The night was young and a bit chilly as Venetia made her way home after her muay thai session. She was tired and her muscles ached, but it all felt good. All the exercise helped her relax and eventually sleep at night. During the day, she would feel so high strung and restless. Venetia was ready to passively walk her way home until something caught her attention.
Venetia was somewhat scared, but more surprised than anything. As she walked, she realized she was approaching something quite large and... not human. There had been stories, but Venetia never expected her to see one face to face. Especially not alone and... not knowing how to get rid of these things.
Luckily, Venetia at least had the experience fighting and defending herself. She heard the large shadow creature coming towards her and she got into a stance that she could possibly use to hold it off. However, once it got near, Venetia could feel herself more and more tired. "F*ck... I'm tired enough from earlier... I really didn't need this tonight."
She couldn't help but wonder if she would make it home alive tonight.

Liryn was tracking a youma - or at least the small mauvian tabby bobtail was trying to track a youma given that tracking down auras wasn't something that was exactly a perfect science.
He had actually been on his way to HQ when he'd picked up on the thing's chill chaotic aura, but he'd turned away from his initially planned destination without hesitation because - whilst HQ could wait - the youma couldn't.
There was a point when he'd thought that he'd lost track of the aura, but the youma appeared to be close.
As it turned out it was close - closer than he'd thought - the thing up in front ahead of him...
And it wasn't alone.

Venetia watched as the monster came closer and closer. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed that there was something else with her. She squinted and noticed that it was a cat? Was she imagining it, or did the cat have a star on it's forehead?
She worried that the small feline might get hurt, so Venetia turned away from the youma and ran towards the cat, scooping it up. "I don't know how you got here, kitty, but it's not safe." Venetia heard a roar and soon after, she could feel herself being knocked over to the ground.
"Ugh..." She could feel a scratch on her arm, but Venetia was more worried about the cat. She had tried her best to shield the cat from any pain. "I hope it didn't get you too, kitty."

There was a girl with the youma - or perhaps cornered was the more accurate term, the lack of aura suggesting that the other was a civilian - albeit one that had found herself caught up in the other side of Destiny City.
However whilst the lack of aura had clued Liryn into the fact that the girl was a civilian, he hadn't had time to really process more than that as the thoughts - such as they were - were followed by the feeling of hands scooping him up.
He wriggled slightly with a mew of protest as she shielded him, because he was the one that should be doing the protecting and at least giving the hapless civilian a chance to run - to get away...
And then purplish eyes widened as Liryn caught a fleeting sense of something.
It reminded him of another youma, another civilian - reminded him that the chance he'd taken had turned out fine back then.
And so he wriggled slightly harder in an attempt to turn around before saying very deliberately "No it didn't get me, thank you."

She was on her knees as she let the cat go and felt for where she was scratched. It wasn't that bad and would at least heal on it's own. There was fear that it could do a lot more damage to her though, since this thing got her as she was running away. "There has to be something I can do to get us both away from here..."
Venetia blinked hard when she realized that the cat had respond to her. "Wait... What?" She stared at the cat with the star on its forehead and unintentionally ignored the roaring youma that had already attacked once. "I'm glad it didn't hit you, but... You talk?"
She wasn't sure if she was hit on the head or something, so she used one of her hands to feel for anything on her head. Venetia couldn't feel any additional pain beside the bleeding cut. Her curiosity was an issue though as she heard the youma roar again and snapped back to the matter at hand. "What should we do?

"Thank you" Liryn said, because whilst he was the one who should have been doing the protecting, the civilian was the one who had ended up getting hurt.
"And yes I talk" his purplish eyes glanced towards the youma as he spoke, his small body tensing as the shadowy thing roared.
He looked back at the girl his purplish eyes serious as he continued "And that thing there is something called a youma."
There wasn't much time for more explanation than that - at least not at this particular moment - as the thing was once again starting to move in their direction.
For a moment he looked up at the civilian at her 'what should we do' question, because Liryn was pretty sure that he had felt a flash of something from her - enough to take a chance - and then he launched himself into something that looked very much like a backflip causing two objects to come clattering down.
The first of the two objects looked suspiciously like some sort of smartphone, whilst the second appeared to be some sort of oversized pen and it was the latter of these that Liryn gently butted in the girl's direction.
"This is called a henshin pen and it might give you a bit of a chance against the youma over there" he glanced over at the youma again and noticed that the thing was a lot closer.
"In order to use it you'll need to hold it up and call out Cressida Power, Make-Up with as much feeling as you can muster... "
He paused then added "I can't make you use it" because the decision to do so ultimately rested with her "But if you don't then I would highly suggest that you run."
He padded forward and placed himself firmly in front of the girl, his purplish eyes firmly on the youma - because even if the girl did decide to run Liryn wouldn't be following.
Because there was a chance that the youma could and would hurt someone else if he did.

