ABILITIES&WEAPONS

Ability:Descent into Fear - Kyran releases a strange, lavender-like scent that can cause people to become drowsy or to even fall asleep within a 10 foot radius. The sleep will only last from 10 minutes to 6 hours. This sleep can cause any sot of sleep, whether it be no dreams, happy and childish dreams, or terrifying nightmares that make people scream. Consequence: This ability can easily be avoided if one covers their nose or if they cannot smell very well. Also, while using this ability, Kyran cannot defend himself at all as he needs to concentrate on holding back his power. Kyran cannot control who he puts to sleep if he is in a room with multiple people very well. If one were to interrupt and subdue him, he cannot use his ability. Furthermore, Kyran will fall asleep after using the power for about half the amount the time as he puts people to sleep. Finally, Kyran has no control on what dreams he actually inflicts onto others. His emotions dictate what dreams he inflicts onto others.

SECRETS

- Kyran cannot control his power (Descent into Fear) very well and doesn't wish harm on others. Most of his energy is spent on controlling his power, making Kyran constantly sleepy and weak. This is how it is assumed he has a case of narcolepsy. The power is eating him slowly, causing Kyran to slowly die. If he continues to not use his power, he'll most likely last for only another decade.
- When he dreams, he always has repeating nightmares of his greatest fears- causing Kyran to become moody and almost empty from having to dream night after night about him being a monster.
- It could be assumed that Kyran had a unhealthy admiration for his father, heavily influenced by his mother's infatuation with the King. Kyran has yet to realize his misguided respect. Kyran would have followed his father's orders and directions without question. Now, Kyran has lost a large portion of what Kyran deemed to be the point of living.

Bio: The youngest prince of Phobos was born from a dancer, named Calilien, for the King- a gift from the people. Calilien is a talented young dancer who served King for about two and a half years. Over time, she became infatuated with the charismatic ruler. It was on his birthday that she began to serve with her body. Within the third year of Calilien's servitude for the King, she became pregnant and eventually gave birth to Kyran. From the get-go, Kyran was a sickly baby. He rarely ate and it was generally assumed he'll die by the time he was ten. Calilien and maids tried to take care of him, but nothing seemed to work. The King was absorbed with his plans, refusing to look at once beautiful dancer's plight.

Kyran was cared for by Calilien dearly. He had the natural talent for words, but was hindered by one thing: his health. His health prevented him from leaving the castle, let alone down the hall. Kyran rarely saw his father, and in turn, relied on his mother. He loved his mother so much and followed her words by heart. He admired his father as much as his mother, taking everything for granted. Six years passed, and Kyran was once again sick from the flu. However, he was completely weakened, barely standing. No medicine or magic could pull him out of his sickness. One night, Calilien began to argue with the King of Phobos. She pleaded that she go with Kyran to another kingdom to seek medical help. At this rate, Kyran was going to die. However, the King refused out of pride. What would it look like if the son of the King was going to die from a cold? Kyran's mother, angered and betrayed, decided to do a drastic action: She'll leave the kingdom.

A week later, cloaked and with a horse, took Kyran and set out for the great kingdom of Lionis. Surely, Calilien imagined, would have mercy for a child. While exiting the kingdom, Calilien encountered thugs. Rapists and murderers to be exact, exiled from the military for their incompetence. They attacked Calilien, knocking her of the horse. Kyran, who was also on the horse watched in horror as they grabbed his mother, beating her into submission. He threw himself off the horse, trying to grab the nearest thug to stop hitting his mother. Calilien screamed for Kyran to run, but Kyran would not. The other thug pulled Kyran out, angered at the boy's actions. Kyran was thrown across the ground, causing Kyran to feel one of his arms break on impact on stone. Calilien had been shoved into the ground, bleeding. She kept sobbing to leave Kyran alone and to only take her. Have mercy on her son. Kyran watched in horror as the thug holding his mother down, dragging a knife down her dress. A trail of blood followed the blade, cutting the dress in half. Kyran, not wanting his mother to get hurt further, let out a guttural scream. The thugs and Calilien looked at him and felt his vision turn purple.

