I am of the sound mind that as long as one is old enough to die for their country they should be old enough to drink, so I feel the drinking age should be lowered to 18, I mean one is old enough to make every other kind of mature decisions for their life why not drinking decisions as well.
Does anyone disagree?

What about those outside the USA what's your opinion on your drinking ages?

thats how i feel about it. if you can die for your country you should be able to drink in it... drinking is only a problem in this country cause its so taboo for the young.. if we didnt make such a big about them drinking most wouldnt anyway

My family is like a bunch of Dwarves and Demons (Two races of fantasy I seen drink heavily) laid with each other so my uncles were drunk as heck gave me a light wine and never told my parents or me when I was 7 and I wasn't effected at all, but later when I turned 18 and thought I had my first alcoholic drink with friends they told me the whole story when I called them to say it was my birthday and told them the story of my older friends not caring for age and doing that for me for I was hyped to have tried my first wine in juice even if it was 99% juice 1% alcoholic heavy wine, and then I heard that from them and felt horrible as I was way too young in my mind to have alcohol then in my mind.

So I am lost at what age to say as I was mind melted from that one phone call. gonk

By the age of 18 the brain is developed enough that drinking isn't really so much of a health safety issue anymore.
I feel lowering the legal drinking age could even have more positive effects of people doing less binge-drinking in college as it doesn't have the "forbidden fruit" appeal. And even if binge drinking continued to occur, people would feel more open about seeking help should an emergency arise.

To me one of the most awful things about underage drinking is people are less likely to seek help for things such as possible alcohol poisoning or even cases of rape where alcohol consumption is involved. Medical professionals don't care that you're underage. They just want to help you but a lot of young people don't know that because we've drummed it into them that being caught is the worst thing ever.

I'm honestly all for the lowering of the drinking age to 18. 21 year olds really aren't significantly more mature or make better life decisions than 18 year olds. It in no way, makes it more or less likely that they'll drive drunk as the driving age is 18 or below.

(If any of this makes little to no sense or if you want clarification, please quote! I love discussing this topic. I'm just going on no sleep at all for the third time this week and my brain isn't quite operating at fully functional.)
