ABILITIES&WEAPONS
(Please keep in mind that Zalto and Ethe are more toward the spectrum of Good and Light, while Bellris and Phoebos are more toward the spectrum of Evil and Darkness.

Ability:
• Divine Empowerment: It is believed by many that Arielle has been gifted by the God Zedekiah with unmatched power in order for her to ensure justice, honor and the law (perhaps even acquiring royalty status to do so). In reality, this ability of hers grants any weapon she is using at the time sacred power, the kind that can dispel and/or destroy those who are or use darkness. To obtain this power, she offers a prayer to Zedekiah as she holds the weapon in front of her. Unfortunately, this is perhaps the biggest drawback to this power since she needs to invoke it through a prayer. Not only does require time to invoke the power (1 post for the prayer), she needs to be deemed worthy of this power and has to be holding an item (Ex. Her sword). To not be deemed worthy would mean that she has committed a sin against Zedekiah.

SECRETS

Bio:

A knight of Lionis and a peasant baker met at a local bakery as the knight was picking up loaves of bread upon request from the former captain of the guards. The moment their eyes locked and their hands touched each other’s’ briefly as they exchanged bread and coin, it was love at first sight. Only a year passed between them before they were married and living together happily, but what could be better than two people in love? Two people in love with a bundle of joy they can claim as their child. That is exactly what they got and the child was named Arielle. Like most parents, they knew that their child was special, although they didn’t think a visit at the temple of Zedekiah in Maude would change their interpretation of what it meant to have a special child.

As the lovely couple (and baby Arielle safely tucked within her mother’s arms) prayed to Zedekiah, an acolyte approached them and told them, “Thy child has received Zedekiah’s blessing”. The couple didn’t get the chance to ask what the acolyte meant by that, but from that point on they truly treated Arielle like a precious gem. The baby grew up healthy and happily while showing off certain traits she possessed from her parents, such as her father’s skill with a sword and natural born leadership along with her mother’s beauty and kindness. Despite her happiness with her own family, her interactions with other children were not quite as successful. It wasn’t as if she were shy in front of the other children or they weren’t cruel towards her. She just never enjoyed idled conversation and did what she could to avoid them. Well, perhaps she also scared some of kids because of the serious look she always had on her face.

Overall she didn’t make that much of an impression and was left alone for the most part. The Winter Ball event occurred when Arielle was a teenager. Her father was one of the casualties during the mass prison breakout and her mother succumbed to the plague. The only two people that ever gave Arielle happiness were now dead and she was left all alone. What helped her cope with their deaths was the sword her father had forged for her and the violin that her mother bought for her. In honor of their memory, she named these gifts after her parents. As a result of the casualties caused by the mass prison breakout, Lionis needed more guards to protect it. Arielle saw this as her chance to do something that will make her mother and father proud so she decided to become a knight for Lionis. The test itself to become a knight wasn’t challenging for her given the training she had with her father, but one of her greatest accomplishments was yet to come.

Since she was one of the rookie knights and a woman, she was the who received harsher treatment from the other more experienced knights. However, time and time again she has proven her loyalty, courage and skills as a guard through many feats she accomplished mostly on her own, including defeating several monsters at once and proving the previous captain of the guards as a traitor. As a result, she was promoted as the new captain of Lionis and the first thing she did was get rid of the guards she knew were traitors and hired new guards who were willing to undergo her harsh training. Throughout her career so far as captain of the guards in Lionis, she has gained a reputation as a cold hearted woman who is willing to do whatever it takes to uphold the law along with her being blessed by Zedekiah. Some have even spread rumors that she would become the next emperor of Lionis and lead the kingdom to everlasting prosperity. Those sort of rumors hasn’t affected Arielle whatsoever. All she cares about is protecting the citizens of Lionis and never forgetting the values her parents taught her.

I don't quite understand the ability, what does it do? I read that it dispels darkness, but does it injure those who use darkness, or is it like a light that comes from the weapon, or does the weapon that is blessed by Zedekiah tell her if someone is guilty of what they're accused of? I'm just getting a very mixed vibes from it.

I read that it dispels darkness, but does it injure those who use darkness, or is it like a light that comes from the weapon, or does the weapon that is blessed by Zedekiah tell her if someone is guilty of what they're accused of? I'm just getting a very mixed vibes from it.


Divine Empowerment

I was basing it off the link above but I tried tweaking it so it doesn't seem overpowering. The basic thought process I had about this ability is that this divine empowerment would allow her to combat darkness, such as dispelling it or killing those who use darkness as a weapon. Even if she weren't fighting those who use darkness, this would give her a boost in her natural fighting talent (being stronger and faster) to be of greater challenge to her opponents...I just wasn't sure how to say that without seeming overpowering. Hopefully I cleared up the confusion. ^^
