There was no cellphone buzzing with messages, no pings online from anyone, no emails, no phone calls, no knocks on doors, nothing! It was so utterly lonely and boring that Benji was going out of his mind!
Honestly, though, it was his own damn fault. With his generally nasty attitude, and his lack of courage to reach out to another person, it was no surprise that the teen found himself alone most of the time. He had a few acquaintances that he had tried to reconnect with over the past few months, but he never really found himself with a reason to contact them. He couldn't just contact them out of the blue! Big ol' tough Benji/Chara all sad and lonely, how embarrassing would that be?
He did have one person he kinda knew. At least his mom did, anyway, with her creepy stalking ways and what not. It had been some time since he had last seen the kid that lived on the first floor. Illian seemed to work nonstop... Which made sense, given the situation, but that also meant that Benji had a hard time trying to spend time with him. Hard to hang out if there wasn't anyone around.
But it was a Sunday Morning. Surely he would have a Sunday off, right? Or atleast go in late. Maybe they could go out for breakfast, or maybe Illian could even just come upstairs and have a bite to eat. That would be nice. That would be amazing compared to this silence he was facing otherwise.
With a grunt, Benji finally got off his bed and slipped on his flipflops to make the quick trip down the five flights of stairs to the little dark corner apartment where his friend (were they even friends?) lived.
He found himself hesitating, mentally preparing himself to be told 'no'. That would be alright, that would be fine, after all, he couldn't FORCE people to want to hang out around him. Ah, ******** it.
With determination and meaning, he gave the door a good few loud taps. If he was asleep, he wasn't now.
