This is not a monster fight but a spar with any PC that has been turned into an animal. We suggest two Chosen per turned PC!
Turned PCs do damage based on their weapon weight. This means that base damage and bonuses match the standard weapons:
Balanced weapons, or weapons of a middling/average weight, do a base of 6 damage. Agile weapons, or weapons that are small and light, do a base of 4 damage but give +1 to your hit roll. Heavy weapons, or weapons that are big and heavy, do a base of 10 damage but give -1 to your hit roll.
However, in this case, PCs always attack first. Instead of rolling init, the class of your weapon is used to determine HP.
Turned PCs with Ranged weapons have 60HP. Turned PCs with Melee weapons have 70HP. Turned PCs with Defensive weapons have 80HP.
Once Turned PCs are brought below 5HP, they can OOC choose to submit to capture -- aka, taken back to camp and kept safe until a solution to the problem can be found -- or run away, at which point they escape the thread and recover all HP for their next battle. Either way, all parties who participate in the thread get standard Spar XP: 10XP for completing the spar, and an additional 10XP if they hit 800 words.
Until PCs have been captured, they cannot participate in any kind of thread except this one. After capture, they can do PRPs or battles with other players, but still cannot speak.

It was probably unnerving for a newly-transformed Misha to be chased, even if her pursuers were her friends. Brian looked rather larger, though, for the fact that he had Beth riding on his back.
Brian had no idea how to track animals. He had been forced to simply run and keep an eye on his target. How many people had turned into animals? Were they all in danger? There was no time to think about what-ifs. They just had to handle the immediate situation, and then they could worry about the long-term.
For now, they had to catch a cat.
He hadn't been aware at first that Beth was coming after them, but then of course she was. He had seen them bonding during the Battle of the Birds and there was very little chance that that had been the last time they had seen each other. He regarded Beth but couldn't slow, and she was racing through the wilderness in heels.
That became increasingly apparent when he heard her fall.
As it was now, Brian was chasing his altered friend with another on his back. He had crouched to let Beth crawl onto him and cling. It made for a slower pace, but two heads were better than one. He had practice with this, though, and not every soldier was as light as a petite Hera Chosen.
"Misha, please!" Did she even understand English any more? He tried to regulate his breathing as he continued after her. 254

Beth was immensely grateful for Brian's assistance. In her recklessness, she hadn't thought about the ramifications of running into the trees with her expensive, Italian heels. The first time she tripped, spattering mud over her right side, Brian had stopped and offered his back to help her.
The thrill she felt at him carrying her was dampened by the cold terror that had settled behind her breastbone. The thought of Misha, alone and scared, spurred her onward. She cast her eyes around, trying to catch a glimpse of gold fur anywhere. "Misha? Misha, it's Beth and Brian! Please come out! We're really worried." Though her voice did not project as far as Brian's, she hoped she sounded sweet and inviting enough to entice their transformed friend to stop hiding, or even give an indication of her location.
Character Name:Beth Almasy Brief description of character: A sweet but skittish beauty who's lived in the lap of luxury her whole life, Beth doesn't quite know what she's doing. She's always willing to support and cheer on her friends, mostly so she doesn't actually have to lift a finger.
However sweet Beth's voice was or desperate the note in Brian's, the changed Misha did not seem to give one plugged nickel as she sped through the dim woods, weaving around trees and slipping between shadows. Her new form proved deliciously nimble and sure-footed. It took but a thought to have her body react neatly to a change in direction and her tiny paws padded silently. She felt the heat in the air and smelled new smells and heard things she had never heard before...
And, somewhere in her head, the old Misha cried and cursed and tried to bring herself back under control.
Finally, one of the shouts caught her attention and Misha wheeled to face her pursuers. She snarled, teeth glinting in the dim light of the moon. The fear still clear in her eyes, she lashed out the moment Brian and Beth came into range.
It seemed as if the Misha they both knew had taken a bit of a mental vacation. Brian had hope that she was still in there somewhere considering the news that Arthur the Raccoon had apparently written his own name. Maybe they could reason with her. Maybe she just needed some time.
When Misha the Cat came flying at him and raked him with her claws, he brought up a foot to defend himself. He didn't have any hands at the moment. He wobbled a bit, coupled with a sick sensation that he had just kicked Misha in the chest.
"Beth, I think I'm gonna need you down here!" Screw her shoes, they needed to save Misha! He crouched briefly to let Beth off, shielding his face with his free arm lest Misha the Cat should decide to attack again. 397

At first Beth clung to Brian as she felt him lift a leg and their balance shifted. Once it was clear that he was being hampered by her weight, she obligingly slid off Brian's back as he crouched, currently more concerned about her friends than the state of her dirty clothing. "Misha, honey," she said, taking a lead from her friend's constant pet names, "please don't do this. Try to remember us!"
But her cries seemed to fall flat as Misha swiped out and caught Brian's leg. Reluctantly, she pulled her whip from her coat pocket. The trench and the trees did not allow her full range of motion, and she was secretly glad for it. Still, she lashed out with her whip, wincing as it broke over the cat's back.

