Profile: Calida is a spirited young troll that comes from the science city of civisect. The city in question was picked by her and her lusus for their hive placement because Mami tends to catch fire very easily and having a water source nearby made it easier to put out any fires that her lusus may inadvertently cause. To further add safety to the other hives, Calida decided to live on the outskirts of the city in a hive specially made to house the combustable bird. Unfortunately for them, it was much too close to the site chosen for the space tower and her hive was destroyed when the tower collapsed.
in her short time being alive, Calida has become no stranger to loss. Her hive, valuables and even her arms were lost in a tragedy that claimed Civisect's space tower. The only things that kept her from losing her life, was a local tealblood who helped her out of the rubble and her awakened pyrokinesis. This drastic loss has left her in a state of panic and anxiety over her standing in the world and how simple it is to just end her life. Because of her brush with death, she fears that she will one day be forgotten and makes it a point to make memories or at least be memorable in some way This has lead to a need for recognition, power and prestige, She wants everyone to know her name and never forget it. This is her key motivation to almost anything and everything she does. Another effect of the trauma from the tower is that she does not like being touched or surprised, it tends to leave her frozen in a state of fear or a reflexive attack mode. She would admit to the reflexes but would never admit to her state of fear since that would make her memorable for the wrong thing, at least in her mind that's how it works.
Her losses also left her with less funds than most in her caste and she had to relocate to a cheaper, more manageable hive on a hivestem. Couple this with her need to pay for prosthetics and the upkeep that goes with the prosthetics, it leaves her with a lot less of what most trolls of her status would have while making her work harder for what she does have. Knowing the spectrum and feeling a bit entitled to what she doesn't have creates a great deal of envy towards trolls who have more and better things than her. To prove her worth well as cover costs, she has decided to perfect her baking ability in her free time and sell those baked goods to any and all trolls she can reach. She believes that she will rise from the ashes as her lusus would.
With this in mind, Calida is a firm believer in troll exceptionalism and has a somewhat paradoxical view of the hemospectrum. She believes that trolls have the ability to be greater than great and this leads her to disapprove greatly of trolls who give up easily or are servile in nature towards their role and don't live up to their potential. She detests stereotypes and believes the system puts a block on troll potential and yet, she feels entitled to what the hemospectrum awards her and her position as better than just scum on everyone's shoes, though she's not content with that either. She will do her best to try and inspire a troll to not give up but she has a short temper and is not willing to put effort into a troll that doesn't want or need help when she has better things to be doing. She persuades herself that this is not giving up, but is in fact respecting a troll's individual choice and that these trolls can face their consequences themselves. She doesn't like picking up after others, but she loves seeing them succeed.
Calida enjoys seeing troll aesthetic, she is fascinated by rugged scars and even finds them charming. She likes mutations, deformities and whacky diseases that catch her attention, but she is also awestruck by trolls with no such obvious things. She is often inspired by these trolls to add or subtract certain traits from each project. Her current hobbies coincide with what she does to maintain herself in civisect, she has taken an interest in making her own clothes, mechanics and baking in order to cut costs of buying and paying for things. All of which she has only slightly more than a child's understanding, but she is sure in herself and that through practice she'll get better. She believes in herself so much and has so much pride, that she doesn't acknowledge her flaws, even if they are glaring at her or are brought up to her face.

Creative - Calida is intensely creative and uses it to find new, better and more fantastic ways to make her life easier and prettier. It creates a diversity in ideas she can try until she eventually finds one that works. This also gives her a multitude of opportunities and paths to try again, no matter how many times she fails.

Optimistic - Calida believes that anything is possible with the right motivation and hard work. This fuels her determination and motivates her to work hard on the projects she sets her mind to, because she believes that everything she does and everyone she meets will end up the best she goes for it without a second thought it also gives her the courage to try again when she's down or she makes a mistake.

Observant Calida is very good at picking up on the body language of a troll as well as any physical traits they may have. Though she doesn't use her observations as a means of survival, she does use it to determine things about a troll, such as whether or not they will make a good customer, their flaws and strengths or just that they have really cool scars. This gives her an upper hand as an entrepreneur and fuels her creativity.
Flaws:

Workaholic- She will never be satisfied with what she has and will work herself to the bone to acquire the things that she wants. This blinds her to what else she could have or that she could be happy without her desires that force her to work herself harder than she needs to. She needs to be reminded by her lusus that working too hard is bad for you.

Impulsive - She often says and does the first thing on the top of her head and doesn't always think her plans through. This leads to her making choices that she could regret later or spouting an opinion and thought off the top of her head that rubs someone the wrong way.

Opinionated - Her judgements, just like her plans, are often based on first impressions and snap decisions. Once she has made a judgement about something or someone, she will hold to it even if that philosophy is terrible in the long run. This leads to her holding onto destructive habits and ideals without relinquishing them.

Appearance:
Calida has short, wavy hair, adorned with green hairspikes and tipped in a very light blue, She has thick eyebrows and very calm eyes, with elegant, long lashes. She has two very long canines that reach down half way to her chin. She has a very faint blotchy flush to her face.
She often wears brightly colored clothes, contrary to the norm and has two, plain metal prosthetic arms. She wears dark stockings and black dress shoes.
Home: On the beaches of civisect city in a hivestem, the hiveblock is not big enough to fit Calida's lusus inside, so her lusus tends to roost on top of her block. The inside is very plain with a minimalistic style. There are two levels to her hive, the bottom level has her place to eat, bathe and cook/bake while upstairs she keeps her personal items, like her electronics and recoupracoon.
Lusus: Mami is a great, white phoenix that calls Calida her own. She is huge in size, probably big enough to comfortably carry several small children, maybe 2 1/2 teens or one large adult on her back. Though, she is a proud creature and only ever allows Calida to ride her back.
Mami is never too far behind, always there to keep Calida from acting too rashly towards others and reminding her to treat all trolls with some amount of respect, even trolls that may attack her deserve an amount of respect. Mami provides a logical argument toward's Calida's flights of fancy and a calm temperament to Calida's hotheaded antics. Calida both respects and loves her lusus, and takes great joy in flying with her lusus from place to place. With Calida's newfound control over fire, this has become a more common occurrence since she can easily manipulate flames of any broken or lost feathers, to keep herself from catching fire and burning.
She is fiercely protective of Calida and will not allow harm to befall her child, under any circumstances. Mami began sticking closer to Calida and became slightly more strict in what Calida does. She has rules she expects to be followed. If her rules aren't followed, she will punish Calida however not in any super harsh way like beatings. But she will take away privileges, such as TV, videogame or hobby privileges. Calida is generally very obedient since Mami has a tendency to lose the objects she has grounded Calida from, which is usually the worst thing for the greedy Calida.
Calida's lusus is very proud of her charge and if given the ability would brag endlessly about how creative, smart and talented her tiny troll is. When she can, she likes to nest with her charge and have Calida read books to her. She believes that a gentle, loving but firm parenting style is best and that trolls need constant supervision or they get into trouble. By doing this, she believes she will build a confident and competent troll with a sense of discipline.
Power: Calida produces a natural green flame that prompts the growth of new cells to grow and heal wounds. Support type B.
