User ImageHe had been able to track down Miela and after a whole lot of pleading and groveling he had gotten out of her that they had children while he was away, two daughters. Trying to get it out of her had been tougher than he would have thought since she was so upset and kept flying away. So he'd have to wait for her to come back, yell and cry some more and then repeat the whole process.

Leaving her to cool down since it seemed that they had to work through things, or rather she had to work through things so he thought he'd seek out his daughters. He had gotten a rough direction as to where they had traveled, or at least one had traveled. With little else to go on except that they were a mix of the two of them he at least had their names so that was something. Flicking his tail behind him as he walked, blue eyes peeled on the sky and the ground, he hoped and prayed he'd run into one of them soon. Or at least someone who could point him in the right direction.

She was glad her mother and sister had finally repaired their relationship. Though it had taken quite a bit of effort and many, many meetings, it seemed things were finally taking a turn for the better. Though she knew Ciela and her mother still had a somewhat tense relationship, she was sure they were on their way to healthier, happier relationship.

Eliana still went on her usual wanderings every now and again, though she never strayed too far away from where she and her mother lived together, but for some reason her mother had been in a fickle mood. Rather than tiptoe around her mother for the rest of the morning, the winged mare had decided that she would take to the skies and see where she ended up from there. She had been soaring in the skies for a while before deciding it was time to take a rest, not even noticing the moving figure a good distance ahead of her.

With a chipper hum, Eliana gaze about the thinly wooded area to appreciate the quiet, calm that rested about the area. The white and yellow mare enjoyed moments like these, where the animals were hushed and the only noise that hit her fluffy ears was that of the wind rustling through the trees. Yes, it was truly a lovely place. She continued on before coming across a speckled unicorn and she gazed upon the stallion curiously. It was rare to find others out here so close to her home and Eliana could only c**k her head in question, her brows pulled down as she looked at him. "Oh, hello?" With dainty steps, the mare approached him, a warm, inviting smile on her face. "I'm surprised to see someone out here. These parts are usually quite quiet."

It wasn't long before a yellow and white form came into view and he cocked his head for a moment as he watched her watch him. It appeared to be that she wasn't accustomed to seeing him in the area, if she was from around here. He could never really tell with those that could fly. They had the world as their oyster and he only could get somewhere so fast. "Hello." He said back in return, he watched her curiously she seemed friendly which was nice. Despite his love for one with claws, he was still wary of them.

"I haven't been in this area in a long time now." He said with a smile in return. "I'm glad to see it's still quiet though." It was one of the reasons he had enjoyed this part of the lands so much. You never had to worry about things, but at the same time it was one of the reasons he had gone off on an adventure. Flicking his tail behind her he couldn't help but wonder if she knew where he could find Eliana or Ciela. Though he figured he could ask once he got to know this mare a little more. He found it slightly rude to ask for help with things without at least getting acquainted. "Are you from the area?" He figured that was a decent place to start, though he supposed giving her his name would be one thing. "I'm Eliot, sorry I didn't say it sooner." He said rather embarrassed about that, "What is your name, if you don't mind me asking."

It was comforting to see the stallion wasn't hostile, though most of his kind weren't based off of her own, rather limited, experience with unicorns. "Oh yes, it's been like this for as long as I can remember. I grew up not too far off from here." The mare turned her feathered head to look about the soothing scenery, a delighted hum singing from her throat. She was glad the stranger was easy to talk to, while she most likely seemed quite chatty to her counterpart, Eliana was usually terribly introverted and she couldn't help but find it odd how easy she found it to talk to the stallion.

She carefully waved off his apologies with her clawed appendage, a light laugh bubbling past her beak. "Oh no, no need to apologize. My name is Eliana, it's a pleasure to meet you. May I ask what you're doing out here?"

As she spoke he couldn't help but wonder, and then he felt his breath catch in his chest and his heart skip a beat and then speed up. 'My name is Eliana. Those words she spoke echoed through his mind like an empty canyon. The golden hues, the hippogryph genetics. There wasn't any way. Was there? Had he found one of his daughters so soon? His name hadn't rung a bell to her it seemed and he figured as much with how Miela acted when he came back. It was likely she hadn't told them anything about him. If she had at least she hadn't said his name.

