(Back dating this just a bit)

He’d spent the day at his wonder, he hadn’t been there in a while, speaking with his ancestor and fitting the new curtains to their poles. He was wondering if he could set it up so he could do two layers of curtains all around the place, so it wasn’t just the velvet and fur curtains he’d put up all around his wonder earlier. The spare curtains, in other colors, that he had made were folded and put into a trunk he’d found and cleaned out so they wouldn’t become dusty. He still had more curtains to make, several more sets if he had his way, but at least some progress had been made.

The next thing, aside from finishing the curtains he planned to make still, was to remove the carpeting from the floor and to polish, stain and repair the wooden floors throughout his wonder. He wasn’t sure what color though...it would have to work with all the curtain sets he’d come up with. He was thinking something darker in color though. Something light he didn’t think would work with the dark red curtains he was planning to make, whereas dark wood would work fine with light blue curtains.

His thoughts, filled with curtains, fabric, wooden floors and other design ideas was not focused on where he was as he arrived back in Destiny City. Over his shoulder was a bag filled with supplies he had gone up with and now was bringing down. Included in the assembled items filling his bag was metal chopsticks, a food container, empty bottles from drinking, a bottle filled with….well urine which he would throw out the moment he found a dumpster, a flashlight and more.

As he walked it didn’t take long for him to find a dumpster, this was a city and they were all over the place, so he dug about his bag and finding the bottle he tossed it out. He really wished he could get water running at his wonder so he could properly go to the bathroom there...and take a shower after working hard and sweating.

Shoulder his bag again he continued on his way, unsure if he wanted to go home just yet. It was a nice cool night out and he could use that, as he had been sweating at his wonder.

Quote:
Tortuga was raging out further and further, mostly placing more little med bags since one never really knew where you would end up in the city. He was glad for the break in the weather now as the cool night brushed against his bare arms. It had him wondering what winter would be like dressed in the fur trimmed vest, probably cold as s**t. Why did he ever accept the stupid whistle that even now was around his neck. Stupid, stupid whistle. He sighed and decided to turn his mind away from his weapon, the lame a** weapon of a stupid, stupid, whistle, and instead think of his next cosplay attempt.

Otakon ended well so now it was time to think of the next project. Something he can work on while the new Macgyver was on. The tall redhead smiled at that thought. He was so excited about that show, he hoped CBS handled it well since the original was one of his favorites. Right up there with Mash and Hogan’s Heros. He still remembered the time he spend with his dad in companionable silence as Mac used random household stuff and his trusty pocket knife to get out of trouble.

Tortuga was so wrapped in his own thoughts that he almost missed a dim aura, one of order… a page as well. He needed to branch out and meet more order fighters, other than his own family that is, so with that in mind he headed towards the other page. It never hurt to meet others right? As long as he remember not to gush about cosplay or musicals because what kind of knight would he be if he liked to play dress up. What kind of guy? It was always his dad’s argument to his mom. ‘What will the other boys think of him! He will never be strong that way!’ Even as an adult those comments haunted him.

With a sigh and a shake of his head the page focused on the here and now, heading towards the page at a fairly fast pace. Talking to someone else would be a good distraction for his confused thoughts.

Quote:
Seung however had been pulled from his own thoughts by other things so he felt the person coming toward him - someone like himself. A page was headed his way and rather than run, rather than just decide he didn’t want to see or talk to someone else, he stayed where he was and waited.

If he had never become a knight he never would be this social, would be standing here waiting for some unknown stranger to approach him. It wasn't like him, it never had been, but the fact was that he needed friends and allies in this war. He couldn’t just go with the small group he had, he could but he did in the end need to branch out a bit even if in a loose fashion. He had to get to know others and be social.

Running his fingers through his hair, wincing as it pulled on an earring, Venice let his dark eyes glance about as he wondered when they would arrive - when he would see them. They seemed to be approaching rather quickly...were they running toward him? Why the rush? Was something after them? He didn’t feel anything...so why were they coming so quickly?

Biting his bottom lip, gently, he kept his dark eyes focused in the direction they seemed to be coming from as he waited. Soon...very soon they would be upon him.

