Despite how he felt about recent events, Shun didn't feel a particular need to go out of his way to be avoiding certain people. The teashop still had high quality tea, and he needed to resupply. He slipped on in after work one day, looking worn from the general lack of sleep he had been getting. It wasn't for a lack of trying. There were just too many things weighing on him as of late. He couldn't just turn it off and relax. The detective just sort of headed straight to one of the walls to pick something out, then moved to the counter so that he could pay.

"So are you going to let me know why you're treating me like I'm the worst person on earth, or are you just going to sulk in the corner until you figure out how to check yourself out?" Her arms folded, Autumn regarded Shun, equal parts sad and frustrated. It was lucky the shop was slow enough that talking to him openly wasn't an issue. Nonetheless, he was a customer. Autumn took his tea, and began the ring out process. "All I got was 'Autumn, she's bad.' No explanation. No reasons. Chris and Thorne were dancing like everything was fine, and Melany was watching happily. And now you people are looking at me like I'm the scum of the earth." She sighed, closing her eyes. "What happened that you're looking at me like that?"

Shun glanced over at Autumn as she spoke up, "The worst? No. Far from it. Some may argue that I am worse. But you did play a role in ensuring the Spinel Lady lives."He folded his arms over his chest. All the while, he kept the same even tone he normally spoke with. "You recall the way she ordered Thorne's double to openly break the hand of Alois for what she considered to be disobedience?" he asked. The detective recalled seeing her attack Melany, but it was possible she had missed parts of it, "That sort of s**t is not the type of thing that is a one time occurance."

She was silent, staring at nothing as she considered the information. Finally, she covered her face with a hand- shame, embarrassment- and turned away from Shun. "I'm so ******** stupid. I didn't even... That didn't click for me. I thought it was a big party show thing," Autumn confessed, shame in her tone. Why hadn't she given it consideration? Abuse would explain the odd love- the seemingly strange loyalty to Melany and Ezra. It was ******** textbook Stockholm, not some kind of magic tomfoolery. "Jesus Christ. I saved a monster."

While that sunk into Autumn, Shun stood by quietly. It seemed she now understood what he was trying to tell her that night. "At least you admit it. Or that you understand. I am uncertain if the same could be the said for the others who worked to save her."He didn't really know them, but going off of what was said, it seemed it was most important to them to save lives regardless of how much more pain doing so can cause to more people in the future. It seemed horrendously short sighted to him, and all for the sake of being compassionate.

"Yeah, can you do me a favor? If you see me going to heal a serial killer or like, mass child rapist cultist, PLEASE rip me off of them?" She rubbed her face, and lord did she feel exhausted again. She'd already slept for three days, but now Autumn felt like going home and sleeping for a month. "All I saw was that she got in your friend's head, was doing some kind of magic and ******** her up. And I don't approve of that- that's why I went after her." A steadying breath, and then. "But- and I need you to know this- when I heal someone, I feel their pain. I let myself get stabbed, I feel Alois's hand. It's not... I don't take it. But I live it, in that moment. So when people are just yelling BAD AUTUMN, NO HEAL MONSTER, I can't... I don't process it. It's there, but I was basically taking the stab over and over again." She shook her head. "So, I'm genuinely asking you- begging you really- I can't think straight when I'm healing someone. If I'm ******** up, just pull me back. Please."

Shun folded his arms over his chest. "I did pull you off. Though perhaps a little too late. Melany seemed to have stabilized at that point. Even then, that was only half of it. The others there were ******** determined to get her to a hospital or whatever. Presumably they were of clearer minds than you."He couldn't stop them all. "I had tried to end it there. But my efforts were not enough. She lives, somewhere. What was done is done."Saving her was a big mistake to him. A mistake he felt they would all have to live with. "If your powers are that taxing on yourself, you may want to be less liberal with using them in general. Especially when it comes to trying to save multiple dying people back to back."He saw her run up to Adoelle just moments before. He could only assume that was what she was trying to do.

"Your magic doesn't drain you like this?" She asked, finally looking at him. At the very least, Autumn didn't feel like Satan Incarnate anymore. Not that she'd be able to face any of the people who'd been under Melany's 'care', but... It was a slightly less bitter pill to swallow. But still...
"I can't... I have these powers for a reason, Shun. There's nobody else with this affinity for healing but me. If I'm not supposed to save people, then what? Just let people suffer? But that's- that's not an issue for you. It's something I've been working on for a while."
Somehow, she managed to offer him a worn, weary smile. Not happy, but a show that she was alive. Sort of.
"Thanks, though. For actually talking to me and telling me what's up."

Rather than given an immediate reply, Shun glanced at the box of tea he was purchasing. With a small bit of movement from his hand, it began to rise up over the counter. "As far as I am aware, this is the extent of my power. I can lift and fling relatively small objects. Prolonged usage tires me, but there are no immediate detrimental effects. It is also something much smaller than what you can do with your powers, however."That wasn't to say there wasn't any versatility in how he could use his. It was certainly useful at times, but he felt that he could no way say he was on the same level as others as far as magical abilities go. Especially compared to Jeremiah. As he was thanked, he just shrugged. "Have others not explained since then?"

"No, not really. Thorne won't talk to me anymore, and I don't know where any of the others live or how to contact them." she bagged up the tea, pursing her lips.
"I'd apologize if I could, but. I doubt it'll matter. They were pretty well convinced I was just as much of a monster as Spinel, so. I've basically written all of them off." Besides Alois and Rabbit, but. They seemed more forgiving, more understanding. Less inclined to run her out on the rails for a lack of understanding. So... by their actions, at the very least, she could keep looking out for them.
"And it's not usually this bad. It's just been a bad drain lately. Can't imagine the party made it any better."

Well, he couldn't say that he blamed Thorne for it. Mistake or not, Autumn did play a part in helping his tormentor. "He may come around one day. I imagine his wounds are still rather raw right now, though."Shun set down the money for the transaction, then reached for the bag on the counter. "Why do you think that is? The powers being more draining lately, I mean."

"Yeah, I'll let him come around if he wants. I'm not inclined to fight an uphill battle against someone who'd call me a monster, when we'd been friends, for not... for not being told. For hesitating to kill someone without a reason." She shook her head, and felt the tears threatening. Again. It seemed like all she could do lately was cry. Turning her face away, Autumn went ahead and took the money, processing his transaction.
Of course they'd just hold it against her. She was a monster to them, after all.
At least Shun was decent enough to realize she just hadn't had the time or information.
"Ah- I think it's how much I'm using. Pax mentioned tapping into my core, exerting my magic more than other people." And would likely not be entirely pleased with her saving of the Spinel Lady, either. Was that one more friendship she was doomed to lose, simply for no one having given her the proper information? How were they supposed to have known? She wasn't smart, not like the detectives. She was just... a stylist. A tea salesgirl.
"Anything else?"

"I'm probably going to go home and sleep until I don't hate myself," She admitted, no malice towards Shun in her words. She offered him a wave, and handed over the bag.
"Take care, Shun. And for what it matters... I'm sorry."

With a low grunt, Shun nodded to Autumn as he took the bag. Then, he turned to quietly head on out the door. The weight of failure continued to burden him.
