Calomel just couldn't get over how some of her students could be such assholes. They didn't seem to understand what kind of environment they were in, nor did they understand exactly what kind of class she TAUGHT. They still desired to run their little mouths and work towards getting under her skin. And sure, they managed to, but SHE was the teacher. And even more so, she was the ROTC Teacher. She had the power to manipulate them exactly how she wanted.
And in this case, it was keeping the little assholes after school and making them run laps.
Twenty laps.
While she DID derive a certain pleasure seeing the mouthy teens in her class run until their legs burn, there was a downside to it all. The biggest one being the fact that now SHE was leaving the school a couple of hours later than she wanted.
Calomel had planned out her entire evening; Go home, make dinner, do laundry, grade some papers, then go out and hit her energy quota for the evening, before coming back home and vegging out in front of the TV for a few hours until bedtime. Now that was all off... After thinking for a few minutes, she decided to change things up. First, she'd get her energy, THEN she'd stop somewhere and get take out for dinner. That would give her back atleast a little bit of time for her day. If she even decided to just not do laundry, she could veg out even more. And of course vegging out was the priority. She deserved to rest as much as anyone else.
After leaving the campus, she headed to her preferred draining spot, a nice little spot out near the little gardens a few blocks from her home. Sad souls seemed to gather there more often than not. And with a simple sitting down and chatting with them, she always seemed to be able to touch a shoulder, or pat a hand, gathering just enough energy to knock them out. Once she deemed them still safe, she'd wander away. No harm, no foul. Nothing dirty on her hands and her job done. A menial task, but such was life.
She ever so vaguely wondered who her victim would be tonight, though the word victim sounded so awful on her tongue. Maybe she should say participant. Or maybe volunteer.

After two cups of the Caramel Falls drink, and one of Rousseau’s Key Lime pie shots, Kayden had stumbled out of the North Star Tavern, fully intent on heading back to Anella’s place and climbing into bed.
Now, if she had any sense and hadn’t been quite so…drunk, she would have seen the merit in calling Anella and getting picked up from the bar instead of trying to walk, but. But. Such sense didn’t come to someone warm and happy from alcohol. No indeed. The only bad part of being drunk, the really bad part about it…was that the feeling couldn’t last. If she could feel like this all the time…why, it would be great.
She was actually smiling, a little. There was still the hard ball of sadness deep in her chest, but it was much less daunting when her mind was so muddled with drink. If she could just make it home and get to sleep before all of the drunkenness wore off…that would be perfect.
Sadly though, after walking for about fifteen minutes…Kayden was quite sure that she had no idea where she was. Another side effect of drinking. There was someone near her though, just a few steps away, and the brunette gave a slightly relieved sigh. Maybe she could get some directions back to Anella’s place. “Excuse me, I think I’ve gotten myself quite turned around. Could you help me?”

Oh... What a lovely turn of events. Someone must have been wishing Calomel a great night since a target easily stumbled into her view. The young Negaverse lieutenant put on her kindest expression and turned around to face the woman who had come up behind her. She looked a little more than drunk, and even with her draining task to complete Calomel felt compelled to be kind...
"Sure thing, Miss... You really shouldn't be out here and wandering about in that state... I'll be happy to take you where you need to go." A young woman her age really shouldn't be out and about in the dark like she was... Yes, there was the dangers of youmas and and unkind Negaversers, but even worse so there were the men who would take advantage of unsuspecting women. She may steal the young woman's energy, but she was NOT about to see her hurt.
"You do not look too steady on your feet. May I take your arm?"

Kayden blinked several times, trying to really put the woman before her into better focus...but that was proving to be much more difficult than she has first anticipated. "I...suppose that would be acceptable..."
The woman held her arm out, and though she thought she was offering it gently, the darn thing ended up flailing like a chicken wing. "Oh. I apologize, I'm finding my limbs to be quite unruly right now...if you want to just grab it, that would be fine...I think."
This lady looked fancy. Like she had been at some sort of opera or something...she even had one of those...animal fur scarves around her neck. Perhaps she was lost or thought it was colder than it actually was.
"Your outfit is interesting...are you an interesting person, perhaps. I am a very drunk person right about now. I do apologize for my behavior..." It wasn't that she liked being absolutely wasted, but sometimes....it was necessary...tonight was one of those sometimes.

A soft chuckle came from Calomel as she gently put Kayden's arm over her shoulder and slipping her own about her waist. It certainly was a lucky thing that She managed to find the drunk woman before anyone else had, or anything.
"Am I interesting? You could say that, though it would be silly of me to judge myself on that matter. And no worries, dear, that's what being drunk does to you. May I have your address so that I may escort you home?" If she could manage to do that, manage to guide the woman safely home and into her house, she could drained her with ease and make sure she's home safe. It wouldn't be too hard to imagine someone passing out drunk and someone else escorting her home as a 'good Samaritan'.
"What on earth possessed you to walk home alone drunk?"

Kayden mumbled Anellas address to Calomel and leaned into the arms of the lieutenant, allowing her to take control of where they were going. “It’s not…I mean I thought it would be better to walk home drunk rather than drive home drunk…not that I have a car with me, but still…It was a good thought process. Though I suppose I could have called a cab or an…Uber? But I suppose all of my money went towards the drinks so…”
She stumbled a bit and sighed. “I just really want to sleep tonight…and I thought that the drinks would help. I’m sure I’ll sleep but I’m sure all of the nightmares will follow so, what’s the point anyway.” The woman fell quiet and sighed, thinking of how fun going out drinking had been back home, how she never ended up getting this…out of it with her drinking…and how she would never have thought about drinking alone, and how she would have called a cab at once to get herself home.
America was just a place that she didn’t follow any of her rules…and it was causing her to become a mess.
At least she didn’t have any reputation to uphold here, not like at home…but still.