Quote:
Tortuga slowed up just as he came insight of the other. It wasn't like he was running from anything other than his own thoughts. As he got closer he waved but kept his vocal greeting to himself until he came to a stop a short distance away.

“Hey. I’m stashing these simple med bags,” he held out the little black bag he had slung over his shoulder on his trip over. “And was wondering if you knew a good spot to put it in the area. Some place order could reach but civilians wouldn't normally look.” It was a bit of a gamble since the other page, what planet was he for anyway, might not be any more familiar with the surroundings as Tortuga was. “Oh and I’m Tortuga by the way. Nearly forgot to introduce myself.” He shrugged and smiled slightly. He really wasn't much of a conversationalist so this should be interesting. He really did need to get out more, talk to new people and the like.

Quote:
Watching the other approach he too waited till they were close before talking. When they were finally close enough, and they were talking, he raised his own voice to speak. “Med bags?” He asked looking at the aforementioned med bag and nodded his head then in understanding.

“Not here, do not know who is coming here often.” And it would be good to have them where you knew people went, some he knew had places they went to often - territories he supposed you could call it.

Moving closer to the other, adjusting his own bag, he held out a hand. “Venice.” He really didn’t know where to suggest the other put such an item, though it was a good idea. “Not safe in alleyways….dumpsters and garbage moves…” When they were collected to that wasn’t a good idea. But where else? “On roof maybe?” He said casting his eyes upward toward the rooftops above them. “Or in tree….where branches are many and too thick to see? Idea - find out in future where many go...put them in territory.”

Quote:
“Yup. It's got mostly bandages in it but it also has some antiseptic and cleaning wipes. Don't want it to have too much just incase it does get found by a civilian.” Honestly Tortuga didn't want to risk leaving anything really expensive or potentially ‘sellable’ like pain killers or the like that really good first aid kits contain. These were basically to just slow, if not stop, the bleeding until further help could arrive. “Well that's a shame. Ah well.” He shrugged and shouldered the little bag.

He gladly shook the younger guy’s hand. “Nice to meet you Venice. Yeah only time I did hide one in a alley it was gone the next day so haven't repeated that mistake.” Tortuga’s purple gaze studied the rooftops of the buildings surrounding them. “I've hidden most under ac units. At Least I think they are ac units. They could be something else. Didn't think of a park or trees.” Could their be useful places to hide one in a park? Maybe an evergreen bush or tree. Anything else might reveal its secret come fall when the leaves changed and fell. With a raise of a shoulder and a half smile Tortuga revealed, “yeah well that's part of the reason I came out tonight. Already kinda stashed several in my general area. Figured it was time to pepper the rest of the city.”

Quote:
He understood most of what the other said, though not all of it, but he had the general idea and thus nodded his head to the other knights words. He couldn’t really think of any place here where he could hide such a thing, though the idea was certainly a good one, the only thing he could think of were rooftops but if someone was hurt...could they always make it to a roof top? Could they always manage the jumps from one to another? He doubted it and said as much next.

“Need some low down...can’t always be up there - not if hurt especially.” His accent was heavy, some letters sounding like others, but the message was clear as an overall whole. At least he was good at that, he might not get the words out right but the message was clear most of the time.

“Good idea to go in other areas, get more people might need help.” He said running his fingers through his streaked hair. “Know I normally not in this area.” He normally went to Korea town where he knew the stores and his way, he understood the people and what was said. If someone screamed for help he’d know it. He had, and still would, venture away from there but that was a comfort zone for him.

“Can join you and help...if you want.” Venice offered after a moment of silence, of thinking and wondering if he wanted to make the offer.

Quote:
For a moment Tortuga could only stare at the other page in surprise. It should have occurred to him that lower hiding spaces were just as necessary as roof top ones but not for the reason he had thought, which was more of a variation of where to hid them, but for the much more practical reason of ‘what happens if someone couldn’t reach them’. It never really occurred to him that a order fighter wouldn’t be able to reach a med bag, after all they were all stronger, faster, healed faster, ect… they were all practically ‘the six million dollar man’. That show really was pretty hilarious but very outdated by today’s standards. Tortuga mentally hummed and decided that they were all more like superheros then some kitschy 60’s tv show hero.

