A beautiful evening. Shadiya walked along the shores of a small stream with a bounce in her step. She had gone out for the day while learning more about fighting and other trades - more typical ways to earn money rather than dancing her way for keep. It was strange having to actually finally work for once, but the woman was learning. It actually even turned out that she had a slight knack for crafting jewelry - long delicate fingers apparently could link chain easily while other chores were more...disastrous, but at least she was learning how to manage them. Cooking even...well that was something the girl had to flush even more about. It was okay once you took off the charred skin right?
Smiling to herself Shadiya just shook her head, "Either way it'll be okay." The tavern hostess had just laughed at her, but at least when the baked goods came out the woman had acknowledged she could do that much.
"Might not be the best cook in the world, but ya can make soup and bread alright. Sweets too seem ta be edible...if not even possibly a bit good. You'll make a man's wife yet, girl."
The praise had been enough to make the dancer almost float as she left the place for the evening. She was just thankful that her small chores and work with the hostess had allowed for some coin in her purse and a room. Traveling without dance had worried her, but it seemed that she was doing alright. "A man's wife even." She laughed at the teasing before a thought made her own cheeks flush. Would she ever be...that man's wife? Shaking her head, Shadiya raised her hands to her cheeks. Oh stop it! She was being so silly lately...but it was nice to just imagine.
Sighing, the Oban stuck out a foot towards the stream waters before removing some clothing and slipping in. It was a deserted place so surely a small bath with only the barest requirements of wear was going to be okay. What if Dexurn came back early and was sent looking for her? Shadiya shook her head. With the way the Matori was focused on training...she doubted it. That decided the woman stretched out her hands and cupping water began to splash her bare skin...

It certainly was a beautiful evening. Dexurn walked along another part of the stream, staring at something in his hand while his feet cooled in the water after a particularly rough bit of training. On its own, the item wasn't anything special to him. However, after he put some words with it... he hoped it would turn out to be a very special something.
Clenching a fist around the item, Dex sighed deeply and stuck it into a pocket. That would come later though. If he tried thinking too hard on it again, he would give himself a migraine! It wasn't something he would have to deal with until later. Maybe even tomorrow... Yeah. Wait until tomorrow. He didn't want to be limping around when he used the trinket!
It was one of the few times he'd been injured enough that his mentor had made him leave and rest. Dex looked down at his wrapped ankle and snorted. 'This is sure to impress her," he said sourly to himself. At least he should clean up so that he didn't look like he'd rolled down a hill. Further down, he noticed someone else splashing around. Still adjusting to Shade's new look, it didn't occur to him that the raven haired person down the way might be her. Besides, she was too far away to see any features clearly.
Respectfully avoiding looking in that direction, Dex stripped down to his shorts to get himself cleaned up, trying to not think to much on the critical task ahead of him.

Oooh, the water felt so cool and fresh against her skin. Shadiya let out a soft moan as she wiggled her toes in the cool sands. After a full day of being on her feet this felt rather nice. A small smile decorated her features as she finished rinsing off her legs."Mmm." The Oban trailed a finger down the smooth skin before pulling her hand back to trail through her loose hair. It was damp from being underwater, but still was strange to see how the loose waves only fell gently past her shoulders rather than to her waist. Shadiya pursed her lips in protest before shaking her head - this was fine.
What wasn't fine was the lack of dancing in her life. Even though she practiced the art of dancing knives the girl just missed simple dancing. Surely...the thought was tempting. Who out here would see her? Smirking, the dancer left her outer clothing on the rocks before beginning to jump from place to place. What could be more fun than trying not to slip up in water? Not like she was doing anything spectacular - just a few twirls here and there as she splashed through the waters.
Of course her heart did freeze in her chest as she finally noticed that her dancing had drifted her towards another - she was not alone. Breath hitching in her throat Shadiya nearly turned to run away before realizing that the figure looked familiar. Immediately a sigh of relief left her as she simply waved awkwardly to Dexurn. What was he doing...here? Of course the dancer also tended to forget in her relief that she was mostly naked and what little she did have on was soaking wet and clinging to her body...

