Somehow, this one lonely post-it note had survived for a full week on the wall of this building.

Something about the fact that this note was still standing gave Lt. Paracelsian a warm fuzzy. Those post-it notes felt like his children sometimes. His strange, fleeting, meme-bearing children. A curious change had occurred, though; someone had written a response on the note! How serendipitous!

More accurately, someone had edited the note's content. The original text read, "You're gonna have a bad time beyond this point." Someone had replaced the "bad" with "good" and put a winky face next to it. Very strange.

Humming a jaunty tune to himself, he pulled his customary pack of post-its out of his pocket and a pen and began to write a new note. "You're not getting a second room key."

Context? Who needed that?

And who needed to pay attention to that oncoming Order aura?

Something about the post-it note's survival fills you with determination- okay I just needed to get that out of my system.

Sailor Kari wasn’t a hero. That much was becoming more and more clear to her the more and more she ventured out pretending that she was one. But then again, sometimes she did try…even when trying meant she ended up looking like a complete and total loser, like what was most likely going to happen now, as she approached the chaos aura that she felt nearby.

As she drew closer though, she realized that she knew this Negaverse Agent…in fact…she had let him drain her energy to spare some nasty civilian.

He had a strange name though…

“Um…Parabola? Hi. It’s me. Sailor Kari…I uh…hope you’ve been well?”

Part of her was quite sure that he would not remember her, and honestly…that part was quite happy with that suspicion, thank you very much…but then again, part of her wanted him to remember how noble she had been, and perhaps…

Well. Perhaps not. Maybe she would be lucky and he would have forgotten. She really was as far from a hero as it was possible to be.

How depressing.

It took a few moments for the voice to register as familiar, but when it did, Paracelsian looked up from his sticky note. It wasn't visible behind his face mask, but he couldn't help but smile at the return of this generous senshi. "You're close, but not quite," he said. "It's Paracelsian. Para will do if you get stuck." He put the post-it note up next to the first one on the wall, then slid his pen back into his pocket.

"I've been well enough. Busy, but otherwise fine. How about you? Were you able to make it home all right after our last encounter?" From the outside, a Negaverse Lieutenant expressing concern for a senshi might have raised a few red flags, but as far as Paracelsian was concerned, a little honey was going to do better to catch these flies than vinegar would. Though a request for her to donate itched on his tongue, he made himself be patient. Asking right off the bat could cause problems.

Kari moved closer to the lieutenant, squinting at the small square of paper he stuck to the wall. “Paracelsian, then. What are you doing? Paper graffiti? Littering? And here I thought the Negaverse really was full of Big Bads…not petty misdemeanor-ers.”

She couldn’t stop the little smile that crossed her face when he asked if she had made it home all right…that was nice. Really nice. “Oh, yeah I made it home fine. I mean, I’m here now so nothing too catastrophic could have happened to me, right?” The senshi tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, almost coyly. “And I felt just fine the next day, so that was good too. I uh.”

She paused, shrugging. “If you promise again not to hurt any civilians tonight…I suppose you could take my energy again. That would be fine.”

Yeah sure. Perfectly fine. He did remember what she had done, and not only that, he seemed perfectly polite about it, not slamming it in her face or anything…so why shouldn’t she just continue this dance with him? It was doing her part. She was protecting the innocent. That was all there was to it.

Paracelsian gave one short, sharp chuckle. "It's not littering. It's... wall posting. You know, like you do on Facebook, except on an actual wall." It made sense enough to him. Whatever he was doing, it wasn't littering. It was spreading communication! Or something. "I'm a Lieutenant, Kari. By definition, I'm not a Big Bad. I'm literally a grunt. Could I become a Big Bad someday? Well..." He paused for a moment, mulling over the implications of growing evil with power. It would certainly be a twist on him, but he simply couldn't foresee himself ever becoming genuinely evil. He shook his head. "I'd like to think not."