Anyway, it was clear that some easier to reach bags would be necessary but that also compounded the issue of where to hide them so they aren't stolen or accidentally disposed of. “That's the idea but so far it's not the best to implement. No point in leaving them where there aren't a lot of people but if neither of us know the area we won't know one way or the other.” The redhead glanced back at the other knight and curiously asked, “If your not normally in this area where do you normally patrol? Maybe it would be worth heading over there and at least hiding this one where you can access it.” He gestured to the bag. At least this way he knew that at least one other person would know where this particular bag was located. “Any help at all would be much appreciated.”

Quote:
That was an issue keeping them low to the ground, easy to reach, but making sure no random person found them and grabbed them. Though was it a bad thing if it might be a needy civilian who was hurt, whether it be from this war or some other thing? But...that might not be the case - likely wouldn’t be. “Park is busy for many...can maybe bury under light dirt? Hollow trees…?” It was an idea to keep them safer and able to be found by people.

“Wish we could make map...with pin points and info on location…” Why couldn’t they? But how to allow for senshi and knights to access that information while powered up? That was the question - the hard part of all of this.

He did however answer where he normally patrolled. “Korea Town...know the area best - the language.” it was safe and comfortable there, they were his people. Some from Seoul, like himself, others from Busan, Daegu, Incheon, and elsewhere as well as those who had been born here to parents who were from there.

Quote:
Tortuga absently hummed the opening bars Seasons of Love from Rent as he contemplated Venice’s suggestions, he had a bad habit of doing that when he was thinking and not paying attention. Burying the bags would take more work than was feasible but the hollow trees were possible. How many parks would contain trees that conceal the bags though? “Wish there was a way to just leave them in the open without them getting stolen.” His complaint was more of a thought and something he knew would never be addressed after all it just wasn’t practical. Leaving something out was just asking for someone to walk off with it. Sadly, that was human nature.

“I’ve been noting them in a little book for now but I can ask,” He nearly said his cousin but finished with only a slight hesitation, “if something like that is possible. The more people who know about them the better.” Like Venice the redhead wished there was a way to plot each bag on a map kind of like you could put a pin on Google maps only difference was he would have to be able to give more information with each point like ‘on roof under ac unit’ or ‘in alley behind dumpster’. Directions to reaching each one, something a map wouldn't be able to just indicate.

Of course he patrolled Korea Town, Tortuga nearly chuckled but kept the laughter to himself, figuring Venice wouldn’t understand… not really. The redhead had been trying to place the accent, the stilted way the other page phrased his sentences made it really clear that English was a second language but his looks didn’t give him any more information other than ‘Asian’ and that covered a scary amount of cultures and people. Way too many for Tortuga to even guess, which he didn’t want to since it wasn’t any of his business anyway, not that the area Venice patrolled really helped with the ‘where are you from’ question. He figured the area was a mix of alot of diffrent people, it just was primarily Korean… hence the name. “Well you're welcome to have this bag, just let me know where you put it so I can make note of it.”

Quote:
“Wish could make hiding spots to fit in with area around it.” Make the park area, or other area, around a bag fit in somehow. Change things a bit so you could have a hiding spot that would fit in and go unnoticed, find a tree log fallen...though wouldn’t that likely be removed? There had to be more ways to hide the little packs the other had - they were very useful and needed.

“I can tell others...ones I know about them…” But he wouldn’t know where all the bags were. He could tell those who he knew though, send them to Tortuga to find out where they were, maybe suggest places for him to place some bags? “Can send ones I know to you to help...can tell them where packs are.” He said nodding his head as he spoke. One hand reaching up to toy with one of his earrings.

“Come with me, can see the area...maybe place others in future there and help place this one.” He said nodding to the one that Tortuga was holding, offering him. “Can talk on way, best to be in pairs.” He said seriously. He knew it was a better idea to be in pairs, or groups, as he said and yet it wasn’t something he did a good amount of the time he went out to patrol. “I can help...in future...making packs to hide in city...work together and get more out for more people.”

