failure has always been 'fail better.' She doesn't give up on things, no matter how many times she messes it up. Basically the only way to get her to study is to tell her she can't pass a class, which will result in her spending hours pouring over books and practicing to prove you wrong. She will tackle any challenge with a stubborn refusal to do anything but succeed. She will only relent when whatever she's attempting is proven to be literally impossible, and since the advent of magic in her life, convincing her of such has become difficult.

INATTENTIVE
xxx»» Mercy has absolutely no attention span, at least for anything she doesn't find engaging enough. She'll follow along with her games or her telly programs well enough, as long as they're exciting with a lot of explosions. She's absolutely the person who complains about movies when they're 'too talky', which is code for 'not 90% explosions and car chases'. Her inability to focus on one thing for very long even continues on into her conversation skills, in that she will talk a lot, very rapidly, and oftentimes leave her partner wondering how they got from point A to point B. It's especially bad when her mind goes off on a random tangent and she changes subjects literally mid-sentence.

CHILDHOOD
xxx»» Mercy is the youngest of three girls born to William and Brooke Sanderson. Their eldest daughter, Patience, was something of an accident their first year at Uni, conceived only a month into their relationship. The pair agreed to continue seeing one another, and also to parent their child together, but to try and keep the two entirely separate, an endeavor which unsurprisingly failed rather quickly. They ended up marrying within a week of Patience's birth, and chose her name 'ironically' due to their supposed lack. Their second daughter Hope was born three years later, and the couple separated shortly after her birth, finding that they fought more than they did anything else. They kept in touch so that they would both be in the girl's lives, and found eight years later that they were getting along better than ever before. They rekindled their relationship, and ended up celebrating the birth of their youngest roughly nine months after their 'first' date. Mercy, being significantly younger than Hope and Patience, was spoiled relentlessly by all, and got away with nearly anything. Her eldest sister was always something of a flower child, and very difficult to anger or frustrate, making her name surprisingly apt. Hope, meanwhile, was quite introverted and generally kept to herself, but had a soft spot for 'her baby.' When Mercy received her Hogwarts letter, the entire family was quite shocked, though it lasted all of two seconds before they decided it made perfect sense and explained a lot of oddness about the girl.

SCHOOL YEARS

FIRST YEAR »» -Mercy's first year of Hogwarts was equal parts horribly disappointing, and hopelessly thrilling. Things like History of Magic and homework were a total snooze, but on the other hand, more action-oriented classes excited her to no end. She made sure to befriend as many kids as she could, bonding with a few of her classmates and even a boy in the year ahead of her. Alby was equally concerned over missing the very important premier of a very important action movie, and the two were instant best friends over expressing their lament. She's actually somewhat disappointed to be going home.
SECOND YEAR »» Mercy spent as little of her summer home as she possibly could, though whenever she was alone, she found herself bored to tears. She managed to get Alby to meet up with her to hang out some, which helped alleviate her boredom, but all in all she did almost nothing, and couldn't stand it. School at least brought lessons, which were interesting enough, except Astronomy, which was utterly dull. When she learned about stars, she wanted to learn about things like what they were made of and how big the super nova would be when they died. Looking at them and learning the basics was great and all, but she already knew all that stuff and she could look at them whenever she wanted. Potions was significantly more interesting, if only because at least when she screwed up in that class, there was a chance something would blow up.
THIRD YEAR »» Merc's school year got off to something of a dramatic start, to say the least. She met up with Alby at the train station, and got to meet her friend's nephew, who she quickly determined was exactly as horrible as Alby had made him sound, if not more so. Merc would like to say that she regretted hitting the kid, except no she wouldn't, because he was a prat. Unfortunately, he didn't learn his lesson, and continued to be a prat right up until Alby had apparently had enough. Surprise surprise, all it took was the little arsehat insulting Tiernan to rile his uncle up, and Alby ended up shoving Adam and dragging him out of the Great Hall. Of course, this resulted in Alby getting 'banished' or some shite, but Merc personally think that's a step up from what he's been dealing with family-wise. Especially since it means he gets a sweet house all to himself.
FOURTH YEAR »» Mercy started her fourth year of school on a mission. She'd spotted Tiernan hanging out with some kid at the train station, some kid who she did not recognize and absolutely should have, on account of his having blue hair. Curiosity got the better of her one morning when she spotted him alone at the Ravenclaw table, and she interrupted his breakfast to satisfy it. Unfortunately, she bit of more than she could chew, and had an incredibly awkward conversation with the boy. A few of his responses to her questions set off warning bells in her head, and she rather ungracefully left, only to have him follow after her to apologize for making her uncomfortable. She tried to make it clear that she'd left because of his discomfort, not her own, but they essentially just argued the point back and forth until she was quite literally saved by the bell. Curiosity mixed with concern led her to do some digging, and she discovered that she'd basically been walking in a minefield with Glynn, who had very recently undergone a lot of exceptionally horrible trauma that she'd been poking at. She decided it was best for her to leave him alone, but was now emotionally invested in him out of sympathy. Her plan was to alert his actual friends of his troubling responses, and make them do something about it. Of course, she had to plan how best to go about that before she could actually do it.
FIFTH YEAR »» Mercy got into contact with Tiernan over the holiday, the only one of Glynn's friends she was even remotely close to, to discuss his 'issues'. The pair sniped at each other a little over ice cream, but it boiled down to them more or less having the same opinion, that he was suppressing his feelings and needed both support, and to be honest with himself. Merc didn't think she was in any position to help with either, and tried to convince Tiernan to head the front, or talk to one of his other friends about it. Tiernan, apparently, disagreed, and ended up roping Merc into a trip to the cinema with Glynn, herself and Alby there as a buffer. It was an odd experience, to say the least, since Glynn clearly had no idea what a movie even was, but she managed to make it through without completely offending him like the last time they'd spoken, so it was an improvement. Throughout the school year, she kept an eye on him and orbited around their semi-mutual friendgroup, not really sure what else to do with herself but still feeling like she should help.