If only the water were a little deeper here. A swim would have been so nice~
Louder splashing made Dex look over curiously. Dancing? Shade! He pushed the hair back from his face, cheeks ablaze already. She remained the most beautiful and graceful thing... When she noticed him, he couldn't help looking away guiltily. She thought she'd been alone, and there he was gawking at her. He noticed her pause though, so he looked back up at the awkward wave he received. He started to smile back, but that was when he finally noticed her skimpy garments. He was standing around in just his shorts as well!! "I'm sorry!" he squeaked out, spinning away quickly to avert his eyes. Gods, she was beautiful...

"Dexurn?" After rushing towards him, Shadiya pursed her lips in confusion at his reaction. Had he done something wrong? Was he hiding something? Did he not recognize her? A million questions seemingly flickered through the girl's mind before the true realization sank in - courtesy of the wind that swept through and sent a chill down her spin. Why was she cold again? Oh...ooooooh. Her cheeks immediately flushing as she looked between the two of them the girl slipped down from a rock to try and turn sideways with her arms crossed.
"It's uh...okay." She replied lightly before glancing over her shoulder. Her gaze taking a bit longer as she made her way up from his stomach towards his face. Oh my. "Did...training...end early? I mean - unless you do water fighting now?" She bit the inside of her cheek as she stood there in the silence. Welp, she had hoped to see him early tonight. Just hadn't planned on encountering him like this! Though dammit it was hard not to keep peeking towards him. Her mind flashed to imagining what it would be like to run a hand down that sculpted body...to see how the training had worked out so well for him. Flushing to the point that she felt her ears would fly off the girl forced a laugh, "This wind is a bit chilly out here, so perhaps I should uh...get out soon."
Of course in her attempt to turn aside the girl only ended up slipping on a rock covered with wet moss....

Surely the cool water was steaming off his hot face by now! The image of Shade had been brief, but had naturally burned into his mind. Ugh, how could he have been so... It was okay? Still blushing warmly, he slowly let his head lift to peek over. Well.. she was covered.... Just not as much as usual. This could be a dancing outfit!
Sighing slowly, he raised a big hand to rub bashfully at his neck. "It.. did for me." With a glance at his ankle, he shook his head with irritation. Darned ankle had started more trouble than he'd initially thought. It was made even worse when Shadiya spun around and slid! He lunged forward, his ankle tweaking from the sudden move. Falling as well, he reached to yank Shade against his chest, kicking with his good foot against the ground so that they would land with him underneath to protect Shade from the impact. The water cushioned his own impact, making his recuperation quick. He sat up sharply, one hand holding Shade's cheek. "Are you okay?"

"For you?" Shadiya's frown creased her forehead as she started to follow his gaze down towards his ankle. Oh, no! Had he gotten hurt? Of course that trail down had only spurred her imagination to run even more wild which helped for her failed attempt to turn away. The next thing the dancer knew Dexurn's arms were around her and they were falling. The splash! made her feel some relief before their close proximity made her face flush. She could only at first gently nod her head -rubbing her cheek in his hand- before gathering her thoughts.
But her concern came first before thinking about such things! What if he had gotten hurt? She was ashamed for grabbing onto him so instinctively...it was her fault he had fallen after all. "I'm...alright. What about you?" Twisting a bit so that she straddled him, Shadiya reached her arms around his sides. That way she could trail her fingers up and down his back -innocently checking for any cuts or blood without realizing the full extent of her position and movements. "Any pain? I don't feel any blood so you didn't open your back on any rocks..." She was thankful that the stream bottom here was smoother and less jagged than others. Still, she reached up one hand to touch his cheek and peered closely while still having her legs wrapped around him. "You can see okay too? Dizzy maybe?" Her crimson gaze stared intently into his crimson one as she continued playing a bit of doctor while the stream gently brushed around them.