Quote:
“Kinda like hiding in plain sight. Yeah that would work but it would be damn hard to pull off.” Tortuga could see it now, they would make a bench and create a secret door or hollow for supplies to be stashed or a fake power box to be mounted on the side of a building in an alley. The amount of work it would take to create and disguise such things would far outstrip the cost of the simple med bags. Honestly the little black canvas bags nearly cost more than the ziploc bag of bandages within it. If he didn’t make costumes and practical clothes so much then they would have but as it was he used scrap cloth and dyed them a dark color, this batch was canvas and black. “Still worth looking into though.”

Smiling at the other page he nodded and fished out the small book he hid in his scarf belt, whoever designed this uniform really needed to take a design class or twelve. “Give me a bit and I can write what I have out already for you. The more who know the better, if they also start little emergency supplies kits that would also be great since you never know when they might come in handy.” If Venice directed others to him, Tortuga could also get to know more people. Becoming less singular was never a bad thing.

“Sure, lead the way.” the tall page gestured towards the city, indicating for Venice to take the lead. He had no idea where Korea Town was, he knew they had one just not where it was. “The buddy system is used in many instances but in this case, in this city, it's pretty imperative and yet the few others I’ve met are all out alone.” It was a quandary but one that could be figured out another day, with a shrug and a half smile Tortuga ambled on after Venice. Seemingly relaxed but still on the lookout for anything abnormal, for Destiny City at least.

Quote:
The amount of work behind his idea he knew was a lot, but he also knew it would help and allow for more packs to be hidden, they just...needed the funds and ability to do the work. Perhaps if people dressed up as city workers, to fake it, and put in things at night they could hide packs as well? The idea was insane, something you’d find in a manga or anime, but it was a good one - just a very hard to pull off idea.

“Perhaps talk to many others...work together and fund idea together to help us all? Could help civilians also...normal people who get hurt.” he offered to the other. Maybe they could get others together to help fund this and work to set it up? It would benefit them all so why not?

“Of course.” Nodding his head to the other, watching what he pulled from the confines of his uniform, he was silent and ever watching. When the other asked him to lead the way - he did. Rooftops was the best way to go, their uniforms would attract far too much attention on the sidewalks.

“Yes, but good idea...especially when not knowing the city well.” Or when you didn’t know an area, or how to get somewhere, like right now. He did lead the way, past the city's China Town and to where the language changed, if one looked at the writing and paid it any close mind they’d have noticed it looked different now. This - this he could read...this was his own language. “We can hide it anywhere here...this is my part of city.” He doubted anyone else traveled and patrolled this area, aside maybe Erebus now?

Quote:
“It never hurts to ask.” Although the whole idea of bringing more people into his idea had Tortga mentally pausing. Would they know how to use the supplies properly? Just how many order members knew first aid? How many were EMTs or Doctors like his cousin and him? There were more angles to this idea that he had first thought of. A small voice wondered if proceeding further really was such a good idea. As they made their way across the rooftops the redhead kept his worries to himself, it wasn’t until they reached Venice’s home area that he absently asked, “Venice do you know basic first aid?” as he surveyed the buildings all around them.

Soaking up their surroundings, Tortuga had never ventured in this part of the city, something he was seriously regretting now. “This place is so cool,” his comment was said quietly as he drifted towards the edge of their rooftop, trying to get a better look in some store windows across the way. At first it didn’t really make any sense to him but as he took it all in he nearly jumped down and raced across the crowded street. “Oh my god! Is that a Lelouch Emperor outfit?” The mannequin in the store window was surrounded by window decals and other items for sale, nothing he could understand or really make out but Tortuga really wanted to get down there now and check out the store.

The sound of a horn blaring had Tortuga starting slightly. He had completely forgotten about Venice, or even the fact that he was Tortuga for the moment. The page had totally just blown his cover as an adult and not some man child who liked to play dress up. Hestily clearing his throat he turned away from the store, ignoring the pain of longing that shot through him, and faced Venice. Completely ignoring his lapse in sanity the tall page held out the little canvas bag, “Here take it. I don’t know the best place to stash it so it would be bests if you did it.”