He felt a lump in his throat and he suddenly found himself without words. She had asked a question. He could answer that. Swallowing he found his mouth suddenly dry and and did a nervous dance as he gazed towards her. "You see Eliana..." He paused, how do you come out right and just say, 'hey I'm your father.' "I'm out looking for my daughters." He didn't want to come right out and say it, he didn't want to sound like a madstallion or anything. He gave her the best smile he could, but something told him this was one of his daughters. He hoped it was true.

The mare looked on in innocent curiosity, the gentle smile that had found it way upon her features earlier into their conversation still as prevalent as ever. She hardly noticed any change in his behavior, not one to pay attention to such details, and she never could read the atmosphere in a room very well. With the pause finally broken by Elliot's words, the half-gryph could only feel a tinge of sympathy for the poor stallion.

"Oh... Oh I see." She had grown up without a father, her mother had made it clear that he was no one to bring up, as it stirred up many foul memories on her mothers part and often left the elder mare in the most sour of dispositions. Eliana had never been brave enough to continue pressing the matter and had simply settled with never knowing who her other parent was, where they had gone off to, or if they were even still alive. Perhaps she could help Elliot find the daughters he was looking for in a way to provide closure to a pair of girls who were as desperate as she had been for a visit or some sort of answer.

"Maybe I can help," a tone of determination entering her normally quite timid voice. "I'm sure they're looking for you just as you're looking for them! Do you know what they look like? How old they are? Their names maybe?" Eliana danced from hoof to hoof, rattling question after question. The more details she had the easier it would be to find his daughters after all. "I don't think there are many around this part and if they are out here, they must be tucked away somewhere private, you know? That's how my mother kept my sister and I safe as we were growing up."

Her willingness to help melted his heart and he was pleased to see her true nature in this unbiased approach. She had no clue he was her father and he had yet to confirm but something told him she was one of them. The name alone couldn't be coincidence. It just couldn't. "That is very nice of you." He said softly looking towards the ground. "I very much doubt they've been looking for me, though I do hope that once I find them they do not hate me." He said sadly looking at her. "You see, I did not know my love was pregnant when I left and I just recently found out I had children." He said to her, wondering how he could just tell her.

"They're grown by now." He said in response to their age. And he had their names, should he say it... Could he do it? So Miela had kept them all hidden, sounded like her. She had been a hard one to crack when he had first met her so stealing away to some secluded location was just like her. "I do have their names...." He had to do it.. He had to say it...

"Eliana and Ciela are the names of my daughters."

"Oh no you don't know that for sure... There's no way they can hate you- " She stopped as the unicorn continued on, her brows knitting at the sad tale. Surely he wasn't to blame. Though she could understand the mare being upset with her lover's departure, especially if it had been a more serious relationship, he hadn't known.

In some small show of comfort, she did her best to offer the stranger some kind words. "I think it's noble of you to search them out even after all this time. I mean, you could have just... stayed away and never come back for their mother or for them, but you did." Her golden eyes offered him a patient gaze and she waited as he continued on with his tale, offering answers to the questions she had posed. "Oh you do know their names? How lovely! That should help so much in trying to-"

She stopped midsentence, eyes widening in mild shock as the surprise slowly settled around her mind. No, no, she had heard him wrong. Wasn't that what had happened? This wasn't some story with a happy ending, she was just imagining things, wasn't she? Finding her own father had been so far removed from her own train of thought that now that it was happening, the poor creature didn't know how to react.

"I'm s-sorry, what were their names again?"

At least she found his efforts noble. It's not like he had left with the intentions of never coming back. He'd always been a wanderer, it was how he had met Miela to begin with. He just hadn't been done with his journey, but now he was. And of course he cared for Miela, he hadn't cared for anyone the way he did for her.

Watching her reaction he knew she was in shock. He gave a nod of his head and stayed where he stood. "Miela is the love that I spoke of. If that is your mother, as I suspected from our conversation, then you are one of my daughters." He said to her softly looking away when he finished. He didn't know what she was going to say and it was killing him. He wanted a family, he wanted this. He just didn't know how they would react.

Miela... her mom and he... They had....

Eliana's head spun as she tried to comprehend what was happening. He was her father. Elliot, the unicorn she had run into by chance of all things was the father she had never met. As a filly she had dreamed of this moment, had ached for it so intensely, but her mother had made sure to stomp out whatever hopes she had had as a young one. It didn't seem real, it wasn't possibly.... Could it be?

