Yukie is fairly intelligent as evidenced by her ability to wield genjutsu to such a strong degree. Her mental capacity is also shown through her ability to interrogate others subtly or through powerful genjutsu. However her second personality can sometimes get a little carried away and forget itself rather than remaining objective and analyzing the situation at hand. For the most part the second personality is kept in check through strong mental discipline and by only using her kekkei genkai in a limited capacity. Overall Yukie is smart and somewhat creative though she's not anything close to a genius by a long shot.
Fighting Tendencies
A specialist in genjutsu by both blood and training Yukie is a long range fighter that relies on the use of genjutsu to stun her target before moving in for a kill. In a tight spot however her kekkei genkai can be used to kill her opponent at range by using nothing but genjutsu. Going along with this rather indirect method of fighting she often utilizes poison and deception to attempt a victory without having to actually fight. If caught in a close range fight she stays light on her feet and will attempt to use poisoned blades to end the fight if genjutsu fails.

Inspite of Iwagakure's harsh culture Yukie is a carefree woman who likes drinking tea and thinking about a peaceful world in which everyone can be friends. Apparently you can take the girl out of Hi no Kuni but you can't takeHi no Kuni out of the girl. Despite her appearance she seems relatively uninterested in carnal pleasures but is instead an avid reader of romance novels which focus on love and affection. Ultimately she's quite dutiful and despite seeming low key is quite serious about ensuring future generations of shinobi will have the skills they need to survive. To that end she is someone who is willing to die for her comrades or to kill for them. No doubt the training regimen of Iwagakure rubbed off on her at least a little.

History
Prior to current events Yukie lived a pretty uneventful life as far that goes in the shinobi world. Born to two parents of the Kurama clan her life began as any other child's, screaming and crying while naked in the arms of a doctor. With fate having chosen her to be a member of a clan known for a powerful kekkei genkai it remained to be seen what life would hold for the child in the future. Many of their numbers were skilled ninja in the art of genjutsu but their main branch held a terrible curse. This curse was known to be the awful side effect of utilizing the power to make the mind believe an illusion so strongly that the body was harmed according to what was perceived by the brain. Only time would tell if the child had to bear such a thing. Still a mere little girl, a deal was struck that changed her life forever. In the interest of fostering relations between nations Yukie was chosen to be sent to Tsuchi no Kuni as a bride to be. When the day of her twentieth birthday arrived the girl would marry a promising member of Iwagakure to consummate the deal made between nations. Eyes filled with tears a scared little girl no more than four years old was sent with all of her belongings to an unfamiliar nation, to live with the strangers that were known as her future spouse's family.
Several years passed during which Yukie came see Iwagakure as her new home while in the process of accepting her fate in life with regards to her eventual marriage. Although women are exempt from the mandatory service requirement, when she was old enough the parents of her betrothed hired a tutor to train her within their family estate after school. Despite the chance of incurring a horrendous burden to Yukie it would be a great shame to the Kurama house's name if their child was unable to please those she was promised to in Tsuchi no Kuni. By day she attended a women's school for the arts that taught such skills as calligraphy, ikebana, and painting. while in the late afternoon she trained with the private tutor into the early night. As part of the tutoring program the young girl occasionally had to train and test with the other children at the shinobi academy to ensure that she was on par with them. Along with the mandatory academy days she was occasionally permitted to sleep over night in the barracks. The intention of such being for her to bond with those also training for military service. In the girl's barracks friends were found quickly, even for a foreigner like herself which aided with helping to cement Iwagakure as her true home. The matters of training the girl were taken very seriously, at time perhaps more so than usual even for Iwagakure. Of course an aptitude for genjutsu was shown as all members of the Kurama clan tended to at least be able to utilize it. Soon it became her strongest school of techniques, and also a personal interest of hers. Of all the ninja arts, genjutsu alone allowed Yukie the most freedom to be creative.
During her third year in tutoring there was a training incident at the academy in which another student was seriously hurt at her hands. During a practice exercise Yukie accidentally awakened the latent power contained within her blood causing an illusion to be made real in the mind of her classmate. No permanent harm was done thanks to the efforts of the medical corp but it was a concerning event to say the least. Tutoring after school was intensified in response to that embarrassment and in addition to that her life was given a very structured and ordered schedule in an attempt to help teach her control and discipline. Those two things would be quite important to the young Yukie now as it was her only defense against the impulses of the baser instincts which regulated that fearsome power. Not an easy task at all as the mental demand placed on the user is so much that it causes the development of a second personality. In many cases that second personality is a monster, a monster which seeks to become the conscious mind in place of the original one. In Yukie's case this monster's name is Reiko. The intensive extra training has kept the harm caused by Reiko to a minimum but she is an ever present risk such that extra precautions were deemed necessary. A sealing formula was thus placed on Yukie's body with a design which was meant to mellow out her emotions, subdue the subconscious, and assist her in maintaining control of her own mind.
In the end she graduated and was placed with other recently appointed genin to a squad under the supervision of a jounin instructor. Though her skills in the other ninja arts were almost non existent much to the chagrin of her sensei, Yukie continued to excel at genjutsu and in conjunction with her hidden ability it became an art capable of killing. It didn't matter if she couldn't shatter stone with her fists or make an earthen dragon because at the end of the day she could literally make her enemies think themselves to death. Eventually their sensei deemed the squad ready to take part in the chuunin exams. It was quite the difficult experience as their squad's skill were tested immensely on both an individual and team basis. By the end Yukie was selected for promotion, something which she eagerly accepted despite knowing she might be leaving her friends behind if they either failed to be selected or turned down the promotion.
Now in her nineteenth year on this planet she is to be wed with the falling leaves. An occasion which for many will surely be a bright spot in these tumultuous times. Yukie however is without passion towards the event as it's something which she had long ago come to accept. It does not matter whether or not she is in love, feels anger, or even sorrow. The wedding will happen and there is nothing to be done about that. Slated for the fall of this year only time will tell what the future holds.
