Malikah was sitting in the cramped closet of the household's tiny apartment out of his own will, the light buzzing somewhere above his head as a box and broom dug into his lower back. The house was loud today, Castiel and Pyre both insatiable as Cassie and Smolder shook the last of sleep out of their wings. They had been awfully tired this week, but Aten had assured them their parents were okay and just needed a bit more time to rebound.

A hand slammed against the closet door and Malik jumped the slightest, holding his breath. However they quickly passed, Raa charging through the home as he sought out his hiding brother. The infant's on and off wails certainly helped in this game of hide and seek even though Malikah was in the last of the few places he could actually still fit in the home. With a second thought, he yanked one of Smolder's sweaters free from the hanger above him, draping it across his front and face. It didn't hide his tail well but maybe.

A small, quiet sigh escaped the hybrid as time continued to pass. Usually he was just as high strung, but with everything changing again (and actually being able to understand what was going on) he was maybe feeling a little old. Would he be a teenager soon? It was a thrilling thought. Adjusting himself as to awaken his sleeping legs, the hybrid sucked on the inside of his cheek. He had already made promises to Avelyn about their Junior years and the classes they would take together. Soon his new classes would start and that was terrifying. At least Raa was getting ready too.

Clicking his claws together, Malikah exposed his face again, tucking the itchy sweater under his chin as he looked to the ceiling light. None of his classes excited him. Sure, Life Skills with Ave was probably going to be fun, but (no offense to his fluffy Father), he didn't exactly want to grow up to be a home body. His mother was always invested in reading and writing but that didn't interest him either - he wasn't that good with words or creative. And Smolder? Did he even know what his Dad went to school for? The light emitted another low buzz.

As feet pounded back down the short hallway, Malikah jumped to his feet, swinging the door wide open. "You took too long!" Malikah shouted over the loud hollow sound of the door smacking, fur fluffing up in his fake huff. He wasn't actually mad, and then it was hard to be mad once he noticed he had clobbered Raa straight in the face with the door. Panic instantly swelled up in his chest, moving to pulling his brother back to his feet. "I'm sorry!" he blabbered out, claws clicking together as he tried to inspect his sibling.

Maybe he quite wasn't ready to grow up just yet, but Malik thought he has some time left. He was going to take his classes, enjoy them (Life Skills especially) and see where the road took him. Hopefully by then he would find something interesting that suited his tastes.
