Being the good-hearted fellow he is, Rio is on good terms with most of his fellow villagers.
History
Childhood
Rio grew up outside of the village, with his parents. Both parents weren’t necessarily missing-nin but they had gypsy souls. They traveled around, exploring the world and teaching Rio many different things. His father was a master of the yoton chakra and his mother a master of taijutsu. They traveled for quite some time, but eventually settling down in Kirigakure after Rio’s father grew ill.
Teenage Years
Due to the nature of his family, Rio wasn’t actually entered into the academy until the age of fourteen, but they quickly let him out, seeing that he had mastered beyond the necessary requirements. He was then placed on a squad with two other genin, Maro and Yara. They completed quite a few missions together but eventually each became their own chuunin with a squad of academy students. Maro fell out of touch with the two, but Rio and Yara discovered something blossoming fairly soon. By the age of 19, they were married and taking care of their own genin squads.
Adulthood and Rise to Jounin
Rio and Yara took some time off from their squads after the wedding, hoping to follow Rio’s parents’ footsteps. However they returned to the village after being gone only a short time. The corruption had blocked off most of what they wanted to explore and Yara was with child. After getting a home picked out Rio decided it was finally time to take the Jounin test. He was tasked with an important mission that he would be squad leader of, to show his skills in command. They went out to capture a ninja who had stolen some secrets of the village. They came back quickly with his head, not much of a challenge at all. However the Mizukage had some news for Rio. Yara passed during childbirth and the baby was a stillborn. Devastated, Rio spun into a deadly spiral of alcoholism. He’s only recently been bringing himself out of that in order to help protect his village.

Rio has a set of arm and shin guards crafted specifically for him. They allow him to channel his yoton chakra through them for uses with his melting mountain style without his taking damage. Because they can use any chakra, he is able to change up the style if he would need to.
