You're attacked by a group of three small animals -- your choice what sort, but they should be native to the Louisiana area. Their eyes are crazed, and their action are erratic, implying that there's no sense behind their actions. These are wild beasts, and they attack together.
Hit Points: 10 each, for a total of 30, but one dies for each 10 HP damage you do to them. Damage: Each does 2 each time you attack, for a total of 6 to start. This number goes down as you kill them.
If you successfully kill all three animals and reach 500 words, each party involved in the battle gets 10XP and rolls 1d100 to collect loot according to the following:
1-10: You are bitten during the attack, and are turned into an animal! Size is determined by your weapon: agile weapons become small animals, balanced become medium sized, and heavy become large. 11-40: You gain nothing but the victory of having beaten this opponent. 41-90: Moly Flower: a small white flower with a dark root. You're not quite sure what it's for, but decide to keep it. 91-100: Rabid Blood: these creatures have been infected with something that makes their blood potent. It can be vialed and used once to deal an extra 3 damage [after modifiers] on your next successful attack, after which it is consumed and leaves your inventory forever.

Perhaps it was the fact that he had brought back three beasts and only made three cures... Lex felt a bit behind. That there was not enough cures yet to change all the creatures they had brought back, and it seemed that they should at least have that many. That way they would have a chance to change back everyone.
He rocked slightly on his feet, hearing low hisses and frowned. He looked up, watching the sliding of snakes. ... Great, just great. He toss a fist up, blocking the first strike and grunt, as he was struck.

Lex twisted, escaping the worse of the onslaught of the snakes. They still hit him but less then before. He stuck, watching one hit and lay still and clipped another good. Well, that was one less snake trying to bite him.

He shifted, and ignored the first snake, lining up the second to hit it hard and square, sending it flying away and watched it lay out limp on the stones. That was taken care of, time to focus on his final and last attacker. At least if he took care of these, no one else had to worry about them.
Though it was getting worryingly about how many rabid animals there was in the woods. Let along how many possible people had been turned into animals. Had she really done this in just a few months? How strong was Circe? This, this final fight was going to be difficult and he wasn’t sure he wanted to do it without everyone being human. Though these beast seem to hit hard and vicious.

The last snake went down almost too easy, leaving Lex standing victorious and somewhat confused at how they managed all this in so short of time. Perhaps they had leveled up? He snorted at that thought and moved to take care of the snake corpse. Actually, didn’t snake skin have a value? For like wallets and fancy leather jewelry and belts?
He paused, taking a moment to look over the three snakes he had killed. They were sort of pretty and molted in natural tones. And ehh, maybe it wasn’t in the best taste. And he had sort of bruised and ruptured and well some of them were a total, and ugly mess. He didn’t have anything to really skin them with either. Let alone know how to properly skin anything. Because that knowledge had been filed under sort of gross.
“I wonder if they teach a class on how to properly skin things back at the school? As a sort of basic survival nonsense don’t kill yourself while running around all stupid?” Lex questioned the air and plopped on the tree roots, looking over the dead snakes. “None of you are as pretty as the miss burmese python we have back at the inn. I tell you that.” He sighed, wishing faintly for his pack of smokes.
“Next time, I am remembering to bring my smokes and lighter at the very least.”