Kyran woke up in his bed. He felt incredibly different. He felt lighter, healthier, even a bit stronger. There was a dull pain in his arm. Suddenly, he remembered. Calilien, the thugs, they were hurting her and.. What happened? He then noticed a butler come in, with a tray filled with food and drink. Kyran demanded to know what happened. Where's his mother? Did the thugs get the justice they deserve for hurting her? The butler bowed his head and said, "His majesty will tell you." Kyran was confused and refused to eat. With unsteady feet, he forced himself to initiate a conversation with his father. From father, he learned a certain thing: Something had compelled Calilien and the criminals into a sleep. Guards had found all four collapsed onto the ground. When they went to go rouse them, one of the guards (the one who had been attacking Calilien) woke up, babbling and screaming something along the lines of murder, crows, and crushing earth. They brought all of them to the castle where Calilien was stabilizing and the other thug was in the dungeon. The thug, who had been babbling, was placed in a chamber to try to understand his incoherent speech. The King asked what Kyran remembered. Kyran then explained, confused about the thug's current state.

The King paused and asked Kyran to come with him. Kyran followed him into the dungeon where they saw the thug, chained into a chair. The moment they appeared, the thug looked at Kyran with wide, fearful eyes. Kyran, shocked by the thug, took a step back. Finally, it clicked. He had done this. He had somehow put everyone to sleep and this man. What did that man see in him? Kyran slowly stepped forward, anger slowly building in him. What had he done? And why is it that he feels so much.. better? A feeling of hunger came in him. He desired it. He tapped into his ability, with a open mind. Kyran became aware of the lavender like scent around him, causing the man to fall asleep. The man, overcome in his fear, immediately slumped forward. His power, surging like a damn breaking, found threads and chains in the man's mind. The threads and chains tangled, clashing with one another. A distant scream he heard, but Kyran didn't even care. He picked up the fragments, building a monster out of it. May the monster tear all of these lines apart and-

A hand pulled Kyran away from the body. Kyran gasped, brought back to the present. In front of him, the man was slumped forward, his eyes empty. The cold hand, grabbing his head, was his father's. Kyran looked up and then realized he had done something terrible, disgusting, destructive. Utter fear then came to him. What had he done? What was the desire that fueled him? How could he have done this? Terrified and exhausted from using his power, Kyran fainted and spent a week recuperating from this disaster. From that day forward, Kyran refused to use his power. The bloody-hungry desire was too much for him, effective and powerful. Kyran's power, no longer exerted or practiced, began to eat Kyran inside. His health declined once again, but for Kyran, for the better. What if he used the power on someone he cared for? Instead, he devoted his time to his studies. If he cannot be of use in physical combat, then he can assist in strategy. He went to visit his mother, but she refused to see him. Kyran felt the fear in his mother's voice. Perhaps she had heard of his power. Rejected, Kyran didn't try to see her again. Time passed and Kyran heard news of Calilien leaving the castle, returning to her village. Kyran couldn't believe it and ran to meet her in the courtyard. He pleaded Calilien to stay, to no avail. She embraced him once and said, "Never use your power or you will be a monster." With that, she left without a single word.

Years passed and Kyran had become fairly independent. Although still weak with little to no physical talent, Kyran is happy enough learning from books and puzzles. Deep down, Kyran understands that he has to use his power to better his health. However, he will follow his mother's advice to his grave, except perhaps for his father. Within the last year following the king's death, Kyran fell into massive depression, refusing to eat for weeks at a time. His health was at an all time low as Kyran felt guilty for never being able to save Father. It was not until the recent strange explosion in Ethe that Kyran is returning back to reality slowly.

Dreams: He wishes to explore all the kingdoms without any worry.
Greatest fears: To have his family abandon him on the streets because of his actions.
Unique mannerisms/physical habits: Kyran tends to play with his sleeves when he is nervous or lying. Furthermore, Kyran keeps a pendant around his wrist to keep him calm. Whenever agitated, worried, or scared, he would play with it.

Of course, what could be more powerful than a sickly teenager who probably can only spew random trivia about birds?
