After her dream Chel awoke with a start. She didn't sit straight up but she did jerk and begin reaching out for anything that was nearby as a means of trying to figure out her surroundings.
Surroundings that included one Detective Kuroda.

Sleep was not coming easy for Shun that evening. He was already a light sleeper to begin with, but each time he began to actually fall asleep, dark dreams would begin to plague his mind. He had just drifted off, when something grabbed a hold of him. Immediately, the detective's eyes snapped open and he all but jumped out of the bed, ready to lash out at whatever threat was there in his room.
It took him a moment as he stared through the darkness. Nothing was around. Though he did see Chel there on the bed.

Chel opened her eyes somewhat slowly, then sat up to rub them clear. It was starting to make a little more sense now; Shun's room, the events of the night prior leading her to wake up into Shun's room, the dream ...
Aaand Shun standing ready to kick the crap out of something with nothing on.
It took her a few moments to register exactly what she was looking at and then she couldn't help it; she snorted and put a hand to her mouth to cover the smile. "S'just me, lone ranger," she said groggily, with all the grit that came from a voice that just woke up. "Sorry I woke you. Had a dream."

For a little while longer, even after Chel spoke, Shun remained on high alert. Once he was certain that everything was alright, his shoulder slumped down some and he just moved to sit at the edge of his bed.
"I could not really sleep anyway," he grunted, rubbing his face. He still felt incredibly drained. Glancing over at the time, it was still before noon.

"Bad dreams or ...?" She let him fill in the rest of the sentence. With anyone else she would have moved to hang off of them, but she was beginning to navigate the minefield of Shun a little better.

Shun opted to not answer that for now.
"Go back to sleep."
He was trying to decide if it was worth attempting to go back, himself. He didn't think he was going to be able to get that much more rest, despite how tired he felt.

She debated doing just that. It could have been a dream about the rain. She could pretend it was nothing and continue to ignore it.
But she also wasn't a <******** coward.
(Don't cry; cryin' won't get you nothin').
"I think ... my dream wasn't no ... wasn't a normal dream ..." she said cryptically, pulling her knees up to her chest. "An' that makes me think yers weren't neither."

It honestly took Shun a moment to try and understand just what the hell Chel was saying there. So many negatives.
"It is called a nightmare, Chel," he stated flatly. Tonight, that's really all he had. Run of the mill nightmares. Well, maybe not completely run of the mill, but they were normal for him.

"Maybe." Her thoughts drifted for a moment. "You did say it always rains there ...?"

The detective lifted his head a bit, pausing.
"You dreamed of Other Ashdown?"

"I dunno. Maybe." She really didn't want to admit that she might have. She wasn't sure what it meant about her connection to the world of magic.
"I was over on fifth street. Totally empty an' it was rainin'. Everythin' was boarded up or broken. Bunch of birds on a wire started screamin' and then a car hit me." The dream had ended before the car had hit her, but that seemed besides the point. "What does that mean?"

He tilted his head slowly, listening to Chel.
"A car hit you? I have never seen any actual traffic on the other side... but I suppose there could be some now and then. The place tends to be desolate."
Shun fell silent for a bit, "There are a few possibilities here. One is you just happened to dream of the place because of what happened last night. A normal dream and nothing else. The other possibility is that you are like myself or a few others. You can potentially enter the other side on your own. If this is the case, such dreams will continue, and you may find yourself over there at random."

If it wasn't a car ... Chel shuddered at the idea of something else, not wanting to entertain the thought.
"Can you just ... slow down?" She asked. "It's ... That's a lot to take in." Not to mention she was scared shitless and putting on a face.
