The cool night air almost stung her face; having been crammed under a mask all night her face was grateful for the change in temperature.
Her clothes had returned to the simple party outfit she'd put on before the prince charming had taken over; for once she was actually grateful for it.
She looked around, trying to place where she was. It wasn't raining anymore, that was good. Where had Shun ...?

He wasn't out of breath, but Jack still looked winded as he exited the manor. Thankfully his flight out had been completely uneventful, which was a nice balance to the utter shitfest he had just witnessed. He too felt the night air hit his bare face with mild surprise; the white raven mask was gone. No souvenir, huh.
"Chel!" he called out to the familiar pink figure, boots clicking closer. "Wait up. Think my date ditched me."

She turned at the sound of her name, looking like she'd been at a week long mosh pit despite it only having been a few hours.
"That makes two of us," she said, broaching the distance to him. "Shun was right behind me, an' now-" She was already looking around Jack's shoulder, over her own. The adrenaline of her night hadn't quite worn off; she was ready to talk another Spinel.

"He'll be fine. He had the energy to stab Melany at any rate," he added offhandedly, turning his head as well, like they might be joined any second. "Let's put some distance between us and this place."

Chel nodded and resumed her stalking position. She wasn't sure why, she just had this feeling something would follow them.
"Are you okay, princey?"

"Yeah. Didn't encounter anything trying to get out," Jack answered as he followed after. He found himself ducking his head just a bit himself in turn, not that it mattered much on a man as tall as Jack. "Any drama outside ground zero? I saw you snuck out."

"F'there was, I didn't see it. Last thing I remember I was walkin' away and then Shun ran by sayin' we had to run."
She put her hands on her head, rubbing the sides (careful not to smudge any of the makeup, god forbid). "It's been a long night." Chel needed a hug and a bed. Maybe twenty.

"Yeah..." Jack pocketed his hands, frowning when he encountered something in one of them. Apparently someone had sneaked a box of chocolates in there...?
"Least this time our lives weren't in as much danger," he noted. "No crazy weres and s**t."

"Someone who already wanted to die," Jack said with a one-shoulder shrug. "Considering our last brush with the supernatural, this was a breeze."

"What, so you don't give a s**t that someone was murdered? That's ********' PSYCHO!"
Normally Chel wouldn't have given this much of a s**t but the night had run long and she was tired of people ignoring her way of thinking. Was it really so deranged to try to stop the sacrifice? To think that nobody needed to be killed? To even try?
She blinked a few times then started walking in the opposite direction. Her eyes were starting to feel wet and she didn't want Jack to see that. It was too much stress in too short a time; Chel said she was strong but she could only do so much.

Maybe he was just too numb to it still. Jack took time to process; Chel, it seemed, had processed too much. (Why do you think she ran the first time?)
He let her take a lead and then took a brisk walk after nonetheless, unwilling to let her get away so soon after that. "Chel, c'mon—"