Venetia really wasn't sure how much more odd this situation could get, but she listened intently to the cat. For a cat to talk, it had to have a good reason, right? "Youma... Okay. Don't know why it sounds like they want to eat people. This one's mean enough anyways..." All she really wanted to do was take the cat and run.
She watched as the cat did a back flip and somehow made a smartphone and some sort of pen appear. "How did you --" Venetia wanted to ask, but at this point, anything really was possible. "Never mind, don't even try." The things that kept happening that she didn't understand was causing her to get more and more flustered. At the cat's next words, Venetia just really wanted to head-desk and forget any of this happened at all.
"Fine." What choice did she really have at this point? The kitty walked up like it was ready to defend her. No way would Venetia let that kitty die. She bit her lip and picked up the henshin pen. Funneling her frustration and slight anger to muster as much 'power' as she could, Venetia cried out. "Cressida Power, Make-Up!"
In an instant, she could feel energy swirling around her. Her clothes were no longer her workout clothes, shoes changing from sneakers to some sort of heels. At this point, was it reasonable to question what in the world was going on? Venetia did feel stronger at this point, but she wasn't Venetia. She was... Cressida?
Cressida looked up and down herself and then back at the cat. "Okay. That happened. Now what?"litian (( Sorry this is super late. Hope you're still interested in finishing this! If not, just tell me <3 ))

Whilst the majority of Liryn's attention was on the approaching youma, he felt the shift as the warm aura of a base rank order senshi suddenly flared into being.
He spared a look in her direction at her question, his purplish eyes noting the elaborate bow on her outfit and the tie that made him think of a turkey as they lifted to meet her eyes.
"Well I suggest we take care of that thing" he said cheerfully. "You're stronger like this and faster too - and you also have magic which might come in handy" because magic generally tended to be helpful in situations like this.
"And I'll help too" because Liryn had a few tricks up his paws that he could resort to if need be.
A thought occurred to him, his feline face scrunching up in a look of concentration for a long moment before Liryn added "By the way if you want to try using your magic then I'd try calling out 'Cressida, Echoed Obligation.'"
And whilst he wouldn't be able to tell Cressida what the magic would do - the words in themselves seemed right to him.ATh e a r t I'm so sorry that this took me so long Heart. I am totally happy to continue with this.

Cressida was trying her best not to lose her cool. The cat was talking, she 'transformed', and there was a thing called youma attacking them. She could handle it. She had to. If not for herself, for the cat that she was pretty sure had other ways of defending itself. It probably wouldn't be able to save them both though.
She watched as the youma came in to attack once more. "What was it again..? Oh yeah..." Liryn had told her what to yell out. Magic. "Cressida, Echoed Obligation!" She stood with her legs apart and her left arm outstretched. Her right hand was on her left elbow, supporting it. In front of her, an energy shield popped up on her left hand. It took the blow that the youma delivered. Cressida could feel herself be pushed back a bit, but also some magic stirred in her. She kicked the youma back and looked over at where her scratch had been.
It was gone.
"I'm not sure what happened, but looks like I healed myself?" Cressida looked back and made sure Liryn was okay. "Stay here." She didn't know what magic he had, but Cressida wanted it safe.
Dashing forward quickly for the youma, Cressida launched an attack. She could feel her body reacting better than it ever had, despite already being an athlete prior to this transformation. The newly powered Senshi kicked again drawing it back. It seemed to want to retreat.
She went back to Liryn. "How do I get rid of this thing completely?"
