Hyperborea wrestled the youma to the ground as she wrapped her thin but powerful arms around the monster's throat squeezing as hard as she could. She held the choke hold until the creature was nothing but dust. She stood up and dusted herself off she noticed she was bleeding from some scratches on her arm where the youma had gotten her with it's claws. They were nothing serious so she ignored it figuring she could ask Winterlynn to help patch her up when she went home.
She suddenly noticed a nearby aura of a knight, an Earth Squire. She had been so busy with her fight that she hadn't noticed the aura appear. She didn't sense any more youma in the area so she figured she would go meet this knight.
After a bit of walking she found the man in question, he looked vaguely familiar but Hyperborea couldn't put her finger on why. "Bonsoir!" She called out to the man. "How goes the night?" Kyuseisha no Hikari Here's a start let me know if I need to change any thing

Newgrange had been minding his own business--in a sense. He'd sensed the energy signature of a nearby Knight and thought he'd heard the signs of a scuffle. It was hard to tell when you out in the park; for all he knew it might have been a cat in a dumpster.
He had been on his way to investigate when a Knight suddenly appeared; he blinked at hear appearance, mostly surprised by the blood on her arm. "Fine, for me," he replied quickly; his eyes flickered to her face. "Yours?" He didn't fully wait for an answer and gestured to her arm. "Are you all right?"
There wasn't much that he could do; he had no healing abilities, but he had a few clothes that he could at least try to manage an injury if it was severe enough. She might have been a stronger rank than him, but Newgrange figured he must have been older--and it was just in his nature to worry about people. He coudln't look at someone out in this war, younger than him and fighting, without thinking of his sister.

"Huh? Oh this..." She looked at her arms. "I'm fine they're just scratches, I just finished dusting a rather uncooperative yoma." She said with a laugh to brush off her injury. She took a second to wipe away the blood.
"I'm Hyperborea, transcendent knight of the Cosmos. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said with a friendly smile as she offered her hand to the squire.

Newgrange eyed the injuries for a second longer and then nodded. He took her hand and gave it a shake. “Newgrange,” he introduced pleasantly enough. “The pleasure is all mine.”
He took a moment to eye the Transcendence marks and then cleared his throat and apologized. “Sorry, I still haven’t gotten used to seeing things like that. Do you mind...if I pry?”
She wasn't the first person he’d met to wear those markings.
“About how those happened?”

"Newgrange?" The name sounded familiar, Hyperborea tried to place it when it suddenly clicked where she had heard it. "Oh I know your sister, she speaks very highly of you." She said happy that she remembered.
"Oh these, well it happened on my wonder the night I became a knight. I discovered a miasma polluting my wonder and blocking some of the flow of its magic so I used my code piece to burn it all away."
"When I did that I felt like I had become one with the entirety of my wonder and when I pulled away I had these transcendence markings on my body." She explained.

Newgrange had a split second of confusion and panic before things settled in. He knew Elvira was powering up without him, but he couldn’t help but worry a little extra about her.
She was his little sister; he had an obligation to protect her.
Still, it was reassuring if she was making friends--apparently powerful ones, too.
He tried to distract himself from asking a dozen questions about how Elvira had been and how well the two knew each other by focusing on Hyberporea’s Transcendence. He nodded, thinking of Whisler’s marks, and wondering what he had done to earn them.
“Do they do anything?” he asked, somewhat hesitantly. “Or are they just symbolic of the bond you have with your Wonder?”

"Ah well to begin with my starseed is completely protected from corruption and from being pulled. The last time an agent of chaos tried to pull it she got blasted back by an invisible force." She explained.
"I can also share my energy with someone else to speed up their healing or to reinvigorate them by touching them like this." She said as she lightly touched his shoulder and channeled a bit of her energy into the squire.
"Finally if I go back to my wonder I can heal my wounds alot faster than I can here on Earth." She finished her explanation.

Newgrange seemed thoughtful and nodded. Being protected by Chaos sounded like a good thing--especially considering how badly Nick had been considering it not so long ago. Though it must have been a little selfish that Newgrange was happy to know that Whisler would not rejoin the Negaverse, he was relieved to know that Whisler had that little bit of extra protection.
The other perks sounded interesting and Newgrange nodded attentively as she spoke. When she channeled the energy, he seemed surprised. "All of those things sound amazing. Did it cost you anything?” he asked, wondering what Whisler must have done to earn his Transcendence--wondering if he’d had to give anything up for it.
Obviously she had to work with it, judging from the story, but he couldn't help but wonder--and hope--that maybe this was just a blessing from her Wonder.

"Well I did almost die getting it, well maybe die isn't the right word. I almost lost myself to the cosmos, my mind probably would have burned if I hadn't been dragged back by an oath I had made before." She said reflexively touching the area around her left eye and her oath mark.
"Oh and if I don't go to my wonder regularly I get sick now. My marks lose some of their glow and I feel terrible." She said remembering the one time she had spent a significant time away from her wonder and how awful she had felt after it.
"But really all of that was worth it for what I got in exchange." She said brightly.

Newgrange tilted his head to the side, allowing a few seconds to glance at her eye. He seemed thoughtful, taking her words to heart, and nodded. "It's just strange," he said after a moment.
"That a place so far away can have so much power to give. Truth be told," he shrugged and stretched a bit. "I've been neglecting my homeworld and I know I need to get on that. A part of me wants more power, so I can do more? But a part of me...I don't know. It's more responsibility. I don't even know if I deserve it. I'm sure the past Newgranges were far more worthy of the mantle than I am."
He didn't seem entirely downtrodden, but it was an odd subject all the same.
"I wish I knew more about them. The other Knights. My only source of information is a bit...unhelpful. Not very forthcoming with information. But I've been planning to give him a peace offering, I only...struggle to know how to reach to him. Transcendence seems a bit out of my reach with the way things are."
Not that he was certain it was a path he cared to take anyway, but everything was worth considering.

"I'm sure you are more than worthy enough, the code is not stupid after all. It wouldn't make someone a knight without thinking they had what it takes to protect their wonder." She said with a friendly smile.
"Don't feel so bad, I think most ancestor's take a while to take to their descendants. My own ancestor refused to even acknowledge that I'm not a boy since no Hyperborea before me was a girl." She said with a bit of a laugh remembering it. "And even after that he never called me by my proper name of Hyperborea until I was raised up to full knighthood. But now we train together every weekend and he has taught me so much about the glorious past of my wonder."
"Also no one knows that they will transcend, at least no one I have met who was gifted with it. When I was a page and a squire it seemed like an impossible goal, that could only be reached by other people, yet here I stand today glowing from head to toes." She said with a comforting smile.

Newgrange seemed to keep many of this thoughts to himself but nodded somewhat absentmindedly. He had never been the sort that was obsessed with power or prestige; he had simply trusted in himself and his abilities. Still, there was a limit to what he could do here, in Destiny City. He couldn't really find a way to train like others did; he didn't have a weapon that could help him, so his skills mostly relied on him using the environment--or himself--as a weapon.
"I suppose!" he agreed, wearing a small smile. "I'd like to better serve my wonder, but I don't know if Transcending is something I'd need to do it. "
He scratched his chin and let out a long sigh.
"I need to spend more time at my Homeworld, and learn more about it. And about what type of Knight I'm supposed to be." He sighed, somewhat wistfully. "Sometimes I think this anxiety about my Ancestor is pointless. But if I anger him, I might never know all the secrets about my Wonder. I'd bring him an offering, but...what do you give a ghost?"