Seeing Shade in one piece, Dex sighed with relief. He hated seeing that beautiful face in pain... He shifted a little more to keep his strained ankle out from underneath, only to have his entire body freeze up as Shade positioned herself to check him over. Cheeks turning dark violet, he looked at her with wide eyes.
Despite their time together, despite all they had been through, he still felt as bashful as a teenage boy around a pretty girl.
All at once, his frozen limbs heated up, body turning to jelly. "Y-y-yeah... I'm fine." he managed finally, the heat spreading throughout his body. "I.. can see fine..." He could clearly see how beautiful she was. How bright her eyes were. How smooth her skin was. How sweet her mouth was. "I can.. see.." Leaning forward impulsively, he caught her lips for himself. Just as quickly though, he yanked his head back sharply, cheeks hot. "I..."

"You sure? What about your ankle? I thought it was wrapped..." Shadiya pursed her lips in a frown, "And you seem awfully flushed..." Her own voice trailed off as she noticed how intently he was staring at her face. Then just as suddenly the kiss made her own cheeks flush even more so. Her features softening in surprise the woman just smiled towards him, "Hmm...?" She replied quietly before raising her own hands to catch his head before he fully retreated so that she could grab him back in a lingering kiss of her own, "I'm sorry I missed what you were trying to say."
Her arms lowered from his face so that she could wrap her arms around his shoulders instead, "I must be light headed from the fall." Teased Shadiya quietly before leaning against him in a hug. Her stomach was so warm and full of butterflies it may have been true - maybe standing up would make her fall over with how tipsy those kisses made her feel!

Heart thudding in his chest, Dex felt like melting further as his face was pulled back close. Maybe the water would just wash him away...? She missed what he'd been about to say? "I.. don't remember," he replied thickly. What had he been about to say? ...Nope. No idea.
Having Shade hugging him so closely made his stomach flutter. She felt so perfect right there. Never mind how comfortable she seemed to be with their situation. "We.. can sit here.. until you feel better." Gulping down his nerves, he wrapped his arms around her to encourage her to stay close. She was so warm and smooth~
..Would tomorrow really be better than today? Would later tonight really be better than right now? His whole body was responding to the surprisingly intimate moment. "Shade... You know I love you.. right?' he asked slowly, making sure the words came out properly. He knew himself enough that if he just spoke willy-nilly, it would end up a garbled mess.

"Aww," Shadiya's face turned into a pout with wide eyes, "But...it seemed like you wanted to say something to me." She trailed her hands down his back again as she spoke. There was just something nice about being able to touch Dexurn and hold him close. Having been almost taken from him permanently had scared the girl into realizing exactly how much she never wanted to leave this man. Never ever. She smiled at his arms wrapped tightly around her almost as if in confirmation of her flickering thoughts.
It made her want to ask him a question, but her own words became lodged in her throat as she stared at his face closely. "Love me?" She replied quietly with a light flush on her face, "I...yes." She nodded her head slowly before laying her head against his shoulder again, "Of course...and I love you as well." She finally whispered the words while her heart raced in her chest. This moment - was it a dream? Out of all the times they had been alone together and even those when they had managed to rest and relax this one felt like the most intimate of them all somehow. Just the thought of how tightly wrapped around him she was made the dancer's body shiver even as a warmth continued to burn slowly in her stomach. Before a part of her always gave in to fleeing because she was afraid of messing up what could happen next, but this time she stayed. It was too perfect a moment and Shadiya wished it could linger even longer, especially as his confession rang through her mind.

She loved him.... Gods. Every time Shade said those words, Dex felt like he was dreaming. How could Shade love him? She was of noble blood, and he used to be a slave. She was graceful, and he was not quite so graceful. She was Oban, and he was Matorian. It made no sense. Yet.. here they were. There she was. Just sitting there in his arms...
"I.. never knew what it was to really.. want something for myself.. before meeting you." Cheeks flushed, he shook his head. "I don't mean I wanted you right away. I mean, not that I didn't- but I didn't- I mean-" Shaking his head again, he huffed and reached into his pocket. "I mean, I found a new life, thanks to you. I.." He wanted to say so much... Shade meant so many things to him... "I want you to marry me!" Smooth. "I mean- will you! Will you marry me?" Hand shaking, he didn't bother trying to hold the ring in a fancy manner. The silver ring with a small blue stone sat in the middle of his palm as he held it in front of Shade's face. It was nothing fancy, considering their generally minimal funds, but he'd saved what he could for it. Hopefully, it would be enough for her...

