User ImageHadrian was not like most of the other Freshlings in his class. He knew exactly what he wanted to be when he grew up. This Goblin kid wanted to be a Rock Star. Yes, complete with capital letters. He wanted to be famous, and he wanted to rock out with his guitar. It was even about making money because really how many kids think about making money? He just wanted everyone to know his name, and yeah he wanted the fans.

But mostly, he wanted to make music. He wanted to write his own songs and play them for thousands of people. He wanted to write songs that other Nightmares and Daydreams could relate to, songs that could maybe help someone out if they were feeling sad. Songs that could be used to celebrate. He figured that when he was older, he would probably want to write love songs too. But for now girls still had cooties and he didn't want much to do with them.

Hadrian leaned back in his chair and grinned to himself as he thought about what his future could be like. Him, on stage, the lights shining on him while he jams out on his guitar. He could already hear the music in his head as he closed his eyes, his clawed fingers playing an invisible guitar made of air.

His day dream was interrupted when a particularly energetic (and still imaginary) flourish sent him falling backward in his chair, hitting the floor with an "Oof!!" and followed by an "Owwwww." The young Goblin rubbed the back of his head as he sat up. He grumbled to himself as he picked the chair up, glad that no one had been around to witness his fall.

Right! Time to actually get his homework done. He stared at the paper and heaved a sigh. Why did it have to be an essay? Even a short essay. He hated essays. But he still had to write it. With another sigh and the kind of groan that only kids can make when faced with school work they don't want to do, Hadrian got to work.

When I grow up, I want to be a musician. But not just any musician. I want to be a rock star. I want to play music in front of lots of Nightmares and Daydreams and I want to be famous. I want to write my own songs and to rock out with other musicians. I want to have lots of friends who love music as much as I do. And maybe have concerts with my friends! That would be a lot of fun. I would want to be able to play music every day because it's already a big part of my life and something I love to do.

Okay, so essay might have been misleading. But he was finished and now he could grab his guitar and practice. After all, how would he ever get to be a rock star if he never practiced?
