Who is this little witch anyhow?
[Taking place directly after "If You Ever Did Believe"]

The sensation of teleportation is generally not as disorienting as the first time one experiences it. None the less, Rianon imagined it must still be odd for the adult troll to suddenly appear in her hive. The structure looked even more magickal on the inside. Everything was lit with candles, broken glass wind chimes dangled from the ceilings, casting rainbows and sparkles across the vast open living space. There were wooden tables filled with books, bowls, bottles and plants. A cauldron was set in the middle, giving off a low green smoke, it smelled of honeysuckle. The hive had a very open design with branches growing into the home from story to story, perches for Crowma.
Letting go of Bellen's dress, the little witch took a couple deep breaths to make sure she had the constitution left in her to not dive directly into her recupercoon. After a couple moments she dusted her dress off and tossed her grey shawl onto a plush sofa, other lacey shawls and pillows littered it as well.
"Take a look around if ya'd like. I'm gonna change though. Dirty business those hunts," she giggled at her own pun before skipping off to a nearby room. Shortly after she reemerged in her usual garb, a very lovely green shawl and simple laced dress. Her symbol was clearly displayed on the front. Perhaps Rianon was being too hasty in trusting this woman. However, she had a hard time being cautious when the thrill of having her very first visitor was fluttering in her chest. The others had always left, but this one stuck around long enough to let her invite her in.

It was a little jarring the first time she’d teleported them, but the second time made Vremea feel less uncomfortable, less disoriented. She couldn’t help but wonder how she’d found out about her powers, so unique, so… Different. And at such a young age!

Blinking away the daze that settled over her eyes after it, the hemoanon needed a second to recollect her thoughts before she realized where she was— They were in the hive, the sweet smell of herb wafting through the hive as the dim lighting of candles flickered from the gentle breeze coursing through the hive, the wind chimes clinking together with a soft chime. Vremea’s eyes softened. The hive looked very forest-y, and seemed very open, giving off a feeling of a fairy tale, a cauldron set in the middle of the hive with many intricate bottles on the table. There was a lot of green, and— Oh, Vremea hadn’t noticed the troll begin to leave , having been swept up in the niceness of her living space. She nodded, a little distracted as she watched her skip away. “I-I will, ah, sit here.” Vremea needed a moment to breathe.

Before she sat down on the couch, Vremea quickly folded the shawl and placed them to the side, adjusting the pillows lightly to make them look a little neater. She then sat down on the couch, lifting her gloved hands to rub her temples and think about what had just happened. Vremea’s lips folded into a straight line.

What did she just do?! She’d been seen assisting a troll, trying to help them escape a hunt! Vremea— Vremea couldn’t… She became Bellen to not attract attention. If she was found out, they’d have her head! They’d find her out, and immediately she’d… Her gaze trailed upward, seeing the laced shoes of the young troll before realizing she’d come back, decked out in green with her symbol on her chest. A greenblood? But, why… Vremea blinked.

She hoped she didn’t expect her do to the same.

“Hello again…” Bellen murmured, almost dreamily, like she’d practiced. She had a soft smile on her face, and her eyes moved around the room, appreciating it once more. “You have a very quaint abode. I enjoy it, it’s very sweet,” Bellen commented— “And rather comfortable.” Vremea might’ve commented on it’s messiness, but Bellen simply sat there, trying to make conversation. Even if she’d already been seen in a compromising place, she had to save face. Somehow.

Rianon had made sure to wear her good shawl. She couldn't really remember ever wanting to impress another troll before, but somehow she found herself wanting to present herself and her hive in a good fashion. The fact that she had a guest just kept buzzing around her thinkpan. It was hard for her to hide her excitement as with a very wide grin on her face.
"Oh, thank you! Do you really like it? I know it's a little cluttered, but there was a surge of thistleberries lately and I was just trying out some new teas and potions with them." she said, absent mindedly fixing her hair. "Here, I always keep a kettle on!"
Rianon hurried over to a kettle hanging above the cauldron, using a crude wooden stool she got it down and poured a cup for her guest. Her guest!
"I keep some around incase anyone ever comes to rest after the hunts," her facial expressions grew somber for a moment, "but, you're the first!" she quickly shook the malaise off as she handed Bellen the cup of tea. "Just let me know if ya don't like it, I could always make a different kind."
For being such a sneaky troll, Rianon seemed to have a little trouble hiding her own feelings. It seemed as though she wore her pump biscuit on her sleeve.