Overcome with too many emotions at once, Eliana could only stand in stunned silence, tears welling up to her eyes. She had always been a crybaby compared to Ciela. It didn't take much for the waterworks to spring forth, even the most tame of stories could get her to crack and cry like a a foal that had a run in with stinging nettles, but there she was already sobbing in front of her father.

Embarrassed by the display, the mare quickly brought one of her great wings forward, hiding her face behind the brightly colored plumage, sniffling all the while. How did she even explain what she was feeling right now? It was all so overwhelming and she was so happy and elated and... and just so many things. Where was she supposed to begin?

"Y-you're r-really my father? I just... I just don't..." She took a moment to collect herself, trying to gather her thoughts and keep her words from jumbling too much. "M-mother... she said, s-said that you wouldn't come b-back." A small hiccup escaped her as she processed everything, trying to stop her tears from falling and did her best to collect herself. "I had always d-dreamed you would come, I never thought I would a-actually meet you." Eliana took a shaky breath, offering the stranger-turned-father a shy smile. "I'm just s-so happy..."

The seconds ticked by like hours and he felt himself becoming smaller and smaller it seemed. He watched as she battled her thoughts and then began to cry and hid her face from him. He didn't know if this was good or bad and he just stood there like an idiot, unable to do anything. He didn't know what to do. Should he comfort her? Leave?

He wasn't any good at this apparently.

Finally she spoke again and it shattered the miserable silence that had been haunting him. "It's understandable that she told you that....." He said wishing she really hadn't, though how was she supposed to know he'd come back for sure. He could have died out there and the what. Still, she hadn't wanted to get their hopes up so he understood. "Maybe someday I'll tell you about why she did that." Maybe it would allow him to get her some closure as to why everything had happened like it had.

Moving forward he hoped it would be okay, he leaned his head atop of her own in a reassuring manner. "I'm sorry you had to know that sort of pain." It was true, he felt terrible for making them feel as though he had abandoned them all. "Can you ever forgive me?"

The tears passed at some point and the half-gryph let her wing fall away, still sniffling as she collected herself. Yes, she supposed she could understand why her mother had gone to the lengths that she had when trying to keep the existence of her father hidden, but she would have much rather known than be told nothing at all.

Eliana was shocked when she felt the light weight of her long lost father's head resting against her own and she instinctively moved into the show of comfort, closing her eyes and relaxing against the sturdy frame beside her. With another sniffle, the mare could only let out a quaint laugh. "You have always been forgiven, father. I never blamed you."

Carefully, Eliana pulled her feathered crown away to get a better look at the man that had come back into her life. She certainly resembled Eliot in terms of coloring. Her mother was dull compared to her own striking tones of yellow and white, and Eliana had often wondered where the coloring had come from, but seeing her father before her made it all make sense.

"I'm so happy you've come back! N-not that I knew you were gone, b-but... it's just, well... Because mother never- She just didn't..." She stopped herself, embarrassed by the awkward ramble she had started on and quickly shook her head and started over as best she could. "I'd love to hear your stories from your travels. I'm sure you saw so many wonderful things!"

I think this is a wrap! smile You can probably post once more.

He almost started crying at her words but instead he let out a much needed sigh and hugged her tighter. This, this is what has been missing from his life.

Family.

He knew now that his travels hadn't been to find things in the great beyond but to discover that all he needed was here in front of him. And he had been a fool. A damned fool.

He gazed at her as she stepped back and he couldn't help but see so much of himself and Miela in her. He wanted so much to see his other daughter, but at the same time he was just as afraid. What if she didn't forgive him?

He shook his head. He could worry about that later.

He smile at her and motioned with his head for her to follow. "Come, we can walk and talk and I can fill you in on my travels." He said to her with a happy smile as he though of what he'd tell her first of his travels.

This was such a cute RP ;u; I'm glad Eliana and Eliot reunited. Now she'll get to hear of all of his adventures.

Eliana couldn't fault her mother for telling her daughters that their father was some rogue stallion that they would never see again, but Eliana was glad she hadn't believed her mother's words, especially in the moment presented before her. A long-lost father finally returning to his family, two daughters that would rejoice the reunion... or, at least she most certainly did. Yes, it all felt like a dream to her, but the tender hug she shared with the stallion only further confirmed that what was happening was real.

She returned his smile, offering one of her own, one of patience and understanding. The mare gave a nod of her feathered head and walked with her father, eyes shining as she prepared to ask all the questions she could to make up for lost time. There was so much to hear and so much to tell.