Shadiya smiled against Dexurn's shoulder. What was he trying to say? He definitely seemed to be stumbling over his words - but it was sweet and she was far from offended. In fact, she was extremely touched by his words? She knew that he loved her, but for the Matori to find her so important and to even claim that she helped him find a new life...well it was something special. Shadiya felt herself holding her breath as he continued. He was trying to get to something...what did he want to ask her?
Her gaze widened in surprise as the words finally escaped his lips, "You...want what?" She gasped pulling back from him so that she could study his face. A hand went to her lips as she stared back at the Matori while tears began to flow from her crimson gaze, "You...Dexurn....you..." She felt her heart rushing out through her chest while she slowly lowered her gaze to glance at the object he had raised for her to view. A ring? He had planned on this? For how long?! Marriage...he even said marry! Oh gods! Shadiya wanted to squee like a young child getting the best present ever, but instead tears just came out of her eyes as she let out a rare sob, "De-Dexurn!" The crying continued as she burrowed her face against his neck.
It was beautiful - this whole scene was gorgeous. How had awkward turned into something so special? But then again wasn't that a good symbol of their whole relationship? They had started out as strangers pushed together with a similar goal and now...they found themselves just pushed together simply because they couldn't imagine a life without each other. And she was absolutely delighted with that just as she was with this...
But the surprise was what had her crying, "You really want me to stay with you and be....your wife?" She finally managed as she slowed her breathing down, "I mean...this isn't a dream, right?" Shadiya took a deep breath before leaning back and wiping her eyes with the backs of her hands, "I would love for nothing more than to be tied to you forever, Dexurn. So yes!"

His whole body began to tremble, waiting for his request to sink in. Crying... Rather than panic for once, Dex waited to see what would happen. ..Not that he could move if he wanted to. He was frozen in place. She hugged against him, hand with the ring turning into a fist again protectively while his other arm remained hooked around that lean body.
Wife. Wife... Wife..? Wife!! "Yes!" he gasped out, sighing heavily. "I do want that." Of course he did! Absolutely! Wife!
She... wanted the same... Biting his lip, he took her hand and tried to slip the ring onto a finger. It was a little large and only fit snugly on Shade's middle finger. Shade seemed so happy. So joyful. He couldn't help it as he took Shade's face gently with his hands. However, his kiss was firm and eager, filled with love and passion.

Flushing with emotions, Shadiya closed her hand firmly as the ring as slid on her finger. The cool metal could be felt on her palm while the stone felt nice resting on top of the bare skin. It was proof that this was real and in the morning she would look for the prized piece just to make sure that yes - this was truly happening.
Leaning into the kiss, Shadiya reached her hands up so that she could move her fingers through Dexurn's hair. It was fine to let loose, right? She let out a soft moan from her lips in appreciation at the kiss before managing to slip in one light tease, "I suppose if this was to happen...I should have gotten kidnapped earlier." A smile was on her lips as she pressed her lips firmly back against Dexurn and leaned against him to keep going with the kiss.
What she almost had forgotten, however, was that they were in the middle of a stream. One foot slipped as she leaned into him and continued with another kiss, but as she did more water rolled over the leg and she couldn't help but to shiver. Whether it was from the water or the new sensations all this kissing was giving her the dancer didn't know. But it was enough to make her finally - despite her eagerness to continue with things - suggest, "Perhaps we should uh...get out of this mess first?" She hugged him tightly as she found her footing again and wrapped her legs firmly back around him, "Though it'll be hard to move....I think."