"I'm glad you recovered well," Paracelsian said. When Kari offered to donate again, his eyes widened slightly in surprise. That was quick, and he barely needed to extend any lures. "I can promise that," he said with a nod. "If what you gave me last time was any indication, I might even meet my quota and not have to bother anyone else for the rest of the week." There was that perk for her, and for him the perk of a few days off. "Give me your hand. I'll be more careful this time."

Well…that was something…he wasn’t a big bad, just a grunt…she could deal with grunts, yeah. Kari nodded, giving a small smile and holding her hand out to the lieutenant. “You really think you can take enough from me so you don’t have to take any more for the rest of the week? Go ahead then! I don’t care, if it saves other people from being drained…that’s what I really care about.”

She wanted to do this job justice. She wanted to be a hero and live up to her name as a senshi…she wanted to be a protector of the people, and since she was a s**t fighter…giving her energy was the best thing that she could do. “Just take what you need, Paracelsian. I don’t care if I go home exhausted.”

…So long as she went home. That was what mattered.

Paracelsian made a small affirmative noise, then paused thoughtfully. "You really take your responsibilities seriously, don't you?" He scratched at his mask. "I think your willingness to donate to protect others speaks volumes about you. Charity is a virtue, after all." Slowly, he placed his hand on Kari's shoulder. "You may very well be doing better for Order than the ones who hunt Chaos." His eyes closed for a moment as he focused, and he began to draw out her energy. "Let me know when you start to feel it, and I'll stop." Carefully, his gaze switched betweem the wad of energy forming and Kari herself, mostly to make sure she could still stand.

She felt the energy leaving her almost as soon as it started, and she was pretty sure that it was only because she was waiting for the feeling, but a small sigh escaped her lips and her eyes glanced over at the ball of energy that the lieutenant was pulling from her.

“…Have you ever killed anyone by taking their energy? That’s a thing that’s possible, isn’t it?” The ball was growing bigger and Kari was starting to feel rather tired, either that or watching her energy build up like that was causing her eyelids to feel heavy.

“It doesn’t hurt though. I guess it could be easy to just fall asleep and let you drain too much…I think I’m pretty close to the edge of my comfort zone though, if you wouldn’t mind stopping now…”

She felt as though she hadn’t slept in about a week and had run a few marathons.

…Would this get easier?

"Hmm." Paracelsian mulled over the question briefly. "Actually, I'm not entirely sure if it's possible. I can assure you that I haven't drained anyone to death if it is possible, though." At the senshi's request to stop, he made an affirmative noise and halted the draining process. "Done. Thank you for your contribution." He put the energy ball into his subspace pocket, but did not release his hold on Kari. He was afraid she'd fall over if he let go. "Are you all right to go on, or would you like me to support you for a bit?" He didn't mind the idea of walking her elsewhere, but he was aware of the possible consequences of going to far with her.

“I’m sure I can manage, just…” Kari rested against him for a moment, drawing in deep breaths. This wasn’t so bad…right? Right. It was her duty, it was all she really could do.

Finally the senshi pulled away and hesitantly made sure that she could stand, unsupported. When the world didn’t spin too badly, she smiled at the lieutenant. “I think I’m going to be okay, no worries. When…when will you need more energy? I’ll be happy to keep supplying you, if you keep promising me you’ll not drain any more civilians…ever.”

She gave him a look and sighed. “I can meet you as often as you’d like, I really don’t mind. I feel like…this is really all I can do, so please, let me do it.”

Paracelsian's eyes may have gone a bit wide when Kari rested against him. The contact was somewhat unexpected, and there may have been a slight tingle in his mind at that moment. It was a silly notion to think that she was leaning on him for anything more than support, but for a moment, his mind went there. He was able to shake it off in time to answer Kari's questions. "If you say so. As for my next energy round... next week at this time would be ideal. But if you need to rest more, another day or so later is fine."

He nodded thoughtfully, deciding that honesty was the best policy. "I will do my best to avoid draining civilians. However, if a superior commands it, there isn't much I can do. I am just a Lieutenant after all." He paused, then added, "You really are a noble spirit. Thank you for your contributions. I feel like, if the other senshi were like you, we could reach a compromise."
