It had been several days now that their family had joined the troops of the opposing side of Shen, and in those few days the wind balam had been doing the best she could to support the troops who were going to go battle against him. Though most of her tasks seemed a bit menial. Mainly it was gathering supplies and taking inventory of what they had. It was not as exciting as her mate and cub training to become soldiers.
Yes, that fact worried her. It had only been a few weeks since they had been granted to Ej and her before Shen rose to power. Now they were training to fight him for when the time came. What if she lost them in the battles? What then would she do? Yes, this entire ordeal worried the wind mama. Her precious cubs were still so young, but it seemed they were growing up too fast. She paced as her worries began to grow.
Being a mother of a different tribe among this conflict was difficult. Her mind then slipped to the other wind Nah which had joined them. A healer if she could recall. Perhaps talking with her would calm the worries on her mind. And thus she went off to find her.

Helki was surprised that she decided to join in on another tribes conflict. She wasn't a fire balam but a wind; she wasn't mated to a fire balam but a light balam tah. In many ways, she really had no connections or reasons to join the Phoenix army's rebellion. Except one, and that was that she had developed an affinity for plants and healing.
It was in her earlier time upon this world that she realized her deep empath abilities and growing fascination with plants. The study of plants and their uses started out as a hobby. Helki quickly learned that there was a large variety of plants that had medicinal uses. But this wasn't enough, for although there was plants for everything some things needed a more extended knowledge of the body and differences in the tribes physically. It was in all this that she felt compelled to not let this skill and knowledge go to waste and offered her services to the Phoenix side for it was the only side that would accept her despite her being a wind balam.
Today was a cooler but sunny day and Helki had flown to a rather bushy plains area between the light and fire tribe. It was open and gave her a good view of her surroundings for a considerable distance. Luckily, it was only known among the phoenix army that she was their healer, and of course her mate. But that didn't stop her from being cautious. She was on a mission to collected roots and flowers of a particular plant.
She completed her task by dropping the last of her plant collection into her satchel. Then checked it over to make sure she had what she needed and enough. Helki glanced up suddenly from her inventory check. Her ears picked up a sound and she looked up towards the sky, her violet orbs scanning.Word Count: 316