Quote:
Turning around he shook his head. “Bandaids...wrap and gauze for cuts...that’s it.” But he was sure most people knew that. “Can use an epipen.” Since he had his own, he knew the where and how and the like. But he doubted that would be something the other would have in a pack, those pens were expensive, and it wasn’t likely anyone would have an allergic reaction to anything in a battle.

It wasn’t like he’d ever had a reason to learn first aid till now, and how many others were in the same boat? Maybe he should mention lessons? Having the packs was a great idea...but people might need to know how to use them. He was going to mention his venture with giving stitches, since he was good with a sewing needle and thread, but the other was...off and heading across the street.

Watching for a moment he jumped down to the pavement and looked up at the other. “Yes...store sells manga, anime, and costumes...other things too.” He said staring at the other and then at the costume across the street in the storefront.. “Can make that myself.” Shrugging his shoulders but then he found himself smiling. “You cosplay.” A statement, not a question. He had to, right?

“Should go in as a civilian...workers speak English.” Most were American though some were of one Asian background or another.

“Also, I have given stitches...not best but I can sew...so helped a bit. Should maybe teach some people - those who know about packs...make best use of them then.”

Quote:
After a moment of hesitation Tortuga joined Venice on the pavement, his gaze drifting back across the street, longing written all over his face. His violet eyes flicked back to the other page as the younger fighter revealed that he at least knew how to design outfits and create them as well. Neither was something that was acceptable while Tortuga was growing up so his hobby was kept secret and even as Venice correctly pegged him as a cosplayer the redheaded knight was shaking his head ‘no’.

He started to stammer out some excuse for knowing about the outfit but after a moment he sighed and just gave into the inevitable. Besides, he was likely to blow his cover when he started to really examine the costumes that store held. Looking them over for attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the materials used. It took serious skill to pull off a decent, accurate, cosplay outfit. “Yeah though it’s just a hobby. I don’t do it much. You?” If Venice cosplayed as well at least Tortuga wouldn’t feel as childish as he did right then, after all what grown adult played dress up but if he wasn't alone then maybe it wasn’t as silly as it sometimes felt.

“Yeah, civi would be best since I don’t think they would appreciate our uniforms. Besides we still have that bag to stash away first.” Tortuga’s brow rose as he surveyed both of their outfits, Venice’s was much better than his own. He would just have to visit the store after they got their current business done. “Homemade stitches aren't the best but I guess beggars can't be choosers. Really though it does seem like a basic first aid class is needed, if only to make sure others know who they can contact to avoid going to the ER and having to answer unwelcome questions.” He would have to talk to his cousins first and see if they had any idea to go about setting up such a seminar. Xander would know the best stuff but he had a feeling Lily would be the one to figure out the logistics that such a meeting would entail.

Quote:
“Don’t lie, can tell you are. Hard not to spot someone who does the same thing.” Though he hadn’t really been able to this year. He didn’t know where or when or anything here, he’d made one but only on the Sunday and it had been small...ish. It hadn’t had as many people as he’d expected but it had still been fun. It meant however he had two costumes that he hadn’t worn ever, as he’d made them for cosplaying this summer.

“Friend got me to cosplay with her, years ‘go.” And that had lead to him going to the gym, to keep in shape and look better in the costumes he made and wore. His arms, since his stomach was covered by his vest, were toned and defined but not overly so. He was in shape and it showed, he took care of himself. “Continued with her till moving here...don’t know anything here. Made one but only Sunday - was small too.”