The greenblood seemed so eager. It was adorable— Her expressions, her movements, they seemed genuine. There was no thought placed into them, simply reacting. Observing her was almost entertaining. “Ohoho, it’s alright. I hadn’t meant to come on such short notice.” Bellen joked, trying to seem a little calmer than she actually felt, the nerves under her skin making her swallow hard, still rattled. “That sounds— Ah, positively delightful!” Bellen murmured, watching the greenblood play with her hair before hurriedly rushing to pour a cup of tea. Throughout this, the adult slid a lock of hair away from her face, listening to the troll speak and observing her actions. She sounded so relaxed, like bailing trolls out of death was something she did every day. How…? Vremea couldn’t fathom doing illegal activities actively every night. “That is very sweet of you.” Began the hemoanon, taking a sip of the delicious tea before settling it onto her lap. “However, aren’t you afraid of being caught?” Bellen paused. “This is delicious, by the way.”

Rianon looked delighted as Bellen enjoyed the tea, clapping her hands together as she gave her approval. "Yeah? Oh I'm so happy, it's hard to tell what's good and not when it's just me and Crowma around here, ya know?" the witch said, pouring herself a cup of tea after pulling up a chair to sit across from her guest. She definitely had a very childish flourish to her movements, though she also seemed oddly wise as she sat down, legs crossed so properly.
"Scared of being caught?" Rianon echoed as she took a sip herself. She shrugged a bit. "Alternia gave me a gift to help those who needed help, I'm just doin' what's right. Besides," she waved a small hand dismissively, "I think my escape strategies are pretty spot on." She giggled and winked. It was as if she thought she was untouchable. Perhaps a false security she gained from finding her powers so young.

Bellen nodded, breathing mellowing out to a calm and relaxed pace as she inhaled the scent of the delicious tea, bringing it up for another slow sip. She returned it to her lap, nodding and chuckling softly before responding. “I understand that. When you are in a small group, you tend to feel comfortable around others and it’s hard to know what is truly good or not. It’s good to meet new people.” Just not under these circumstances…! Thought Vremea as the troll sat in the chair in front of her, surprisingly mature.

Vremea listened to her words with slight surprise. She swallowed. She doesn’t know any better. She convinced herself, continuing to try and relax herself— “Alternia may have given you this useful gift, but…” Bellen trailed off, pursing her lips. “I think, if you continue like that, no escape strategy will help you.” Bellen wished she could treat her like a child, to chide her and say no like she would to anyone else, but the adult knew it wasn’t her place. She’d just have to be real. And that was something Vremea didn’t mind being.

“This Alternia that has blessed you will ruin you, if you keep acting so cocky. Do you think to check who each of your runners are? Some are actual criminals, people who have done terrible things and are being placed on trial for a reason. I’m sorry, but… It’s not for someone who doesn’t think ahead— Of the upcoming threat that it possesses.” Bellen offered her a worried smile. “You seem like a sweet girl. It isn’t smart to get wrapped up in… Politics. You could truly get hurt.”

Rianon seemed dreamy, ethereal as her guest sipped her tea. As they sat conversationally across from one another. Speaking in the tongue of troll instead of that of elder trees was a welcome break, and so the greenblood welcomed it. Until the words turned sour.
Rianon tried to hold her tongue, tried to not become indignant, but holding back was not a strong suit of hers.
"Me be cocky. Me not be careful of whom I whisk away to freedom. I'd rather be 99 times wrong and save a single innocent than let them all die. And what of those in power," Rianon was now on her feet, her tea cup and saucer clinking to the ground, "how many of them are actual criminals? Culling? Killing? In the name of an Alternia forsaken color!?" Her voice raised in tone and ferocity as she became more worked up. "Alternia will do with me as she see fit. Should she have cursed me, that's my own burden to deal with. But I aint about to let so many meet an early and grisly end in the name of some symbol. Some crown that would consume us all before even tipping it's golden thorns!" In a moment she seemed so clear. A crystal vision of reason. To some at least, perhaps. To herself Rianon seemed convinced of her duties, of her real place.
She looked away for a moment, letting out a held breath before kneeling and picking up her nicked teacup. "Sorry, but I don't see the point in existing if ya only exist for the sake of existing. If there is no more...then we are all already dead." These words seemed too wise for the troll, even one of her conviction. Perhaps words of wisdom passed to her from her lusus. She suddenly looked sad, the realization settling in that she may have alienated her first guest. "I hope if nothing else ya can at least respect that I gotta do what I do."

