The white feline, Star, aptly name for the grey blotch over his left ear that looks roughly like a star, sat perched upon his owner's shoulder. The tip of his tail twitched ever so lightly as he looked around with bright green eyes. The sounds of birds and other small creatures were keeping him quite aware, but the leash attached to the harness on his chest kept him from running off like he wanted to do.

Juniper wasn't in any mood to chase down her cat again. Thus, she was not keen on taking the leash off of him, no matter how much he pouted. And oh, how he had pouted at first. In fact,he had refused to walk, which resulted in Jun putting the feline on her shoulders where he remained. He seemed comfortable enough and, even if only one of them was getting exercise, they were both enjoying the parks scenery.

There were quite a few people out and about enjoying the cooling weather. Autumn wasn't far away at this point and mother nature was definitely obliging by bringing in more seasonable weather. Juniper didn't mind. Fall was her favorite time of year.

It was amongst these people that she thought she caught a familiar face walking a dog. She paused, eyes squinted as she tried to take stock of why the man looked familiar. Is that Connor?

It clicked for her.

She wasn't sure if she should bother trying to talk to him. They weren't...well...she wouldn't consider him a friend per say but they hadn't been terrible to each other the last time they'd chat.

Waffling over her decision she barely registered, Star rising up onto his haunches until she felt the dig of claws on her shoulder as he prepared to leap. "Oh no you don't!" She practically yelled at the cat, and reached up to grab hold of his harness. The last thing she needed was for him to hurt himself. Taking care of her own stitched up wound was more than enough, thank you.

It wasn't a cold day by any means, but it was cooler, and Connor meant to take full advantage of that fact, as well as the incredibly rare afternoon off, by spending it outdoors. Since the fairy ball, things had been...well, hectic, to say the least. As a basic EMT in training to becoming a full fledged paramedic, he'd been picking up shifts at the hospital and riding along in the ambulance, on top of his other part time job at Darlene's and his classes at the college. He'd barely had time to breathe, let alone process much of what had happened, or deal with the new realizations that had come from his talk with Rylan. He'd barely had a chance to speak with anybody, and thus had begun to feel a certain disconnect from everything.

And that was actually fine with him. All the magic and fairy realm, Other Ashdown, weres, and fetches. Wargs. He just couldn't keep up with it all, and a large part of him still didn't want to, still wanted to hide from that part of his life, which was likely why he had chopped his long hair off, just so that he could style it around the small goat like horns that protruded from his head to keep them hidden away.

Though he knew, there was going to come a point where he was just going to have to deal with it all, now was not that day. Now, he just wanted a break, from school, from work, and from magic.

As he walked his now much less than puppy sized Rotty along one of the paved trails of the park, he breathed deep the crisp air and enjoyed his peace and solitude, only to have it interrupted by a nearby half-shout that caught his attention, his head swiveling towards the sound, his steps slowing, and Peeble's slowing along with him.

Much like Juniper, it took a moment for recognition to dawn, but when it did, he breathed out a small snort of amusement, a smirk tilting his lips upward just slightly as he came to a halt.

"Well s**t, look who it is." He took her Juniper and her situation in with a quick glance. The cat. The harness. ".....Why am I not surprised you'd be one of those ******** people who walk their cat."

“And why doesn’t it surprise me that you’re overcompensating with walking a rottie around?” She retorted, catching his little jab at her. Still she wasn’t mad, just a bit miffed that he said such a thing. “It’s more like he just rides around on my shoulder and only walks when it’s to his liking.”

Connors demeanor hadn’t always clicked with Juniper. Though he hadn’t been bad at the Ball, it would be said otherwise for their first meeting at the theatre where she had called him out for being an a**. After the faceless mannequins had did their damage that was.

“You seem to be doing well enough since the ball.” she commented as she shifted Star who had returned to his perch on her shoulder, fur fluffed up some as he eyed Connor’s dog with displeasure. Star had not ever gotten along with dogs and Juniper wondered if that was from a bad experience before she had saved him from a life living as a stray? Otherwise the white feline tended to get along with just about anyone or anything else. His tail flicked back and forth in anxiety though as his green eyes remained focused on the rottie.