When the topic changed to the medical aspect of things he nodded while thinking of where this could go. Oh! There were some statues he knew that had openings, no one would look much less notice. He would be able to reach inside and get it also. They were stone pagoda statues outside of a small restaurant down a small back alley. It would be easy to get to, not many would notice him there, and he didn’t see anyone messing with the statues outside the shop plus they’d be closed late at night when he was likely to need the bag

“Handmade was only option for me and other knight...got soju for us both first.” So drunk and being stitched, or at least buzzed, he knew it wasn’t likely a good idea but it handled the pain enough that they hadn’t moved about and further injured themselves. Being able to sew, as he could, also he figured helped. But it was thread you’d use for sewing clothing, not people, which had been used and same for the needle - though he wasn’t sure if that was any different.

“Basic would be good...needed in this war. Many have no...knowledge and hospital is not good idea always. Clinics hard to find and ask things.” Which meant a good option was do it yourself or get others who could do it, others involved in this war. ”Money is issue too and insurance…”

Quote:
Tortuga just shrugged, even though Venice was a cosplayer too it still was hard for the older man to be so open about it. “I mostly do conventions, don’t know about any local groups.” Unlike the other page Tortuga was never formally introduced to the subculture of cosplayers. He had picked up the sewing skills from his mother, along with his knowledge and love of musicals, but rather than making practical outfits he loved to figure out the uniforms and costumes of cartoon characters. That eventually changed to anime rather than just cartoon and the rest was history. “Who… who is your favorite?” He couldn’t help but be curious what kind of characters Venice cosplayed as. Tortuga favored the strong, kind type himself, Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin in particular. When his hair was longer, he really could pull Kenshin off, well except the height, Tortuga was likely a lot taller then the character was but he didn’t really care that much.

With a sigh the tall redhead drifted away from the shop that had caught his attention, further into the shadows. He needed to focus on the task at hand, the medical bag, and what it represented. “Yeah well money and insurance is almost always an issue. I hope Soju is like whiskey, to help steady the nerves. At Least now you know someone else to contact if that happens again.” He really didn’t think he was the best to call but if there was no one else Tortuga knew he was a better bet than nothing. Maybe his family had better ideas but right then there was little to no option as far as he knew. “Knowing basic first aid would be a good idea even if you weren’t fighting in this insane war. There might be some classes you could take. It would atleast give you some idea of what to do, at least until something better can be arranged.” Tortuga shrugged as his eyes drifted back across the street. They really needed to get that bag stashed so he could go poking in that store.

Quote:
“Don’t know anything here in this city…” Shrugging, he was sort of lost to the culture here. He didn’t know anyone, till now, who did cosplay and it wasn’t something he could just ask people in school or knights and senshi he met. It was, he figured, a very odd thing to ask about or discuss with others. Back home it wasn’t such a bad thing, to cosplay and like anime, though it was nothing like it was in Japan. He had only been there twice, to see his cousin who was studying there, but he had seen the anime and cosplay culture there and it was...insane. His younger cousin had taken a real liking to the lolita fashion. At least a tamed down version of it anyway...a cute look that wasn’t as lolita and baby doll as most.

“I have done many...might not know some. I like..shy and quiet...cold characters.” Characters who were like himself. They were shy whereas he wasn’t but quiet types and those with secrets, those who were cold and not easy to get close to. He picked ones like himself. “Favorites...Nagi in Weiss Kruez...and Kyoya from Host club.” Venice answered of some time to consider. They were two of his favorites, both were school uniforms also, but he had liked cosplaying as both of them. He was somewhere in between when it came to height for them as he was five foot six inches himself.

“You want to go insane.” He said nodding toward the store, following at the others side. “We will put it somewhere now...then go see costumes.” The page of Ganymede said with a smile before he hurried off ahead of the other, motioning for the other to follow him. He knew a good place. As he took the main street and made a turn, crossed a street, and went down a side street - a very small and windy one. It reminded him of the ones back home like in Hongdae and other areas, Insadong also. The small restaurant was something he’d have expected back home as well, aside from the little stone pagodas on either side of the bottom of the steps up into the place. It was inside of one of these hollowed out stone pagoda that the pack was hidden.

“In here it’s safe. We can go back now.” Standing and turning to face the other.