Bellen pursed her lips lightly, feeling the brunt of her words double back toward her as she yelled at her with such conviction it made the yellowblood want to smile. She managed to stifle it with an unsure frown. If she had said that infront of any other troll except her, Rianon would’ve been instantly culled. Those would’ve been her last words, and any last emotion she’d felt would’ve been in vain. But she wasn’t like them. She wasn’t… And yet, she was.

Vremea wished to speak of her ideals, to allow her into their fold with the easy removal of her glasses— But Bellen still needed to keep the facade up, and Bellen wasn’t Vremea. Bellen was loyal. Bellen felt like the rebels ruined her. She was Bellen now. And no matter how much conviction she’d had… Vremea felt incredible guilt, bringing a troll into the rebellion at such an age. She needed her to grow a little— Maybe then, would she learn to take critique.

“I hadn’t meant to offend you,” Bellen murmured, seemingly unfazed by her outburst. She inhaled and exhaled before weaving her story. Just like she’d practiced. “I respect it.” She said softly, “However, I do not support it. You do not just do something so rashly. Of those 99 criminals could be a rebel orphaned with no business hanging around New Hemisect other than the simple desire to cull.” Vremea pushed for emotions, remembering ‘her pain and suffering.’ She let that sit for a bit, hoping she connected her words to her emotions before continuing. “I understand how you feel, but please keep in mind that your actions could harm more than help. But…” Vremea released a held breath. “I think… You should be more careful with your words. Such blatant hate will send you to an early grave. Pick your battles wisely, Rianon.”

Rianon looked carefully at Bellen's face. The witch had been careless with her words, true. But, to whom? A hemoanon troll, who had just assisted her in the escape of one such 'dangerous criminal.' In her indignation a piece of her knew she was rolling the dice. Still, even an assistant of tonight was right. Rianon would not dare admit it, but she knew that she should be more careful with her words. Though knowing something and acting are two different things.
"I think letting loose those words to a hemoanonymous troll who just helped me commit a crime herself is just a little less dangerous than speaking them to a juggalo," Rianon smirked a little. It may not be the most respectful retort, but truthful, and playful, without malice.
"Alternia saw reason to give you a gift too. A very special gift at that," Rianon glanced at the hands that Bellen had used to heal, "maybe some time, we'll see eye to eye." She giggled, returning to her previously playful self. "Would you like some more tea?" she asked, so proper-like. If only the young witch knew the truth behind the façade. Unfortunately all she saw right now was a sad, perhaps once beaten down herself hemoanon troll who had probably been swept up in much more than she had bargained for. The golden thorn's fear spread far and wide, if nothing else Rianon knew this.

Bellen’s eyebrows raised. It seemed pouring water into the cauldron made it fall on her. It didn’t seem scathing, though, and that comforted her. A weak smile spread across Bellen’s face. “That still does not mean I do not work with the very government you cursed with your dying breath.” She murmured, sipping her tea.

“I do work under the government.” Bellen said softly— “But your secret is safe with me.” She commented— Before almost spitting what was left of her tea after remembering she’d seen her use her powers, and the hemoanon took as second to compose herself before looking at her with a knowing and highly serious stare. “Maybe. In time. Until then, keep it a secret. One between you and me.” Bellen murmured knowingly, smooth smile spreading across her face as she nodded eagerly. “I would love some. Now, how did you say you brewed it?…”