Whether it was the whip crack or the words, Misha retreated a few steps and shook her head. It was like thinking through a fog. Everything felt strange up there in her head. She blinked at the two Chosen facing her.
Beth? Brian? What was going on here? Why were they attacking her? They never would attack her! They were her friends.
Still the pain and confusion drove her onwards and she padded forward to take a hesitant swipe at Beth's foot with her paw. It barely brushed the other woman and most of her felt very grateful even as she backed up again. Her fur rippled, on edge, and her eyes shone.

Brian gave a short groan of frustration when Misha came back to swipe at him. It was less for the fact that she had gotten him again so much as it was that she had seemed, just for a moment, to be coming back. The look in her eyes had been almost human, and then it snapped right out of her gaze.
At least he had his emblem. He had a feeling that these claws would hurt a non-Chosen quite a bit more. He kicked his foot again, but only managed to kick Misha back a few inches. He was privately glad for that, although if it kept going like this they might have to get more stern.
"I don't know if she can hear us, Beth," he admitted, "but if they convinced a raccoon to come back with them... We have to keep trying." He almost finished that with a "right?" but caught himself in time. Somehow he thought that Beth would lose faith if it was posed as a question. 576

Beth turned her eyes back to Misha, who seemed as reluctant to fight them as they were. She grimaced, trying to reach out again, but was forced to pull back as Misha experimentally struck out at her. The cat's claw scored into the toe of her shoe. Instinctively, Beth squealed and kicked out, shaking the hand gripping the whip to shoo Misha away. The two actions managed to both hit her friend and her chest tightened as she realized the harm she had inflicted.
"Misha, I'm so sorry!" She cried out, turning her shining eyes to Brian. "She's in there, I know it! We can't keep hitting her!"

If Misha had been in her right mind, she would have been horrified at her actions and been shouting her apologies as much as Beth was. If she had vocal chords as well, that is. All she could do, though, when both of Beth's blows landed equaled more of a tragic mess than previously. She yowled in pain and retreated in scrambling haste, paws skittering wildly in the debris on the ground. The result was a very ungraceful sprawl. Then she sprang to her feet again. Turned around as she was, however, her focus now landed on Brian and she hissed at him. Pain maddened, she launched herself towards her Zeus Chosen friend next.
No. No no no no. Stop. I can't... Help. I'm sorry. Brian. Beth. Nonononono.
Frankly, Brian agreed. If they kept it up, all they were going to do was wound the Misha cat and bring it back bloody. They had to disable it somehow, but not through pain. It was Misha, after all. It was a frightened, psychotic Misha but Misha nonetheless. Brian frowned deeply for a moment and then dropped his bow. He reached out to try and grab Misha the Cat by the scruff, but ended up grabbing a front leg.
"Stop this!" he asserted. The anger in his voice was army-level scolding, but the only anger was at himself. He gave the cat a shake, knowing he was probably going to get clawed in the head in the next .4 seconds. "Can't you hear us? Misha!" (70cool

Could not ICly have him attack her. Consider this damage a move toward getting her to give in, I suppose? xD;

Beth couldn't possibly attack Misha now, not when Brian was so close. She didn't want to hurt either of her friends, and she was more liable to hit him than the cat. While it would be a return on the blow he had dealt her in sparring, she was past caring about it. There had to be a better way than just beating her into submission. Why would any animal want to follow strangers who, instead of gaining their trust, violently knocked them out and dragged them back home? How would she want to be dealt with, if it were her?
She huddled close to Brian and Misha, saying gently, "It's us, Misha, we don't want to hurt you, please, just, let us take you back."

Brian did, in fact, get a swat to the face just as he expected to but there was no heart in the gesture. It barely stung at all and there was a question if Misha even had her claws out. She swung her yellow-eyed gaze from one familiar face to the other and a soft mewl escaped her. Her jaw hung open a bit to show fierce white fangs and a pink tongue but, rather than intimidating, she simply looked increasingly tired. She wanted it to be over. She wanted to be herself again and walk upright and hug Brian and Beth and apologize for every claw strike or bite.
Misha hung her head, then turned away to stare into the forest. Her paw still caught in Brian's strong grip, she could not go anywhere else. Beth's soft voice soothed her.
She really just wanted to go home and have this all be a very bad dream that she could use to make Beth laugh and to con a hug from Brian. She did not want to be attacking them or trying to run from them.

Brian barely winced at the smack across the face. He had been expecting it, after all! In fact, the little movement of his neck may have well been a dodge. He wasn't sure, though, if he had successfully moved out of the way or if Misha the Cat had chosen to not strike him particularly hard.
"Are you okay?" he asked, looking into her gaping mouth. She looked exhausted, not threatening. Was it over? "Can we go back to camp now?" He was trying to keep his voice soothing as he released Misha the Cat's forelegs and tried to settled his hands under her chest to try and pick her up. (825)

Beth wanted to believe they were getting through to her. She had to believe there was something that could be done for her friend. While she wasn't sure that it was as over as Brian wanted it to be, she knew they had to start calming her somehow. Hesitantly, knowing that quick movements might spook Misha but also because she didn't want to be bitten, she raised her hand and gently started patting the cat on her soft head. "See? You're okay. You're safe."