Quote:
“The last convention I went to was Otakon up in Baltimore although next year it will be in Washington, D.C. so it will be a little bit closer.” Even if he wasn’t able to go to a con he still kept an eye on them. More often than not he traveled to the closests ones and just lurked on the websites for the pictures, videos, and articles for the others he couldn’t go to. Even though he created his costumes for himself, or his family, it was always interesting to see what others came up with as well.

“Can’t say as I’m familiar with Kyoya but Nagi is a neat one to do. Have you tried Hiei from YuYu Hakusho or Byakuya Kuchiki from Bleach? Saitō Hajime or Shinomori Aoshi from Rurouni Kenshin would work as well but I think the best one for you might be Soujirou Seta.” Calm, cool, collected, and nearly impossible to read. Yeah this kid really struck him as that except not that insane. That anime character always struck Tortuga as a bit out there on the sanity scale.

Pulling his wandering gaze back from the store the tall redhead had the decency to blush slightly, he really didn’t mean to get distracted from the other knight but it was just so hard to focus. “Ah, yeah. I want to go inside.” He wanted to do more then just go inside He wanted to spend hours in there poking around, days even. He wanted to study the construction of the outfits they were selling, the patterns and materials. He wanted to expand his collection and get more ideas. Maybe he could find some good ones for his cousins too since he enjoyed making their halloween costumes as well.

Tortuga followed Venice quietly, his eyes taking in their surroundings even as his mind remained on the shop they had left behind. Could some of these places hold the same kind of stuff? He really needed to get down here on a day off and explore to his heart’s content. He held back as Venice seemed to reach the spot he was looking for, it seemed to be some little restaurant but if the scents Tortuga could smell it was a local favorite since it was making his mouth water. “Alright, if you're sure it won’t be messed with. You know a spot where we can change without being spotted?” It went against everything he was taught regarding his civilian name, the whole point of a secret identity was keeping it secret but he wanted to go to that store more and Tortuga wasn’t sure he could figure his way back to that spot alone.

Quote:
Well, he might not know one of the ones he’d cosplayed as but he knew the other, which was good. He didn’t know how many people knew Weiss Kreuz as it was a bit older of an anime, though perhaps that was why people still knew it? A classic...maybe? Though he would admit the timeline for it is rather off...he had seen enough other fans mention that as well, and he fully agreed. That was something they should have thought about when doing Weiss. But that aside he liked the idea of the anime and had fallen in love with the character of Nagi, though his background was differing at times also but that was in part due to the messed up timeline.

“No, haven’t done them...maybe Soujirou Seta I make...similar to honbak outfit.” Which he knew how to make already, so his outfit wouldn’t be that hard really. He did like the character as well, they were interesting and had a good backstory to explain things.

“Don’t know Bleach...have not seen.” he knew it was popular, had heard about it a lot, but he couldn’t say he had ever seen it. “Have not seen other one either. Have heard of both - popular.”

Approaching the other he nodded his head, gazing up at him, and smiled. “Of course. Know this area very well...some safe alley is nearby. We can change there and go see. Maybe, if costume is too expensive, I can make or help you make…” He offered then, thinking on all the ones he’d made over the years...and the few he had made and not worn this year. He had yet to ever show Terry any of them...maybe he should?

The alley wasn’t too far away, two blocks and maybe a little bit more, but when he got into the alley way he did power down once safely hidden by the shadows. His clothing melting away to a light hoodie, ripped up dark wash blue jeans, black boots, and a different set of earrings occupied the holes in his ears. He had on glasses, as he’d had when powered up, over all he looked good and with a distinct style that you didn’t see on many. How many American males his age wore tight jeans like he did? Not to mention they had rips in them.

Tortuga nodded. Not everyone had seen everything, he was partial to more historical-esq and Shonen stuff himself. Mecha and shojo weren’t really in his wheelhouse but he had seen a few things for making stuff for others even if it wasn’t really his thing so he didn’t hold the lack of knowledge against the younger page. Maybe now he will go check them out. Mentally shrugging Tortuga smiled and gestured for Venice to lead the way, oddly happy that the other page was already thinking of how to create Soujirou’s outfit.

