It was raining, or at least it had been. Amatsu could still feel the occasional drop hit him, although he had been fully in the rain and was pretty well drenched at the moment. Where was his umbrella you asked, that he was this drenched? Well it was over by a nearby tree, or at least that’s where he was pretty sure it landed when he had tossed it. Oh he was going to give Yami a heart attack. His dad biggest rule was that after school he went straight to the portal where some one could pick him and his siblings up. However after he had heard the pitiful little mewling he couldn’t in good conscious leave whatever was making that pitiful sound. They sounded really lonely and it was wet and they had to be hungry. At first he had waited to see if there was a momma cat, and each time he had recess and break he had ran back to check on them. There had still been no mamma cat. So he had taken out his flashlight from his keys and had noticed the mewling was coming from a box. Who shoved a box under a building? This was… was practically animal cruelty. Only problem was Amatsu’s wings. They kept getting caught and he kept banging them into things…. Wings where really sensitive things. “Just hold on. I’ll rescue you I swear” Amatsu called out not paying attention to how he must look to any one walking by since his butt was kind of in the air and his tail was moving in an agitated manner.

Lapis hadn't been as unfortunate as others. She was mostly dry, having spotted the clouds towards the end of her classes and waited patiently by the front door of the academy as the sky released it's brief anger of rain and wind. She had occupied herself with her phone, sending a quick text to her zaza that she'd be late home before toying with digital cats and reading through various creepypasta's. When the rain had stopped the small child left, tugging up her hoodie until her head was covered.
Normally, she didn't care to stop on her way home. She didn't have any friends, which was fine, so she never really had a reason to talk to others. Willow had decided to stay at the academy even before she was attending school, so rarely he'd walk her home. The way home was a quiet one, but she liked that.
So, why did she stop? It wasn't the strange hybrid wiggling about under a building, really. No, it was the squealing she heard. Kittens. No doubt that child was looking for them. She stopped, standing still as she watched the display. Ah. Their wings were getting in the way.
"Do you need help?" She questioned, voice soft and monotone, not quite lifting her words into a question.

Amatsu had almost got it. His little claws had brushed he edge of the box this time. Only there was a voice, a voice belonging to a nightmare or a daydream. He was soo startled that he jumped a bit and of course banged his head on the top of the little crawl space he was in. Oh hat had hurt. He wiggled back out from underneath the building and clutched his head for a few moments before replaying what they had said. Looking up he was met with another hybrid like him. Only their geist blood was more noticeable than his and he had Chimera-y parts. He rubbed the top of his head again for good measure now that the throbbing was going down some. “Help would be absolutely lovely. I’ve been watching the kittens all day but no one came for them and I know they have to be hungry and cold. I just… couldn’t get to them” Amatsu admitted glad to have help. He didn’t care if he wasn’t the one to get them, it just mattered that he got them from underneath he building.

Lapis flicked her gaze towards the crawl space. She really didn't want to go in there, honestly. She read enough stories to know that was a bad idea, but also she wasn't about to sit there and let tiny kittens mewl in the cold rain, either. Her tendrils fluttered, head cocking to the side before, with a final decisive internal sigh, she nodded.
"I can reach them." She admitted. She was petite and lacked wings, she absolutely could do it. Her clothes would get wet, for sure, but Lapis wouldn't mind in the end. A good deed would be done and, really, her zaza had always taught her to help those around her.

“I think I got most of the spider webs and things out earlier.” Amatsu admitted trying to dust some of the debris that had fallen on him while wiggling underneath there. The mud was a lost cause since he’d need pretty much a bath. Oh Yami was definitely going to give him looks, luckily tempo wouldn’t be too mad when she did the laundry. “Thank you again. I just have been watching them all day and they just sound so pitiful that I want to make sure they’re okay or help them be okay…if that makes sense” he ringed his hands together or well more his paws together, getting a bit nervous after all not many people where willing to crawl under a building into a dark space they didn’t know. Oh he hoped that he wasn't being inconveniencing.

She nodded at the thanks, stripping her hoodie off and delicately placing it on a nearby large rock. She didn't really care if her t-shirt got muddy, but she quite liked her hoodie, honestly. Casting a glance at Amatsu, she pulled her tail up, padding over to the crawl space and examining it.
It wasn't too bad, she could do this. The kittens mewling also egged her on. Releasing her tail, the tiny child wiggled into the crawl space, eyes squinting through the darkness. Her tendrils didn't add much light, but she could hear the kittens. She hesitated before vanishing completely into the crawlspace, consumed by the darkness. She was gone for quite a bit, hands struggling to find anything but cobwebs, dirt, and trash. Finally, the sound of a box shuffling could be heard, and Lapis emerged from the crawlspace, covered in mud. She coughed as she slipped free, tugging the box free and exposing four kittens inside.

"Found them." She muttered, bending over to properly examine the wee kittens.

Amatsu watched as they wiggled under the crawl space and sat by the entrance just in case any help was needed. However as time passed he started getting a bit worried. What if there was something down there that he hadn’t seen and it was causing the other hybrid trouble. What if they got hurt because he hadn’t seen something? It would be his fault because he was the one that had asked for help. However they weren’t calling for help so Amatsu wanted to believe they were still absorbed into rescuing the box. He believed they could do it. Eventually he caught the sound of a box shuffling and the hybrid popped out moments later with the kitties. A bright happy smile crossed Amatsu’s features as he peered down into the box looking at the tiny kittens inside. They were so small and wet, and kind of pitiful looking. Not to mention kind of hungry looking. He did still have his sandwich as he had been too worried during lunch to eat it but they looked a bit young to be eating meat. Ahhhh… now that they had them what to do… “Should we get milk? Ah….” Amatsu trailed off nervously he hadn’t meant to say that the other hybrid would still stick around now that the kittens had been rescued. They might have had to been somewhere after all. "Or find professor Sirius?" he added in a tiny small voice.

She didn't seem fazed by his tiny response, or seemingly worried demeanor. Lapis reached out, rubbing the cheek of a kitten before standing up and traveling to her hoodie. She lifted it, gently setting it over the kittens so they wouldn't get wet.
"We can take them to my place. My zaza would know what to do." She paused, gaze slowly lifting to view the other boy. "Do you have time to come with me?" She didn't mind taking the kittens by herself, but she assumed he wanted to be in their lives.

No he didnt need to be anywhere really. Well there was the fact that Yami wouldn’t be happy that he followed a stranger home. His dad was always slightly paranoid like that and Uncle Vanna always backed him up saying to be careful, but his companion had to be a good person right? They had rescued the vesperkitties. It didnt help that amatsu had spent all day worried about the kitties either. He wanted to make sure that they were going to be okay. So he pulled out his phone to type a message to Yami that he was going to be super late and was going home with a friend. Yeah he was definitely going to get into trouble but… he needed to see this out…. “I definitely have time. I already texted my dad so he knows I’m not going to be home right away” Amatsu answered and made a note to add more details like his companion’s address when we got there. “I’m Amatsu by the way”

Lapis bent over, struggling to pick the box up. Being so petite made it an issue, but she shifted them into her arms. Okay. Amatsu. Got it. She casted a glance his way, nodding very faintly.
"I'm Lapis." She offered, resting her chin on the edge of the box and using a knee to shimmy them back up. Now, she just hoped Willow wouldn't try and steal the kittens. Did Hayden like pets? Addie did, but she never bothered to ask Hayden. Huh. Nasaiki Can end here or you can do one more post!
