9 - You've found a way out, but it's blocked by an obstacle. Take five damage and escape, or turn around and try again! Zac Bantock: 25/25 – a way out!!! Wow!!! He took her hand and ran, He kept looking back to her as though he hoped not only would see her there, but that Autumn would follow. If the news was success or otherwise it didn’t matter, he needed solid ground, and he needed too to be solid for Isobel, who was so new, if she was like the flowers in her hair she’d be a rose bud, and god help him he’d be one of the thorns to protect her. Thorne, he didn’t see him ahead of him, or Jamie either. Separated already, he cursed softly for it. “Alright… stay close alright? I don’t want you to get lost here all right? If you hear anyone let me know, we might be able to help, but I don’t know.” Was something chasing them? He had no idea, they had no fetch, but there were enough other beings around that he wasn’t sure they could be safe believing that nothing was out for their blood. “OH! There!” He pointed ahead of them, could he see the rain ahead? He thought he could smell it; it was half blocked by, rubble, like this corner of the beautiful palace had been subjected to age and time where the rest of it stood, like the cage. Maybe that was true too, maybe it was built on the lives they ruined he thought, and it was a bitter twist in his gut. “Be careful, some of this looks sharp, skinned hands and knees and that..” he warned her. He’d give her his shirt if needed; he didn’t have his over the shoulder bag with its medical things. God, he should make her one… umbrella, food, band aids. All that blood…. God…all that blood. shibrogane Designated roller zac found his dice luck Ephebe Tiny RP! – Your gender fluid Knight in …feathers.

Isobel Penrose || 20/25 HP || not the best climber "Okay," she nodded, determined to do her best to be helpful. If that meant keeping an ear open, that was what she'd do. The night had been overwhelming in its intensity, but there was no time for rest now; things had gone pear-shaped, and they needed to get out of here. Dimly, she hoped the other people left behind in the silver hall would be able to make it out as well, even if her stomach rebelled when she thought back to the hall. Gods, the gore... things she'd never thought she'd have to see, tainting what had been a magical night for her. Now, well, she was a good bit disillusioned - magic was still amazing, but there was something wrong with the people who had it - not the other humans, but the hosts... how did someone with such fantastical gifts get so twisted? She didn't understand. There were so many things tonight she just didn't understand. At Zac's exclamation she was forced back to the moment; embarrassed, she realised she'd been lost in thoughts and hadn't kept an ear out at all. Hopefully no-one had called for help in her inattention. "If skinned knees is the worst that happens to me this night, it'll probably be okay," she gave him a small, miserable smile. Things were catching up to her. "Here I go," bunching up her voluminous skirt as best she could, she started climbing over the rubble in their way, slowly and laboriously. Halfway over what looked to be the sorry remains of a once grand column, she huffed and looked back to Zac; "you don't, um, have a knife or anything? This skirt is really not--" the look of surprise could be tracked as it appeared on her face as her foot stepped in a bit of skirt that'd fallen to its full length. There was a long, awkward moment of flailing and then she went tumbling off the broken column, down on the rubble beside it with a wordless exclamation.

Zac Bantock - 20/25 - he's beauty he is grace... he just landed on his face. “Isobel!” He said in no small alarm. His charge after her, and the wordless cry she had uttered was nothing short of utterly heedless of his own personal safety. Not that he was actively seeking harm but the rubble seemed to have other ideas. He paused for a moment to stare down at her, trying to assess the situation. The piece of stone he was standing on gave way, and he was tumbling top over teacups after her, landing with bloodied hands and elbows in the dirt and grit beside her… but at least. At least it was sunrise, and it was NOT raining. “Are you alright?” he said after a moment, palms stinging as he stared up into the clear skies over head. “… Um… so, yeah, that was uh, that was the other side of this crazy town. Magic is real and uh, at least a good portion of it wants to kill us.

Isobel Penrose || 20/25 HP || contemplating life "I... think so?" Her hands and knees were stinging, and there was a rift on her arm bleeding sluggishly, but all in all nothing too concerning - at least not considering the other injuries she'd seen tonight. She blinked dully at him; "are you okay?" At his words she snorted ungracefully, clambering up on her knees to give him a wonky smile; "sounds just about amazing." She would probably feel more disappointed after a good night's sleep; right now she was just having trouble processing all her emotions. A cup of tea and a good cuddle with Nibbs would definitely help. "So... it's always like this?" Gesturing with a hand, "always unhappy? Because I thought magic would be more wondrous, more... joyful." It had been, for most of the night, but then things had gone pear shaped in the most spectacular way and honestly, she wasn't sure she'd be able to look back on the earlier adventures with quite the same joy anymore.

Zac Bantock - 20/25 - Solving the worlds troubles with Pancakes “I’m… Yeah I’m good.” He said trying to at least sounddignified though he was absolutely not feeling it. “Um… yeah, yeah it’s pretty much been kind of give and take with this …magical otherworld, and um, it seeps into ours as well.” He admitted. “You may find that there are like, little quirky things that start happening –here-.” He shrugged and sat up, wincing at a skinned palm. “Ow…” He hissed at it. “But, yes I’ve um, I’ve come out of encounters way worse off than this.” He sighed and glanced at her, the wonder of magic now tainted, that bit of innocence now lost. “… How do you, um, how do you feel about WaffleHouse?” Did he want to eat? God no… but the idea of a warm place, the smelled of sweet pastry and syrup, hot grease and just… people, real, actual people. That, that he could absolutely go for right now.

Isobel Penrose || 20/25 HP || pancakes really do solve everything He didn't sound good, but he didn't sound mortally wounded either and there wasn't much they could do about minor scruffles right now, so she let it pass and resolved to get both of their scrapes cleaned before they parted. "Well... at least magic exists," as long as that was true, there was still some reason to celebrate, even if it was less in the light of recent events. Sighing, she clambered up as best she could and held out a hand to help him up; "WaffleHouse sounds like actual heaven just about now, honestly. And about a million-trillion times better than this place anyhow."

Zac Bantock: 20/25 - magic is subjective “Waffle house, the real magic, includes coffee refills and fake-syrup.” He nodded “And I don’t even really care for coffee, but right now…” He sighed. And took her hand, admitting he needed help. “… I hope, I hope other people have the same idea. I hope everyone…else, makes it out okay.”