Maybe once his red hair grew out they could cosplay together… that would be pretty epic. But Tortuga hesitated on even suggesting that because he really wasn’t sure he could or even would let his hair grow to the proper length anymore in order to pull off Kenshin right. Tortuga paused for a split second as he followed Venice as it occurred to him that he might be able to do a ‘modern day’ Kenshin, short hair and all. It would take some thought but it could be done. He was so wrapped up in his own thoughts he absently answered, “Nah. I like to make them myself anyway and I have all the materials back in my place although help would be cool.” He didn’t normally request help or even revealed that he had a everything needed to make a complicated outfit. If he had been paying attention he might have said nothing at all but he was so wrapped up in the mental desgin he nearly walked right past the alley Venice ducked in.

Tortuga quickly backed up just in time to catch the page turning into a rather normal teen. God that made him feel old. At 27 he had to be pushing 10 years older than this kid, or at least it felt that way as he took in the outfit. With a sigh he knew it was his turn, everything in him said that he needed to keep his civilian side secret just as his strange hobbies needed to be kept secret, but the desire to wander that store and talk shop without being ridiculed was actually stronger. So ducking into the alley as well Tortuga dropped his magical persona and was just standing there as Pat O’Ryan, EMT and closet dork. His t-shirt a nondescript blue, jeans worn and aged the traditional way… by wearing them, work boots, and a simple dark gray zippered hoodie completed his ensemble. Average in every way except for the shock of red hair, his purple eyes, and his height. Pat really hated sticking out of the crowd.

Leaving the alley Pat glanced around before looking back at the kid sheepishly, “I really don't think I could find my way back to the main street let alone that store so you really will have to lead the way…. Uh…” He faded off. He didn’t know what to call the young man, Venice wasn’t appropriate, not now. Not as a civilian. Not when it could become dangerous for either of them to use their powered monikers. “The names Pat by the way.”

“Oh! You make also, that’s good. Could make some together..” He ventured to offer, unsure what the other would think. They could try and perhaps make a pair, characters that were from the same anime, or manga. It wouldn’t be that hard and it would be nice to work with someone again, he rather missed that. Actually he missed a lot of things, if he could gain some things back he would be happy. “Can help you if you want, or just work together on pair project.”

Watching the other power down he took note of the others unique features, ones he’d already seen with him powered up, the other had him in height for certain. Seung was only five foot six, which he was comfortable with, but it meant a lot of males were taller than him. He was more on par with females when it came to height, or at least he felt that way. At least Terry only had him by an inch, so he didn’t feel so bad.

“That is fine, you can learn the area if you come here enough - I show you around.” He offered, wanting to help the other and perhaps introduce him, where he wouldn’t risk getting lost, to the area he called home.

“Is nice to meet you Pat. I am Seung.” He said careful in how he pronounced his name a bit slower, to help the other, his name being foreign could be an issue for some. He remembered his teachers butchering it, and a few other people having issues with it as well. His family name was easier, at least once he told them the K was more like a G in sound. “Kim Seung. Now, we should go, you can see what store has to offer.”

“Maybe.” Pat didn’t say yes, but he didn’t say no. Since he was already thinking of group costumes it felt wrong to turn the kid down but it still went against what he had grown up believing, keep it hidden, don't let it known. Working together would definitely be going against that credence not that he hadn't already done that. With a smile Pat gestured to the street, the twisty, winding path they had taken, “Lead the way Seung. Don’t want the store closing before we get a chance to see just what kind of treasure it holds.” He definitely would be coming back in this part of town.

Maybe was fine with him, it wasn’t a no, and it gave him some hope of finding someone interested in the same thing he was. He couldn’t replace his friends back home, he knew that, but he could find people here to do the same things with. That was good enough for him. At least Pat seemed interested, and wanted to spend time with him now, as he lead the way to the anime shop.

Seung wasn’t interested in the costumes but rather other items they might have. He knew a bookstore he could get his manga art and he watched his anime online. So he wouldn’t be looking to purchase either at this store. Who knew what else they’d have, he’d only walked into the place once.

Leading the way he managed a glance back at the other and a small smile. This felt good..a friend to share an interest with. This was comfortable.
